Chapter 16: The Power Of A Spirit Master

Luke speeds up as he runs through the streets, his heart pounding in his chest.

The air whipped against his face, and he could feel the rush of adrenaline coursing through his veins.

With each step, his legs grew stronger, propelling him faster and faster.

'After entering the Warrior Apprentice Stage, my speed has indeed improved significantly,' Luke thought to himself.

He couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment as he effortlessly weaved through the busy city streets.

Unlike the time when he had to complete the Run quest, Luke easily outpaced his previous self.

It was only a 0.1 improvement to his stats, but it signified a great leap in his speed.

In a matter of minutes, Luke arrived at the edge of a dense forest.

The towering trees and thick underbrush seemed to beckon him, and without hesitation, Luke plunged into the depths of the forest.

The cool shade and earthy scent enveloped him as he continued to sprint through the winding paths.

Luke wanted to test his new ability. Spirit Power, so late at night, Luke headed to the nearest place he could test his ability without anyone seeing him.

Finding a good spot away from prying eyes, Luke stopped to catch his breath.

The moonlight filtered through the canopy, casting an ethereal glow on the forest floor.

Excitement coursed through Luke's veins as he focused his mind, using his Spirit power.

Luke could even hear the subtle whispers of the trees, the soft rustling of leaves, and the sound of animals moving.

"It's not that they're loud; it's that my hearing has improved by a lot."

His sight and hearing improved by an amazing amount.

His gaze landed on a small branch beside him. With a heartbeat, he felt a formless energy instantly take control of the branch.

This formless energy was unable to be sensed, but he could feel it clearly. This formless energy came from his mind.

"What is this power? How did I get this kind of power?" Luke could feel his heart beat faster as he felt the supernatural power act like a formless hand.

[HU!]

With one thought, the entire branch beside him started floating. He turned his head to another branch, and even it started floating too.

Soon after, there were rocks, leaves, and even small animals floating in the air around Luke.

All of them were floating above the ground.

Very quickly——

Almost everything in this place was floating above the ground, like in space, where there's no gravity.

"I can make all of these things float and yet not feel challenged or tired at all." Luke slowly walked.

It was late at night and completely silent.

His gaze landed on a fence, and with one thought

[KA!]

One of the columns of the fence started rotating, and it detached itself from the fence.

The column's front part, under his gaze, started twisting and turning and turning sharp; it became a steel needle.

All of this was floating in midair with formless power.

"Go!" he thought.

This column moved like lightning and shot toward a fake mountain in a small region.

At amazing speed, the needle pierced through the boulder on the fake mountain.

After piercing through, it turned around and flew straight through the hole it made.

[WHOOSH! WHOOSH! WHOOSH!]

The steel needle was like an uncountable number of phantoms as it pierced the fake mountain.

As if pierced through a huge amount of armor-piercing bullets, the mountain quickly became a sieve.

[PENG!] There was suddenly the sound of an explosion.

The fake mountain, which was two to three meters high, burst open and became countless little, shattered rocks.

The needle that Luke was controlling also blew up and became powder.

That rock, which was easily two meters thick, was pierced through in an instant!

His needle's power was like a heavy PiMei sniper rifle shooting through armor.

The needle wasn't sturdy enough, so it turned into powder as it pierced through the fake mountain.

"I pierced through it a hundred times in just one instant. Wouldn't that be like shooting a hundred armor-piercing bullets?" Luke took a deep breath.

"Just, just what is happening?"

"Is this the power of a Spirit Master?" Luke wondered aloud, his voice filled with awe and disbelief.

It's the only thing I could think of.

He had never witnessed such immense strength before.

"An Early Warrior Apprentice couldn't do something like this," Luke muttered to himself.

He couldn't wrap his head around the fact that he, an Early Warrior Apprentice, had just displayed power beyond what was expected at his level.

The fake mountain lay in ruins before him, a testament to the incredible strength he possessed.

Luke felt a surge of excitement and determination course through his veins. If this was the power of a Spirit Master, he couldn't wait to see what else he was capable of.

"I need to test this more," Luke thought to himself.

He still doesn't know what level of strength the attack he just did possessed, but it was definitely stronger than an Early Warrior Apprentice Stage.

The best way to verify his level was to go to a testing ground and test his new strength.

It was easy to have access to a testing ground, as there were many scattered throughout the city.

The previous Luke visited the testing ground every month to measure his progress and compare it to his prior one.

So it wasn't new to Luke to enter the testing ground, as he had memories of the previous Luke.

Luke quickly wanted to go to the nearest testing ground, but unfortunately for him, he couldn't do that today.

He put his watch on a timer and set it for 10 PM.

He knew that at that time, his mother would be returning home, so he needed to be back before then.

With a sense of urgency, Luke sprinted down the forest.

He focused on his speed, pushing himself to run faster and faster.
