Chapter 2: The World Of Reverie

"You see, I created the world of Reverie using your origin world, Earth, as a reference."

The serious voice of the Goddess Visare who just told him that he was being called to another world to be a part of a hideous experiment was now nowhere to be found as the Goddess explained to him about the world of Reverie.

"Although compared to the super complicated Earth System that your origin world Creator made for the world of Earth, the Reverie System I created for the world of Reverie is indeed much simpler."

The dark silhouette of the Goddess Visare who is still floating in front of him took a post that shows how proud the Goddess is of the world and System she had created.

However, that sacred post of the Goddess Visare is not what caught his attention.

"The Earth has a System?..."

"Of course!... Every world has a System!... How do you think a world will work if it doesn't have a basic foundation like a System?"

From the memories of stories about reincarnation, transmigration, and being Isekai that flash to his mind, he understands what the term System means.

The hideous experiment part is kinda starting to make him anxious as the Goddess Visare still hasn't explained or given any details as to what kind of experiment his soul is being used.

"Don't worry, fluffy sleepyhead, we're going to get to that part... For now, let's start with the basic foundation of the Reverie System that you Humans can comprehend."

...In the world of Reverie, Humans accumulate Virtue and Sin as they live their lives...

...When a Human dies, the Virtue will become the power of Mana that will support and give more life to the world. While the Sin will become the power of Curse that will cause Monsters to be created around the land of the Curse Lord...

...That's the basic foundation on how a Human soul in the world of Reverie is being purified to return to the Cycle Of Life and be born again in the next life...

"See?... It's much simpler compared to the super complicated basic foundation of the Earth System, right?"

He's not sure how to reply to the Goddess Visare who is intently looking for an agreement from his side. After all, he had no idea about the basic foundation of the Earth System or the truth about the Cycle Of Life back in his origin world.

But still, the Goddess Visare didn't care that much, probably understanding his lack of knowledge and continuing her explanation about the basic foundation of the Reverie System.

"All that's left is for the Humans to use the power of Mana to defeat the Monsters and finally purify all the Sin left in the world... Isn't that a wonderful idea!"

It was indeed a simple and wonderful idea. But still, if there was a need for a Sacred Hero Summoning Ritual like what the Goddess Visare said before...

"Well, you're thoughts are actually in the right direction. Something unexpected went wrong."

The Goddess Visare is surely displeased, that's his main thought as the Goddess continues to tell the story about the world of Reverie.

...In order to control where all the Monsters will be created and give peace to the land of Humans, the Goddess Visare created a being called Curse Lord. This being has the ability to greatly control the power of Curse and center all the creation or appearance of Monsters around itself or in the land it was given to rule...

...However, the gravity of the Sin of Humans is something that the Goddess Visare didn't know back then...

...The Curse Lord whose only role is to control and contain all the Curse around its land has become affected by the Sin still deep inside the power of Curse...

...The Curse Lord started to have its own ego affected by the Human Sin and decided to attack the Humans...

"If the Curse Lord has become affected by the Human Sin, can't you just do something about it? Like, destroy the Curse Lord using your divine power?"

"I see... You're quite the idiot one, fluffy sleepyhead."

"Huh?!..."

What the Goddess Visare said made him really confused, especially the fact that he was called an idiot.

"Didn't I just say earlier that I'm the Creator of this world?... Why would I destroy something that I proudly created?"

The Goddess Visare principle is kinda contradicting. After all, he thought that if the Goddess didn't destroy the Curse Lord, more of her creation would be destroyed by the Curse Lord itself.

"That's exactly why I gave the Humans the Hero's Sword so that they can summon a Hero from your origin world and defeat the Curse Lord and save the world of Reverie."

That's the classic trope of all reincarnation, transmigration, and Isekai stories as far as he remembers. But still...

"Can't you just give your blessing or some kind of divine power to the people of Reverie instead of summoning a Hero from, Earth?"

"Well, the Curse Lord has become so overpowered back then because of its ability to greatly control the power of Curse. No Human of Reverie can match its power. That's why I need someone from your origin world."

"But why someone from Earth?..."

"I told earlier, fluffy sleepyhead. You're not listening properly!... Since I use Earth as a reference to create Reverie, I also based the Humans of Reverie on the Humans of Earth. I could easily bless the Hero from your origin world with a System that can match the power of the Curse Lord using the Hero's Sword since he's not yet bound by the limit of the Reverie System. That's the easiest way to save the world of Reverie, right?"

I guess that's right, he thought, and the Goddess Visare was pleased to understand his agreement.

That's the history of the world of Reverie. However, there's still one thing that concerned him.

"So what is this hideous experiment about replicating the Sacred Hero Summoning Ritual?"

That's the most important thing right now for him. After all, his soul is being used as part of that experiment.

"Right!... You see, Humans are really interesting and unpredictable beings. After the Hero from your origin world saves the world of Reverie and returns to Earth, the Kingdoms who suffered most from the attack of the Curse Lord wanted the Hero's Sword for their own."

What the Goddess Visare said gave a grim feeling, like he already knows how terrible what is about to happen next in the story.

"They work together and attack the Holy Kingdom who's in possession of the Hero's Sword. After the Holy Kingdom's defeat, the Hero's Sword was broken in many pieces and the fragments were taken by different Kingdoms to use its divine power to rebuild their Kingdom."

"That's kinda messed up, but that still doesn't explain about that hideous experiment..."

Before he could finish what he wanted to say, a sudden realization came to his mind.

"I guess you understand now, fluffy sleepyhead. The fragments of the Hero's Sword are being used to summon the Human's soul from your origin world."
