Chapter 30: Truth
When he had reached the Combat Hall, the entire place was already vibrant and bustling with people, as the shouts and cheers echoed throughout the four corners, like a heavenly drum that kept booming throughout.
"It's Chen Yu Liang! The number one genius within the Outer Court! Undefeatable and unsurpassable!"
"Did you see that spear behind his back? This is the very spear that had defeated the entire top 10 in the Heaven's Pride Ranking!"
"His talent is extraordinary, his background exceptional! He is the perfect person in my heart!"
"Tsk. That Long Chen who dares to fight him. How daring. He thinks just because he was able to defeat the other top 10, meant that he could defeat Chen Yu Liang?" A girl shouted out aloud as her eyes were basically peeled onto Chen Yu Liang's face, her intoxication riddling her common sense.
And as Long Chen walked in, the direction of the exclamations started to change, as they distinctly felt the elegance that was oozing out of his every step.
"He is really as the rumors say, handsome!"
"I feel like he isn't the type to lose out. I definitely feel that Long Chen will win!"
"Of course, how could such a handsome person lose? No way, I'm betting on Long Chen!"
The girls who were previously staring dreamily at Chen Yu Liang swiftly jumped ships, as they immediately discarded their infatuation towards him.
While the boys within the crowd gritted their teeth as they saw this scene, hoping for Chen Yu Liang to beat him up badly. Especially his face.
Long Chen rubbed his nose awkwardly as he swept his gaze towards the crowd, before his eyes finally landed on Chen Yu Liang.
His aura was strong, his demeanor proud, yet this proudness was of an unyielding character, not one that was haughty and arrogant.
A smile was adorned on his face, and it contain a few shades of warmness and humility.
"So this is Brother Long Chen who had defeated the entire top 10, with the exception of me! I have made some progress in my cultivation, and would sincerely like to exchange pointers with you." Chen Yu Liang cupped his fists and said in a tone like he was talking with a friend, full of amiability
Within his eyes was a burning desire to fight, with absolutely no deception, as if the battle intent that was currently radiating out of him was his true emotions.
Damn! What happened to the arrogant person that Xiao Wan Wan had said?
Wasn't he the number one on the Heaven's Pride Ranking? Why did he seem so humble, rather than the usual conceited geniuses?
Since he was really being genuine, then he had to accede to his request then.
However, he turned to the Elder who was supervising their fight, as he questioned, "Can we have a change in location instead? I find it more appropriate if we fight in an isolated environment."
He was already in the Elementary Realm, but he did not want to expose his strength yet. It was better to lay low for a while.
Even though he knew that defeating Chen Yu Liang would similarly cause waves of uproar to spread, however, it was at least better than telling everyone that a new disciple had broken through to the Elementary Realm.
The Supervising Elder frowned his eyebrows. He was the same Elder who had the intention to introduce her granddaughter to him in the past.
Although he wanted to build a connection with this sort of genius, however it was not within his authority to change the combat location at his will.
"Brother Long Chen, why do you feel the need to change the battle location?" Chen Yu Liang, who was at the side, inquired with curiosity.
"I feel that we can better demonstrate our combat powers in a more silent area." Long Chen replied, while within his heart, and was filled with helplessness.
What was he supposed to do, attack Chen Yu Liang with his Qi and expose his Elemental Qi?
And as for fighting solely with his fleshly body, that was even more ridiculous. Even though his fleshly body was strong, he hadn't specifically trained for that, and his body was unable to directly deal with and overwhelm the impact of 8th Qi Refining Realm Qi, judging from Chen Yu Liang's aura.
Geniuses really could not compare to normal people. They could disappear for a few weeks, and reappear with a completely different self.
Breaking through to the 8th Qi Refining Realm from the initial 6th Qi Refining Realm. Chen Yu Liang's talent was exceptional indeed.
"This…" The Supervising Elder hesitated, not knowing what to do. Based on the rules set by the Sect, they had to fight within the combat hall.
And that was when a voice transmission entered his mind, and his expression instantly changed to one of surprise.
It was from the Sect Leader who had personally acceded to Long Chen's request.
"The fight between Chen Yu Liang and Long Chen will be held in the Great Blue Mountain instead!" The Supervising Elder loudly declared, his voice echoing into everyone's ears, before he started to chase them out of the combat hall.
A collective sigh of dissatisfaction and angry complains started to rise up, as the crowd murmured to themselves
"Do you think that Long Chen is too scared to fight in front of everyone's eyes because he knows that he would lose?"
"I think that way too. If not, why would he change the location to an isolated place instead, and not let us watch?"
"Hmph! So what if he is defeated. Do you not know that he is merely a new disciple? Within a few years, he would definitely be able to easily pummel Chen Yu Liang into the ground!"
A few of the female disciples started to angrily retort as they heard the ramblings of the male disciples.
Meanwhile, the Supervising Elder brought both of them towards the Great Blue Mountain.
As the name suggests, it was a mountain located within the Sect, brimming with dominance and magnificence, as it stood proudly and firmly.
When Long Chen looked towards the mountain, a glint flashed past his eyes, as he wondered when he could totally uproot this entire mountain from its place.
Probably a few years?
They made it to the top of the mountain, as they stood high above the ground, Long Chen and Chen Yu Liang staring at each other.
"You can begin the battle now." The Supervising Elder announced to both of them, his eyes carrying a slight hint of anticipation as he watched Long Chen.
Even the Sect Leader paid so much attention to Long Chen, and gave him preferential treatment. What was so special about him?
"Chen Yu Liang, before we start to fight, can I ask you a few questions?" Long Chen waved his arms as he casually asked.
"What?" Chen Yu Liang asked with curiosity.
"Do you know Xiao Wan Wan? She asked me to deal with you, and said that you were an arrogant person, and always bullied her. But from the looks of it, it doesn't really seem true. Can you tell me what happened between both of you?" Long Chen glanced at Chen Yu Liang.
Chen Yu Liang face immediately turned stiff, as the smile of his face immediately froze.
After a while, he awkwardly coughed a few times while saying, "Haha, this is a rather embarrassing matter. I had once ruffled her hair during a gathering, and then she started to spout out flames of anger from the mouth and kicked me hard. Her accuracy…was deadly precise. Then, she started to cry out to her parents about how I had bullied her."
His face tensed up as he remembered what had happened next, "Afterwards, they evidently believed her and started to send some disciples to challenge me during the gathering, all for the sake of exchanging pointers…after this incident, I never dared to attend the gathering anymore."
"As for who bullied who, my hand was broken after the exchange of pointers, and I had to recuperate for a few weeks." Chen Yu Liang clutched his hand that was faintly trembling, while his eyes revealed intense pain, as though he was recalling the moment.
