Chapter 15: 15. Learning on the journey.

The army continued their journey with two new companions. Garona just silently walks and keeps distance from the others due to her identity while Khadgar walks along with Eskalios and enthusiastically talks with him.

The mage apprentice and the white-haired boy's age were not too far apart, and they considered the same age if counting Eskalios real mental age. Moreover, they have a similar point that no one at the same age to talk with such as arcane power or the holy light. After talking for about an hour, they can consider each other as friends.

The army travel till dusk before setting up a camp in one area of Elwynn forest. Some of the soldiers act as patrols to prevent unexpected attacks from the orc's raiding teams while the other soldier has a leisure time, some of them sitting in a small group and talk about miscellaneous topics, and some just going to sleep, prepare for the marching in tomorrow.

Eskalios and Khadgar are also in the second category. They have to travel in the daytime, so it is inappropriate to have a proper talk. Now Eskalios found some snacks and drinks, sitting next to the bonfire and listening to Khadgar's lecture in arcane art.

"The arcane magic has very broad topics and we did not have enough time, maybe you can learn only one or two spells when we reach Stormwind city so I will teach you only in one aspect. Tell me, which topic do you want to learn?" Khadgar asks. Arcane magic is a universal power, its power varied from creating bread to destroying the world. It takes several years to master some parts of it. Now they only have several days, he can only learn the basic knowledge even with his talent.

Eskalios also knew about this so he fell into a deep though, pondered for a long time about what spells he should learn, because he also has no energy to be the know-it-all magus and choose to master only one or two fields, and this decision should determine his future path in arcane knowledge.

"Do you want to learn elemental arcane? These spellings have a wide attack area and can be used on many occasions. It should be suitable in the war." Khadgar suggested.

"No, thanks for your advice. I've already decided." Eskalios shook his head before speaking slowly. "I want to learn space magic."

"Space? You mean teleport, open a portal, or something like that?" He stunned, did not expect this answer from his mouth. "Are you sure? Space magic is very difficult to learn and did not play a big role in the battle."

"Yes, you don't have to persuade me anymore. I also have my own reason." He nods, signaling that he has already decided.

He is someone who knows the future, so he needs to look far ahead. Every five percent of the unsealed power, Eskalios will receive new power from Sang Mandeok's borrowed power other than the creation of swords. And Sang Mandeok's abilities seem to be varied and very all rounded.

He can create energy shields with omega shape to block the attack, binding the enemy, blasting it to attack the opponent, or using it to teleport. He even has the creation abilities to recreate his body parts and the object, providing a high capability of healing wounds. It can be said that this guy is the author's child at the start of the story.

With this truckload of skills combined with holy light power, the spells used in fighting did not have any attraction to him. He tends to look at the spells which could improve the overall power of the army such as arts like enchant magics that provide magic tools.

It's true that teleportation magic will be one of his powers in the future and it seems redundant to learn it now, but that's also for the future and there are many powers that he wants to receive so it should be a long time before he will earn it. Spending a little time to learn it in advance seems to be a pretty good decision.

Moreover, as a loyal fan of The God of Highschool, when talking of the teleportation, he will not think of Sang Mandeok but Jeon Jaesan of the six who was hailed as the great magician. In the book, he can teleport millions of people out of Seoul with a single spell. That kind of large-scale teleportation is at another whole new level compared to the teleportation abilities from borrowed power.

Eskalios even thinks, if he can really practice to the level that can teleport tens of thousands of people with a single action, how many people can he save in this war and in future disasters. Thinking about it. It would be a very interesting picture if he could empty the whole city, and leave the Lich King alone with the desolate town, crying. "It's so lonely out here, someone come and let me turn you into an undead."

"Since you really decide to learn space magic then I also have nothing to say. I hope you won't regret it in the future." Khadgar spoke after letting out a long sigh. Then start teaching him about space magic.

Space magic's meaning is like what it is called, a spell that plays with space. The magus will use arcane power to bend with the space to make it twist and create the channel in the space. The mage can use this channel to shorten their travel distances by bending the space into the tunnel or storing objects by stretching and opening an extra space, making the small area bigger, etc.

After explaining the concept of space magic, Khadgar began teaching the theories which contain much knowledge about space. These theories may sound confusing for Azerothian, but who is Eskalios, although he wasn't a world-class professor but he also a movie veteran, which theories did he not see on those movies?

Although the theories are very complicated when Eskalios dives deep into it, it did not contain the high-level math and scientific knowledge, at least not yet. Most of what he said is how to control arcane energy to open the worm hole using for basic teleportation.

He taught the boy many ways, such as controlling the arcane power purely by mental power, combining it with hand gestures, with chanting, or all at the same time. These methods were not difficult for someone at Eskalios' caliber. He only needs to practice it for half an hour before Khadgar decides to move to the more dangerous lesson, the actual use.

In order to not disturb other people, they move out around fifty meters far from the camp. Ready to let Eskalios perform his first teleportation.

"The teleportation that you are going to do is a short distance teleportation call blink. It's easier than the long-distance transfer that uses the arcane sign in mage tower as a beacon. Blink did not need any coordinate, you just need to think about where you want to go, but remember..."

"You must have a clear picture about the direction and distance, both horizontal, vertical, and diagonal line or else you might get your body stuck in another object and result in a horribly death. I know that. You already talking about the risk twice." Eskalios said in a little impatient tone. "I know that you are worried about me, and I am very appreciating your consideration. But shouldn't you encourage your student in a situation like this? You know that too much pressure will result in failure, isn't it?"

"I'm sorry." He scratched his head. "But don't forget to..."

"Well, let's start." Eskalios did not intend to listen to this guy's nagging anymore. He quickly waves his hand, controls arcane magic in the air and bending the space around his body, making it become like a channel, then let it wrap around his body, making his body abruptly disappear and reappear two meters away from where he currently was.

"You...to think that you could success from the first time after learning it for just an hour, that's almost unbelievable, no, that's not what I should say! Why didn't you listen to my signal?!" Khadgar was both shocked and rejoiced with his success but still shouting the last sentence.

"Because you're too annoying."

"That's way too direct!"

"Oh, sorry then." He spoke noncommittally before concentrating on his arcane manipulation and using another blink to a place far from his current position around five meters, then to another position continuously. The more he did, the more familiar he was with the trick and the faster he was able to blink. At this rate, it shouldn't be long before he mastered the spell. Worthy of being the most basic spell in space arcane magic.

To tell the truth, blink and long way teleportation did not have any difference in their essence. The teleportation is just blinking to a very long distance that human cannot estimate the position by themselves and need the arcane mark in the wizard tower to told where should they teleport to, so in theories, if ones really proficient in space magic and trigonometry that they could estimate the location of the goal that is several hundreds kilometers far from their current position, then that wizard can use teleport to travel to everywhere in the world.

"Okay, I think you have already trained enough for today, we should head back to the camp already." Khadgar reminds Eskalios after let him blink in a short distance around an hour. Although the white-haired boy still wants to train his new skill, he still compromise after think about tomorrow's journey.

For Eskalios, blinking is a really magical experience, even when he goes back to the camp, he still opens his eyes and thinks about the moment that his bodies shuttle through space till late at night.

In the next morning, Eskalios enjoys his new toy to the greatest extent. He blinks ahead of the army around ten to twenty meters before continuing to shuttle himself when he sees that they are almost catching up.

The real arcane magic is slightly different from Eskalios' god blade that it did not purely using the energy in his body but can also manipulating the arcane energy in the air to assist spell casting, so it does not put any heave burden on his body, making him able to use blinks non-stop without caught a sweat.

This act might somewhat bother the soldier, but Eskalios is one of the war heroes and his looks are also a teenage, so no one tried to stop him. As for Anduin, he thinks that it is a good idea to quickly master magic and there aren't any emergency situations anyway, so he let Eskaios do as he please.

Under this kind of situation, Eskalios proficiency in blink technique has risen sharply in a short period of time. He needs only three to five seconds to perform the spell. He might not be able to use it in battle like a certain golden flash of Konoha, but it won't be a problem to use it while fleeing.

He continues to do this almost the entire morning until he starts to get tired of it. He goes back to travel along with khadgar and continues talking to him. Khadgar was also very impressed by his learning speed, so he starts teaching the next spell without reservation. Although they can only talk about the theory because they are still traveling but it is better than letting the time slip away.

Moreover, the mage apprentice also teaches him some basic orc language that he learns from Garona. It looks like the language pack that the titan gives Eskalios along with this bodydid not include the language from Draenor so he needs to learn it from the start, Eskalios did not think that learning new language is a pain in the ass, instead, he think that learning orc's language will help him easier gather information in the war. And he might use it to communicate with the draenai in the future.

Khadar teaches this language to him not only to help Eskalios but also to introduce Harona to him because he can tell that Eskalios is like a normal person, who hates the orcs and distancing them from Garona. He wants to use this opportunity to let Garona teach Eskalios and make him see that this half orc half draenai is different from the other Tribe's member.

His intention is good, and Eskalios also did not have any bad feeling about her from the short time he saw her. But he knows that Guldan can control her at any moment, and he might be able to observe the situation through Garona's vision. It's true that Guldan controls her through dagger, and she can be free from it by destroying the dagger, but that should be because Guldan was in the coma at that time.

Moreover, Eskalios wasn't sure whether the warlock imposed any spells on her, so he did not have any intention to communicate with Garona until he killed Medivh.

Khadgar did not know his mind, so he thinks that Eskalios just simply hate the orc which is simply understandable. Although he looks disappointed, he still theach him wholeheartedly. In a short period of time, Eskalios could learn many basic words in the orc language.

The time of leisure learning wasn't that long. After they travelled for three days, the army arrived at their destination.

Stormwind city.
