Chapter 7: 7.Level Up.

The moment Eskaliso sees that the orc has a warlock, he knew that they are in deep trouble.

In Azeroth lore, Warlock is a spell-caster that uses fel energy in fighting. Their style also can be variant, whether debuff and torture people's minds, summoning demons from the Twisting Nether, or using a large-scale destroying spell in bombarding the enemy.

Although the user's body will be corrupt and weakened from fel energy that they are using, the fel energy will also give power and let them get stronger at a very terrifying speed. So to speak simply, if doesn't count the fact that they usually won't live long because of the power they use, Warlock is a class that is the most dangerous and is the most destructive one of all the professions.

And now right before them is a warlock in a flesh, it doesn't matter what specialization this guy is. Even though this warlock knows only basic ability, it is also a big problem for them for a group of normal footmen. The best example is the fireball just shooting at them.

"This is really bad, how come there is a warlock here." Eskalios frown. Although warlock is the unit that can produce in Warcraft it must be a very powerful and rare profession. The Tribe should put all of them into the main battle at Redridge Mountains, using them to harass a peasant like this is too wasteful, did the orc's commander is an idiot?

(Actually, Blackhand is really one of the dumbest Warchief out there.)

When the barricade is gone, the Grunts also can easily swarm in and delete the advantage they previously held in an instant.

Eskalios who saw this knows that he cannot just snipe them from above anymore and jump down to join the battle without any hesitation.

The assistant of Eskalios is very crucial. Not to mention a sword that he create to sneak attack the Grunts from time to time, just the holy aura that he emits to heal the wounds and stabilize footmen's minds is already a big help.

But that's still not enough. There are around ten people left on the side of Stormwind while the orcs have seventeen, not to mention that warlock. With this amount of difference in number, even if Eskalios do their best, they might still be wiped out in no time.

Don't see that Eskalios have borrowed the power of Sang Mandeok and could bully these orcs at will. He needs to use his stamina to summons the swords, and according to what he has tried before, he can summon one hundred and fifty words at a time.

In this fight alone he create almost one hundred swords, so he can only summon another fifty before he fell down.

No, that's just in the case he uses all his stamina to create swords. He has already consumed much of his energy through high-intensity action and needs to leave it for moving too, so in reality, he can summon around twenty swords before he is exhausted.

Now Eskalios is so regretted, really regret that he previously unscrupulously create the swords. He wouldn't have to be cornered like this if he just use that ability a little bit more carefully. It's good not, he can only wait to die with this group of soldiers.

He is going to die because he cannot create the sword anymore, if he wants to create the sword without rest then he needs another source of energy, and if he wants more energy, he needs to…

At that moment, like someone turning on a light bulb in his head, his brain thinks of many topics at the same time before the plans that look a little stupid flash into his head.

Eskalios can feel that he almost unseals the power in his body and lack just a little bit. The warlock right there is a profession that plays with fel energy and drains life force everywhere. The danger to the Azeroth is much higher than normal orc who drinks demon blood. If he can kill him then he might be able to unseal Sang Mandeok's power.

One in hundred and two in hundred seems didn't have much difference. But Eskalios knew that it was a solid gap in power. To put it simply, he will directly go back to his peak state when he can use only one part of his power if this plan succeeds. Which is more than enough to clean up this group of Grunts.

"We need to break through!" Eskalios shout. "Gather all the remaining people and prepare to go outside of the castle!"

"What, are you crazy? Now we are almost all dead, we can hold on only because these Greenskins coming in from one direction. If we take initiative to go out then we will be surrounded and become the target of the enemy's mage too!" The captain yelled back.

In his opinion, they can hold on because of the advantage of the castle. If they abandon it then what awaits them will only be a faster death.

"No, we will really die if we stay like this. We must attack and kill that warlock if we want to survive! Our hope…lies out there." He looks at the captain with unwavering eyes. "Believe me."

It can be seen that the power that Eskalios' action in this operation is not in vain. Every footman, including the captain, regards Eskalios like some old grandfather in the ring and believes in what he said quite easily. So although they are still hesitant, they still gather and prepare to charge forward after seeing the resolute expression of the boy.

As the initiator, Eskalios regards himself as a spearhead. Placing him at the front row of the triangle position, leading the attack without hesitation.

"Everyone, Charge!" Eskalios with a sword in one hand spoke loudly, leading the charge against the Grunts that rushed in. At the same time, he lifts his hand and gathers the holy light to emit as bright as possible until his hand looks like some spotlights.

"Ahh!!, my eyes!!" The Grunts scream and close their eyes. Not to mention the holy light that faintly burns their contaminated body, even if it's just a normal light, when looking at it directly, nine out of ten must instinctively close their eyes too.

His action made the orcs stunned, creating an opportunity for them to go through this line of effect. They also did not let the opportunity go, using the advantage that the Grunts losing their eve sight attack or pass through them.

In this process, Eskalios also created swords to stab enemy that blocked his way and the surrounding Grunts, trying to create as many advantages as possible.

Eskaliso successfully comes out from the circle of the Grunts and heads towards the orc warlock while other footmen help him entangle with the remaining grunts.

(A certain white wizard at the battle of Helms Deep "Young man, did you copy my skill?")

Seeing that Eskalios running toward him, the orc shaman look a little surprised but soon that look turned into contempt. It sneered and said something in orc's language that he didn't understand, probably an insulting word. Then it starts to chant the spell in a low voice and creates a shadow bolt attack shooting at him.

In the game, the shadow bolt is the first skill of warlock so it should be the weakest and didn't pose much threat. But this is not a game, some mechanics might not work in real life, and the shadow bolts are high voltage electric. His body did not have any health bar and did not want to try whether the shadow bolt will cause damage to his body or not.

Eskalios hurriedly dodge before creating two of the god's blades to stab the warlock body. The body of the warlock was originally frail and brittle, it cannot react to the speed of the attack at all, but before the attack reach the target, the warlock's body suddenly hardened like a stone. Making the sword did not stab deep enough to kill the warlock. Just make it fell on the ground and cannot move for a short period of time.

Although saying that the attack failed but being stabbed is quite painful, especially when the blade is coated with a holy light which is the nemesis to the fel energy. The warlock let out a painful roar. It looks at Eskalios with vicious eyes before continuing the attack.

Eskalios start to close the gap between them while looking at the staff, wary of the next attack. However, what he did not think is that the next thing shooting at him wasn't flame or thunder, but the green light with an ominous aura.

This skill is much faster than other attack spells, and if he didn't have a hallucination, this attack even makes a turn in the air and moves towards him. It's an attack that cannot be dodged.

When receiving that green light, Eskalios feels that his whole body is being drained, all the musclesscreamed in exhaustion, almost making him limp on the ground.

"This…is this a curse?" Eskalios thinks, warlock has three main specializations, that is using corruption or curse, enslaving and summoning the demon to fight for them, and using large-scale destructive magic. What he just experienced must be some kind of weakening curse without a doubt.

But this curse is also a low-level curse, he just disperses this effect by concentrating his holy light power. However, the warlock also didn't let him easily recover, like gamers who explode their APM, it cast a curse on him without stopping. Even if Eskalios with holy light protection still feels that his body and soul are full of pain.

Although it is said that Eskalios has part of Naruu in his body which is equal to the best hardware in terms of holy light he is still just a rookie now. Yes, in the future he will be better than even Uther, but that's about the future, now he did not have that level of power yet.

Then the warlock raises its hand and uses one of the signature moves of all warlocks, energy drain.

Eskalios can clearly feel that power and his life force are being pulled out and ripped off his body. The pain and drained feeling combine with the other curse making the boys want to lay flat on the ground and close his eyes for a short rest.

He knew that he could not do this or else he will be sleep forever and did not open his eyes ever again.

More importantly, he cannot fall here because of the remaining people.

It is he who proposes to attack and lead them to the road of no return (Although it's also no hope if they continue to stay there.) so it is not only for him to survive but for another nine life that fight with him for almost one month.

This though leads to a change in his heart. The thought of carrying more than nine lives on the line has tampered with and compressed his mind like the earth that compresses normal dirt into the jewelry. Making the holy light began to change.

Normally, to break through the mind, ones need to bathe in holy light and spend time in his sea of consciousness in order to realize his essence. But because of Eskalios's ridiculously high talent, he did not only didn't have to be in a serene environment but also can create the essence of his holy light in this extreme situation.

Responsible.

This didn't seem to be a huge aspect, sometimes, it seems like a funny feature of someone who could easily be exploited, naive, can be influenced by people around him, and sentimental.

But that's what he is. And he won't reject his nature just because it's not cool or lame.

His aura change when he has his essence. It changes from normal gentle light into a more gloomy deep golden color that exudes oppressive feelings. Represent the burden and expectation of comrade on his shoulder.

The upgrade in the quality makes his holy light overcome the spells on his body. He walks towards the orc warlock on the ground with his exhausted body. Not caring about the spell that it try to chant then stabbed the sword in his hands that almost turn to golden color because of the holy power in its chest.

The green blood gushes out while holy light burns the flesh that was corrosion with demonic power. The orc shaman wriggled a little bit before it died.

"It worked! It really worked!" Eskalios smiled excitedly while feeling that his power suddenly improve two times than before. This feeling is similar to when he leveled up in the online game, but a hundred times more joyful than that.

"Alright, now it's time to clean you guys up…" Eskalios pretending to be a xianxia novel protagonist who just broke through, but the picture in front of him makes him freeze.

At the place that should be a fight between the Grunts and footmen, now there is full of the bodies in the armor lying still on the ground, and to make the thing worse, the time when he looks back is also the time when the last soldier, the captain, has been slash through his chest.

At the moment, he didn't know is it was just his hallucination, but he has made eye contact with him. At the last moment, before he died, the captain's eyes are full of emotion, pain, fear, regret, relief, anger, etc. It conveys to Eskalios in a simple sentence.
