Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Training
10:00 AM 'New Haven City, Infinity Island:
Arias was standing in the training hall giving out further instructions. Everyone was silent and attentive after watching Kara's breakdown. Banshee and Slade had nodded their heads in respect at the scene. Caitlyn and Rose felt pity for the girl Whereas Ivy looked extremely pale.
"All training sessions will be held early in the morning and in the afternoon by Slade. Attending is mandatory. Failure to do so will lead to a makeup session. Rose you will be attending college in the morning after training. My younger brother will show you the location on his way to school."
"Caitlyn you will join Dr. Veritas in the lab. Slade I will need you to teach combat and weaponry classes with Harley to some promising students and Island military. Starfire and Blackfire will teach them alien styles. That way the students and military personnel will have a larger array of experience from the very best."
"Ivy you are free to do as you please when not training. I will start you and Caitlyn's body stabilization measures tomorrow. Banshee well... You're also free to do as you please outside training. Any questions?".
Rose was the first to speak.
"Uh How old is your brother?".
Slade glanced at Rose.
"He's five years younger than me, so he'll be 15 in a few months. Anything else?".
Arias spoke casually but the whole group minus Banshee looked at him with shock.
"Y-you're only 20!".
Rose was the only one to voice her shock. "
You're undying, so you must've lived for like a million years y'know ancient like my Dad."
Arias tilted his head and spoke.
"I am immortal, but I was born 20 years ago and isn't Slade in his early 40s".
"Wow you learn something new every day".
Rose spoke nodding her head. Slade looked at her in surprise.
"Since when do you learn every day. If you didn't inherit my meta gene you'd have the IQ of a T. rex to match your attitude. Eat, Sleep and Mate. Oh! wait not the last for you am sure even those beasts had standards".
Caitlyn cut the twos argument and asked her own question.
"Is he as powerful as you? I'm a little curious."
Slade interjected of course.
"Firstly there's a video on the major people of Infinity Island. Secondly why do you always ask creepy questions I'm genuinely curious."
Caitlyn ignored Slade. The two started to argue more the longer they knew each other.
Arias sighed and spoke.
"Seeing as they aren't any important questions I'll be on my way. Kara come".
Arias soon left the group with Kara following him behind silently.
They went to the residential floor and stopped by a room at the far end of the hall. Arias pressed a button which would make the A.I. inform the person within they have guests. Soon after he pressed it the door opened and Arias walked in before gesturing Kara to follow him inside.
The room was quite dark with a woman clad in a dark blue cloak floating with her legs crossed in the center of the room. The figure soon opened her eyes and looked at the two figures standing in front of her.
"Is there something I can help you with Master?"
Arias shook his head and spoke.
"No it'll in fact be me helping you. I'm sure you remember each other from the conference, so I'll skip the introductions and get to what's important. You two will begin receiving training from me formally starting today. Though your training styles may be different I can assure you both will be very harsh. So if you wish to quit now is your last chance."
"I'm not afraid of pain. I'll endure whatever it is".
Raven spoke casually and gave her answer.
"I won't give up either whatever it is".
Kara followed and spoke with determination in her voice.
Arias gestured Raven to walk over, and he placed his hand on her and Kara's shoulder before dark smoke covered them, and they vanished.
They reappeared in a hall full of people.
"Lord!".
Everyone in the hall fell to their knees upon seeing Arias. Raven and Kara who knew little about Arias's galactic exploits seemed a bit surprised. More so Kara as she knew these people.
"Why are they bowing?"
Kara asked a bit confused. Raven didn't care enough to do so.
An elder man on his knees replied to Kara's question instead.
"All bow at the sight of the Exalted one. To most of us he is our God. We dare not stand unless granted permission to. We Daxam are under his divine protection."
"Enough. I am not here for idle banter. Take me your council."
Arias's resounded in the hall. Making those who only heard tales of his power tremble.
Arias left Raven and Kara in the hall as he was taken to meet the council. He returned not long after followed by a group of old men and women who had mixed expressions on their faces. Some wore smiles and others looked highly disappointed. When Arias reached the two he still didn't explain but only said two words
"Let's go".
Raven followed immediately but Kara looked confused as to what was going on. They were led to a huge Colosseum like building but much larger. Thousands of people were being led inside. Arias was led to an area that held the best view. A large throne was prepared for him and beautiful women in skimpy clothing stood nearby holding food and beverage.
Arias quickly sat and then spoke to the elders who stood behind the throne.
"How long?"
An elder quickly stepped forward and bowed
"Soon Lord!"
Arias closed his eyes and didn't respond. Raven did the same leaving a bewildered Kara wonder why they left earth and came to Daxam and why Arias was so feared, she had her guesses but nothing solid.
