It didn't take you much longer after you dealt with the Sea Feilong to reach Menagerie. A few hours give or take, and it gave you plenty time to play about with your newly gained abilities and let your magic recover.
It was pretty easy now to figure out when you gained new abilities from Grimm you absorbed. Pyrrha had noticed with the Nuckelavee and the Elder Death Stalker, that when you gained new abilities, some of the clouds within your mindscape, usually had the red glow of them change colours. You have no idea why exactly, but it at least made things much easier to learn about.
You were very happy to get the Lightning Breath ability. Not only was it cool as fuck, but it would be a real game changer if you used it on Nora. Alongside it, you got the ability to morph your body with your magic to create gills which would let you breathe underwater.
..A useful ability in certain occasions, and not much else. But it did give you a little bit more insight in how to use magic. You were pretty sure that route of magic, was the route you needed to go down to regain your human body..or well, a humanoid body at least.
When you reached Menagerie, you just headed straight over towards the desert. On your way there, you flew over Kuo Kuanna and maybe flew a bit too low, since a few people screamed when you passed over a big ass mansion at the end of the city. You were also pretty sure you spotted Belladona at the top of a podium, but your eyes may have been playing tricks on you.
And so you entered the deserts of Menagerie, a massive place that took up two thirds of the entire country.
..And you found nothing for hours. Honestly, it was like nothing you had heard. Yeah, you'd heard there were hardly any Grimm, but you'd heard it was known for massive powerful Grimm, low in number as they were.
'Keep in mind just how big a place this is, and it's all covered in rocky mountains and has caves everywhere,' Pyrrha consoled you, 'Big or not, with how few in number they are, there's just too many places for them to be-
A loud roar split the air, cutting the redhead off. Grinning, you turned towards where you heard the noise, and there in the distance, some few hundred feet in front of you and flying through the air was a massive Grimm that could be a match for you in size.
Four legged and reptilian with black scales and massive red wings with an insanely long and spiked tail. You weren't familiar with it. 'It's a Sand Modo.' Pyrrha explained for you. 'I don't know much about them to be honest, I think they have some kind of attack that comes from their eyes though so watch out for that.'
You were utterly bemused by how long it took you to catch up with the thing. It was way faster than you in the air! Easily twice as fast. Still, you caught up due to it flying at a rather leisurely pace, even if it took a while.
Honestly, you could have bombarded it from afar...but you wanted to do something for fun.
When you caught up to it and flew alongside it, you noticed it was actually a decent bit bigger than you. But then, according to Pyrrha, the Sand Modo was on a tier of evolution above your Alpha Griffon form.
It turned its head and regarded you for a moment as you caught up with it. Before it boredly turned around and continued to stare out into the horizon it flew towards.
Ouch.
Well, whatever. You 'tried' to smile invitingly at it, "Hello fellow Grimm," you showed your your shiny white fangs that surely glinted lusciously in the dipping sunlight and flared your wings out, "How are you this fine day?"
It turned its massive reptilian head towards you and growled out what might have been a threat. "HOW RUDE!" you acted affronted, "Why I've never dealt with an attitude so bad! EAT CRYSTAL FEATHERS BITCH!"
It went to growl at you threateningly again, only for you to beat your massive wings and launch six massive crystal tipped shiny black feathers at it. The quills stabbed into it in the blink of an eye and it roared in pain for a moment, before falling limp and dropping out of the sky.
"That'll teach you to turn your nose up at me." you humphed at its corpse as it began to dissipate into black smoke and get absorbed into you.
You heard the sound of skin meeting skin throughout your head, 'Really? You actually got close and risked it just for some witty lines?' Pyrrha asked drily.
You shrugged your shoulders, "Gotta keep myself entertained somehow babe," you replied, "It's not like I can just go watch a movie or something. Outside of being awesome and powerful, it kinda sucks being a Grimm, it's so boring! I miss my scroll."
'That's true I suppose, at least I can watch your memories and check out movies you've watched and the like within your subconscious.' Pyrrha agreed.
Yeah. 'Wait..you can do that?' you blinked. That wasn't fair at all! You couldn't even consciously remember a full movie but she could access the subconscious memories of it that suppressed that amount of information to keep your brain from cooking?
Pyrrha giggled, 'Yep, I've had plenty time to play about with things inside here while you were amusing yourself killing Grimm and playing with your new powers,' the redhead replied, 'Also, I knew you had a lot of sexual fantasies. But wow, I passed through one string of memories in class where you literally spent the entire time Professor Port lectured, an entire hour, imagining the many ways you'd like to have sex with me.'
Huh. You blinked and grinned internally as you actually remembered that class. 'Oh, then what do you think about those ones about having a threesome with you and Nora?' you asked cheekily.
Pyrrha went silent and cut the connection, fading deeper into your mind. "Boo!" you heckled out loud.
