Chapter 6: Chaos!

Connor sat on his bed for a full minute after he hung up. He breathed in and out countless times but he still couldn't fight back those few tears.

"What am I gonna do now?" He muttered to himself, feeling a little lost. "Maybe I sh…" Before he could continue, an announcement echoed throughout the ship.

"We will be reaching the next port in less than 30 minutes, please be back on the ship within 4 hours or you might be left behind" A man's voice spoke. Connor recognized him as the captain of the ship, he had met him when he first boarded but never saw the man again after.

"If you look south you will see the Statue of Liberty in its full glory" The man continued as he spoke about the view and surroundings, though Connor easily faded him out. The captain continued, introducing the city of New York and its must visit tourist attraction. "...Times Square is the world's most visited tourist attraction. The bright lights and big city feel of this commercial intersecti.."

BOOM!

A powerful earthquake shook the ship, screams of horror echoed from outside. Connor frowned as he ran onto the deck. What he saw out there made him freeze in terror. A rotting an enormous hand covered in seaweed emerged from the ocean, grabbing the Statue of Liberty and crushing it in half. Pieces of stones flew everywhere, some even reaching the cruise ship and striking a couple of passengers. People panicked as they scrambled to head inside, pushing and shoving each other.

"A Titan?" Connor muttered, remembering the scene he saw back on the inquisition's ship. He was terrified and confused. "It.. wasn't a dream!" He stated. Managing to calm himself down, Connor ran towards a staff member still watching the hand as it kept crushing the Statue and shook him back. "We need to dock right now!" Connor said. "Go tell the captain" He did not know where the captain was or how to get to the bridge (The navigation control center) so all he could do was give that task to someone else.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Countless gunshots were heard from inside the city, but unlike what Connor thought, none were aimed at the hand. He tried to get a good look of what was happening there but all he could see were people running around, some bloodied and some… with gaping holes and injuries all over their bodies. They tried to run but were only able to slightly jog, trying to catch up with the rest" What is happening!" Connor's heart kept beating faster and faster as he watched chaos ensue.

"Co..Connor?" A weak trembling voice spoke from behind him, upon turning around he saw Lisa, standing there with tears in her eyes as she looked at him with fear coloring her face. She seemed to be terrified, barely able to stand up straight. She looked at Connor, the only person she knew on this cruise with begging eyes.

"Don't go inside, you don't want to be trapped if the ship sinks, but stay away from the railings and stick to the walls" Connor said before focusing back onto the city.

ARGH!

As the cruise ship got closer and closer, the sounds of the screams and gunshots were becoming louder and louder. He could clearly see what these people were running from.. They were running from each other. Connor stared in disbelief as a severely injured man managed to catch up to a woman, she tripped, unable to get herself back up, but unfortunately it was too late, as the man jumped on top of her, opening his mouth and taking a bite out of her scalp. She screamed and struggled, but nothing she did moved him, blood covered her face as the wound became more and more severe. The man kept taking several bites before she finally lost consciousness and not long after more and more of these deformed people joined in.

"Are those.. Zombies?" Connor looked in horror at the scene. He remembered what one of the sailors at the inquisition's ship told him. Apparently in Gaya, the dead were not buried but burned or beheaded.. If not, their bodies will be tarnished by whatever energies those ancient ruins released and rise, hungry for human flesh, their eyes long lost their luster, their bodies nothing but an empty husk.

After a bit, the cruise reached a halt not too far away from the port before the captain's voice spoke from the speakers. "We will not get anywhere near that hell. we've already sent a distress signal and help will soon arrive, but in the unlikely event that none appear, we will keep our distance from the port, unfortunately we did not get the chance to resupply and are unable to stay on the ship for long, we will have to wait until the coast is clear before we seek refuge with the local police"

Hearing what was said, Connor could only shake his head. "I'm not sure if that hand belonged to the same Titan that attacked the inquisition's ship or not, but either way, we are facing the same disasters they faced back in Gaya. Are both worlds somehow connected or is this related to the appearance of ancient ruins on earth? history is long and our planet had been in existence for too long" He continued. "If a Titan is here and Walkers became a real thing as well, does that mean the other horrors the sailors spoke of are also here?"

Connor did not need to contemplate on that question for long as terrifying roars pierced the skies, signaling the start of the apocalypse.

The sky was clear with no clouds in sight. In the distance, a barely visible moon watched over, alongside it, another sat, both reflecting the images of the disasters and chaos drowning the land.
