Chapter 46: Chapter 44: Consent

"Are you insane?" One of the gods of Earth questioned Hachiman from behind.

"Maybe I am. Hakai is a central god and deserves much more respect than this." Hachiman shrugged his shoulders without his arms.

"He's a stray!" One of the gods on heaven's side blurted.

"Tsk, as if your not," Hachiman said without a thought. "I don't care for ranks any longer. You overstepped the boundaries and addressed a god as an enslaved person. I can no longer trust heaven like I used to." He declared loud and clear.

"How could you!" The majority of the gods in the room shouted at Hachiman. However, he didn't budge and continued.

"So, do you approve of my proposal?" He asked.

The silence crept in, and the room tensed in pressure as Hakai slowly regained consciousness.

"Where am I?" He asked himself. The pain coursing through him was unbearable. If this pain were inflicted on humans, they would drop dead in a few minutes. Yet, his sheer willpower and determination kept him alive.

"I cannot die. I must not!" He said to himself. However, everyone in the room can hear his voice. "If I die right now. They will forget my name. My existence will be no more." He uttered, conjuring the power to move. "Amaterasu, Hachiman, heaven, hell, earth... I won't die until I can help them all!" He shouted as his vision cleared. Getting up on his knees, he raised his head ad looked up into the golden sky. "Hahhhh..." Hakai exhaled. "Beautiful!" He said, smiling. Suddenly, out of nowhere, blood gushed out of his mouth. Running down his face, throat, and onto his chest. He remained still with a smile, his eyes shut with enjoyment.

"Tch." Hachiman bit his lower lip, tears in his eyes, looking at the friend he admired. Finally, he couldn't stay still anymore. "So, my proposal!" He shouted at the gods.

"Using Earth's Charter in such a manner doesn't always work out, Hachiman God." Then, a calm and swift voice spoke out loud. Looking back, Hachiman noticed the man was two rows behind him, and his voice was very familiar.

"Ares, God of War, in control of the Northern Hemisphere! They have a shared Takamagahara, close in the ranks of High Heavens plain!" Hachiman turned back, stunned. "What do you mean, Ares God?" He asked him.

"I mean, the Heavens do not see a need in Hakai God. You can take it both ways but know this. I side with you on a new blessed vessel." He said, spreading his arms wide.

"Hm," Hachiman grunted, facing the Gods of Heavens again. Though invisible in the golden light, his gaze was sharp.

"Hah!" One of Earth's Gods sighed, signifying he was getting bored. "Come on now, what's the verdict?" He shouted.

"What in the name of Heavens is up with the Gods of Earth?" One Heavenly God asked himself.

"They seem very informal and unbothered by our presence all the sudden."

"It must've been what that War God said. They really view themselves as equals to us?" Countless thoughts ran through the heads of the Gods, unable to bear the words and actions of the lower ranks.

"Earth Gods, what are you implying here?" One of the Gods of Heavens shouted in anger. "Know this. We are implicitly stronger than anyone in your ranks. All of you together stand no chance against half of us!" He yelled out in anger, swinging his fist around.

"Who made this about fighting?" The same God who sighed purposely said to the heavens. "Listen, I respect all of you, but you overlook a sacred Charter that belongs to the Earth." He informed the Gods of Heavens of their discourtesy. "Usually, a decision is reached in time or called off for a meeting. However, I took great offense in this unusual silence." He stood straight up, facing the heavens.

"Hm." The one voice of all grunted in a motion of acknowledgment. "We apologize for our rudeness." The Gods of Heaven spoke, yet, some showed no remorse. "Now, my brethren, both of who occupy the Heavens and Earth. We have concluded. Established upon The Earth Charter, Section Two, Rule of Permission to uphold a fair vote the High Heavens Charter, Section Three, Rule of Divine Choice to provide the sick and weak Hakai a new vessel." They repeated the request before revealing their verdict.

Some Gods in the ranks of Earth squeezed themselves in anticipations. Hachiman bit his lips, grunting as he waited for an answer.

"Has been approved by The High Heavens Charter, Section Seven, Rule of Consent."

Many of Earth's Gods gasped in shock.
