Chapter 12: Grandmother to the rescue!
The blood of Kat had reddened the front of the Queen's tomb; the sound of winter black crows could be heard from outside. Noah was staring at the grave, but Nothing happened; he looked over at the King, who was standing right beside the corpse with his dagger in his hand.
"Your grace? How much should we wait? "Noah whispered in despair.
"She should have been alive by now!" He confessed, took a deep breath.
Noah frowned, thought to himself that Cordelia's recklessness has been just like her own father! With that thought, he suddenly laughed loudly without thinking, although he stopped laughing as the King glared at him.
"Maybe the gods didn't accept her as a sacrifice" King raised an eyebrow looked over at Noah.
"Ah," Noah puffed in fear, glanced at the corps from the corner of his eyes.
In the meantime, suddenly, a blue light gleamed through the window; the light was so intense that King and Noah narrowed their eyes to see better. The gods sang as the fierce rays were caressing the tomb. Until that split, Noah and King came closer and leaned over it to see inside. The soil began to form the curves of the Queen's body. The song of the gods ended. And the light returned to the moon.
"She is alive?" Noah asked, didn't dare to touch the famous Queen.
Laura is Cordelia's grandmother, Had seven sons and no daughters. As we explained earlier, Laura is a great queen. At her time, no beasts dare to attack Mainland, Vague, Limber, and the other human kingdoms,
She took her husband from the three other kingdoms, and all men gave her son. She decided to stay unmarried for the rest of her life until someone gave her a daughter, for sure, then she will marry him when her last husband, Simon, died. She fell in love with one of her guards called Robert.
She never married him while he never gave her the daughter that she always wanted, But Arthur, son of her second husband, bring back Alice, and she became the mother of Cordelia. She was a nice queen, although she never could be as brave as Laura, the legendary Queen.
Laura's eyes were closed when Arthur commanded the guards to get her to one of the royal chambers,
"When will she wake up?" Noah asked innocently.
"Soon, child, you go get rest, I let you know when it's needed," he assured him, and Noah nodded and walked away to his little room near the stables.
Finally, the Queen opened her eyes, noticed her son's eyes were gazing right through her face,
"What the hell are you doing here, Arthur! "
The King, who was leaning over his mother to see if she opened her eyes, took a step back immediately,
"Ah, sorry, you remember Nothing? Eh, about Your death?" He muttered.
Laura: "My what? Am I dead? "
Arthur: "Yes... I took you back!" He gave her a lousy smile but faced Queen's glare.
Laura: "Why you got me back? I was happy! I had thousands of daughters!" She snapped," Also, I was ruling the world! You stupid boy," she added furiously.
Arthur: "I'm sorry mother, I had to. Your grandchild is in danger."
Laura: "My what? Ah. Sharon has a daughter now?" She smirked.
Arthur: "Yes, she is our daughter, she is sweet, but something is wrong with her!"
Arthur contributed when she faced the Queen's glare again.
Arthur "You know, she has unusual magic power, the kind of power which only beasts have, and she can't control it, she might get dangerous for all of us and herself"
Laura let out a loud sigh: "Nothing good comes out of you "
Arthur, "It wants my fault it was a witch queen," and he told everything he knew about the story of the witch queen, but he didn't realize that Cordelia gets her power from Noah, and only thinks that The witch power transferred to Cordelia,
Laura listened carefully to the story then gets off the bed, gave a suspicious look to Arthur" You didn't kill me to rule with Sharon "
Arthur shook his head.
"No, I swear I didn't kill you, you get sick and died," he pouted, "When I was at the wizardry school."
He relived innocently, But Laura didn't believe him; she nodded and stepped to the mirror to check on her.
"You brought me here to control her power?"
Arthur: "No, I think a vampire attacked her, and she is in school now. You are the only one who can kill a vampire, remember?"
Laura "They are not ordinary vampires, they eat from the soul and blood, until they suck out all human souls, then the victim will become another vampire, but it's not a proper name for them, we should call them soul suckers.
Arthur "help my daughter please," he implored the Queen.
"Fine, but I need to get the rest now, then we will get those soul suckers" she raised an eyebrow calmly then looks at Arthur.
Laura, "Robert is alive?"
Arthur" actually Brenner threw him out of the palace, he wanted to claim the throne as your eldest son, and she took a wife from the southern kingdoms, and named her the Queen."
Laura looked at him with widened eyes; she never thought one of her sons could do such things! Bites her lower lip, tried to stay calm.
Laura: where is he now?"
Arthur" Sharon killed the pretenders, and sat on the throne."
A proud smile appears on her face looked at him up and down unbelievably.
"She always was my daughter," she winked at him.' You don't want to bring food for your old mother?" She relived jokingly, Arthur nodded, offered his arm to lead the Queen to the dining room.
When the King and Queen sat in their places, servants started to set the table as well as they can. They heard the woman who is here. It's one of the dead queens, so they scare her. Although Laura got back from the dead, she has smooth skin and beautiful black eyes.
The King was eating his food suddenly he reminded of Noah,
Arthur: "Oh, the boy must be hungry too."
Laura: "Which boy?" She asked suspiciously and Arthur anything he knew about Noah.
Laura, "He helped your daughter, then you serve him in stable?" She gave him a dangerous glare as he commanded the guard to get the boy.
When Noah gets into the dining room, he was embarrassed and scared, he heard scary stories about the Queen, and he knows she wouldn't be kind to the beasts of the north! He bowed at her with respect,
Laura, "come closer, I want to see my grandchild's; hero," she said sternly, made Noah shake a bit, but he gathers his bravery stepped on to her,
"Your grace!" He tried to look polite.
Arthur "sit child, eat with us."
Noah, "what about Cordelia, it won't be late?' he asked in fear.
Laura lifted her head to look over at him.
Laura: "I can't work when I'm hungry! You get back a queen or a slave?" She protested jokingly.
Arthur "Don't worry! She knows everything."
Noah nodded in fear and sat as they ordered and started playing with his food, still worried about Cordelia,
Laura gave Noah a death glare stood up.
Laura, "Who are you? I can't feel human smell!" Shouted for guards as she pulled out her sword.
Noah, "I swear I'm half-human, I'm not dangerous, I beg you, have mercy, beats will kill me."
He stood up as well, suddenly broke down started to cry.
Laura, "Who is looking after you?'
Noah, "My uncle, he burnt my mother and wanted to kill my father and me, but he took me here to be safe, I'm one of the humans, I'm a half-human, my mother was a human, I swear."
She felt that he is telling the truth; seven sons made her realize when a boy is honest. She stepped closer to him.
Laura "if you are right, I'll help you get back on the throne," he assured him,
King coughs: I'm sorry, but we don't have much time, you have to get back in a week, till Kat was accepted to the gods, then we have to kill another one, or you have to leave," he admitted, Queen sighs.
Laura, "Fine! Still, Cordelia can do that when it's time," she protested, stood up. "You are learning, Arthur, well done," she said, smirking at her son.
Laura, "We have to go, first, find Robert "
Arthur "Mother! No! It will take time! Also! You know I hate him."
Laura let out a loud laugh," I remember none of you liked him, but only a vampire can kill a soul sucker, and Robert only does it for me," she smirked.
Arthur gasped. "He was a vampire!"
Laura "Shhh, it is a secret. It always was, now come on, Arthur, get my special robe to find him before your daughter dies."
Arthur sighed, looking at her hatred, then commanded the guard to get her robe; she wore the black velvet cloak that nearly touched the floor., a long black robe that gave her luck and power. Laura doesn't know how to fly, but this special cloak helped her to appear anywhere she wished.
She turned around herself made Robert say the spells so she would disappear; when she left, Noah sighed.
Noah," she doesn't care about Cordelia; she only wants to find her lover," he protested.
Arthur "watch your mouth, boy, she is still the queen," he threatened him sternly. Made Noah looks down at his feet.
In a common room, where Laura appeared, is a man who is painting on a large paper; Laura stepped closer from his behind with a slight smile on her face,
"Robert?"
The man turned around; it wasn't Robert, Its Brenner, her older son; he chuckled loudly.
Brenner "oh mother, you thought I'm that pathetic vampire? I killed him a long time ago."
Laura gave him a death glare" Only a vampire can kill one!" Laura shouted, angrily, as Brenner showed the thing he was painting. IT WAS ROBERT'S CORPS!
It's aged now that I'm paining him. I want to know what he had that made you cheat on my father then kill him!" Brenner looked at her with hate and disgust; Laura closed her eyes, tears run down her cheek.
Laura, "You are mad!" She snapped attacked him, although Brenner disappeared and appeared behind her, grabbed her throat
Brenner, "I will kill you as well and paint you aside from your lover forever."
He let out a loud voice nothing could stop him from getting revenge. Laura begged for her life, not because of herself but cause of Cordelia! But Brenner wouldn't listen. He threw her on Robert's body, laughed again, this time louder.
Laura didn't want to hurt her son, she loved them all, But Brenner had always been jealous because she always wanted a daughter and divorced his father just because he and his brothers were a guy!
Laura cried out couldn't fight his son, but Brenner wouldn't help Cordelia, so she narrowed her eyes; Brenner pulled out hid dagger to attack; Laura reached out for her famous sword, threw it toward her son and cut his arm,
He cried out of pain, reached out to grab her arm, slapped her hard as the Queen jumped upon the air and landed on his face; Brenner started to curse her; he didn't have magic power, just like Laura, he bit her leg, Laura winced in pain lead over holder his head with both hands, and strangles her son with her one hand.
When he died, she held his head in her arms, kissed his forehead as she did before when he got born, she cried her eyes out,
"My son."
Laura laid the corps beside Robert, before, gets late, gave his soul to the gods to get Robert back. Gods heard her prays and accepted the corpse for the new Queen Cordelia, and gave Robert time to help her.
Robert opened his eyes peacefully. Laura wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I'm sorry," she said, starting to cry her heart out as Robert was breathing normally again.
