Chapter 4: The Repository Of Knowledge Opens
There were a few changes over the years, when I became 7 years old my father took me on a spaceship for the first time to go to mars visit his headquarter it was an experience I enjoyed greatly so my father promised to take me to mars every year,
At 8 years old I learned enough to have a Ph.D. in multiple fields satisfied I concentrated on A.I, Slipspace, and military technology study, for the time being, it continued like that till my tenth birthday,
I woke up took a shower, on the way to the kitchen I greeted the staff that take care of our everyday need and ate my breakfast, while I was eating I saw my mother enter the kitchen and greeted her,
" Hey, Mom how are you? "
" Hello Ryry are you excited for today," she said with a big smile
" A little bit and stop calling me that you know that I don't like it "
" I know that's why I keep using it," she said while she took a seat and started eating,
" Mooom," I said whining like a child which I was technically she just laughed at me,
" Your father will be here soon so finish your breakfast and go dress properly "
" Okay, where are we going? " I replied while eating faster
" It's a surprise, I won't tell you," she said, I sighed, put my bowl in the sink, and ran back in my room to dress, Five minutes later I stood in front of a mirror and took a good look at myself, black hair, green eyes, my height was above average for my age being at 154 cm before I could admire myself some more my mother called me saying that my father was here, I greeted him and we were on our way,
" So Ryan what was the mess that I saw in the garage," said my father,
" It's my researches paper on slipspace theory " I replied with a smile,
" What are you researching about slipspace "
" I'm trying to improve our understanding in the hope of decreasing the time it takes to go from colony to colony," I said
" Why? don't get me wrong it would be wonderful but why are you fixed on this? " questioned my father
" Because with faster slipspace we would lose a lot of our problem, for example, the commerce would boom causing the poverty in some of the outer colony to go down and the UNSC could react faster to threat," I answered to my father,
" Good, I hope that you will succeed, did you hear that Elena our son is already thinking about something this big," said my father
" Of course I heard him I am sitting beside you, " said my mother before she sighed and turned to me saying " I swear you're a workaholic just like your father "
" Maybe," I said with a smile on my face, she laughed before turning to talk to my father, I stopped listening to them and started to think of the future, the insurrection will continue for the next few decades and then the covenant will come, I had set a few goals that I hoped I could meet,
1-Ameliorating the Shaw-Fujikawa Translight engine as I said to my father this would help a LOT, (40% complete)
2-Ameliorating the military tech, I'm focusing on miniaturizing gauss technology and better armor for now, (60% and 20% complete)
3-Find a cure for A.I rampancy, I have a few ideas but nothing concrete (10% complete)
4-Shield technology, I didn't yet start on this project but I know where to begin so I hope it will take a short time (0% completed)
These are my top priority for and I could go this fast only because my parents accommodated my need.
I turned my head to see out of the window, I could see how much different it was from my past life, granted it was not that much but it still took my breath away, this world is very advanced in certain areas (A.I, computer, medicine, etc) other not so much (Weapons, military vehicles, etc),
I once asked my father why weapons were not more advanced he just told me that they worked so far and I let the subject drop
before I could think more the voice of my mother brought me out of daydreams,
" We arrived at our destination Ryan," she said
I looked to the front of the car to see an amusement park and I was pretty excited, don't judge me I may be an adult mentally but I still loved rollercoaster, my father parked and we descended from the car,
There were a few of my gravball buddies with their parents waiting for us at the entry, I greeted them while they wished me a happy birthday, we entered the park and found an empty table for the adults to stay while we would go play,
The rest of the day passed like that, we played while the adults talked before I knew it it was the end of the day which, to be honest, was pretty fun, we said our farewells to the invited before going home,
Arriving at the house I was quite exhausted but before I could go to bed, my father stopped me, I looked at him and he said
" You still have to see your gift " with a big smile on his face before he took my arm and led me to the garage with my mother following
We arrived at the door of the garage and my father said,
" Are you ready? ," I nodded before he opened the door,
When I saw what was inside I froze, because before me was a totally new lab much better equipped than my last, I began to inspect every inch of it and the more I saw the happier I was,
I was interrupted by my father,
" Do you like it? it has the best equipment that money could buy, " he said while smiling
" Of course I do thank you so much," I said while giving a hug to both my parents,
" We knew you would like it but promise us to be careful with all this equipment," said my mother gently caressing my head,
" I promise you both, " I said while drooling over all the tech there was here,
" Good, now it's time to go to bed young man " to which I nodded,
'What a day' I thought while lying down on my bed, the gift my parents gave will advance my research faster, I was pretty excited about that, there was so much more I could do with this new lab, 'today was a very good day' was my last thought before sleep takes me,
When my conscious returned I was in a blank space and in front of me stood a door, giving a quick look around to make sure there was nothing more I made my way to the door which opened automatically, without a second thought I walked through it,
Standing before me was a computer like the one I had in my lab, I approached it and looked at the words on the screen,
'Welcome to the Repository of Knowledge'
I put my hand on the screen to unlock it but instead I was assaulted by knowledge of what it was and how to use it,
' It fucking hurt but damn this is a gold mine' I thought while laughing hysterically it took a few second to calm down and even then there was still a big smile on my face,
' Well it looks like superintelligence was not the only gift the one who sent me here gave me', this repository was a compilation of technology from every Sci Fi (tv show, film, etc) of my last world and it was possible to applicate this technology in my new life,
'This is incredible' I though while browsing through the repository, with that some of my projects will be completed much sooner, Earth and her colonies will be much better prepared for the Covenant if I play my card right, but the more I scrolled the more it became clear to me that the different forms of FTL were missing before I could search more I was assaulted with more information,
Those pieces of information contained a lot about slipspace, so much that I could build a Covenant grade slipspace drive,
'So I can only use Slipspace for FTL well it doesn't matter' I thought
before continuing to look through all the data,
I decided to continue with my goals because I cannot be too hasty, if I were to introduce a lot of new techs everyone would become suspicious and O.N.I will be on me faster than I could say, Poof
I nodded to myself before I felt my consciousness returning to my body.
