Chapter 67: Tis a Plan?

"You're sure about this information?"

Draco nods, his smirk exuding self-satisfaction. "But of course. I found the note in his book I borrowed from him while he's in the infirmary." He shakes his head in derision. "The fool."

I raise an eyebrow while looking at him curiously. "You borrowed a book from him? Why? Aren't yours in, like, much better condition? And more up-to-date?"

It's obvious that as more information is discovered, they'd have to update the books about the basics of a subject. Like when it was discovered what ingredients will cause a large explosion when put in a potion. I've tested that warning out quite extensively on rest days. At least after I got lectured for trying to do them in class.

Draco rolls his eyes. "Obviously. But I needed an excuse to enter the hospital wing in order to antagonize and taunt him. Imagine him outright telling me not to talk about the dragon and getting himself and your brother expelled!" He chuckles while I roll my eyes this time.

"You're one to talk, considering we're in the middle of the common room." I pan my eyes around the room in an exaggerated fashion to make my point. Luckily for us we're the only ones here, with Tracy doing some last minute brushing up on dragon growth spurts or something in the library. Daphne is in the dorm room studying, and Pansy and Millicent are… somewhere else.

"Besides," I continue. "I don't want Harry to be expelled. I'd be more than happy to see Weasley's back, but I want my brother to stay."

He huffs at me. "Are you certain about that? I'm fairly certain that the whole school has heard about what happened when the two of you last talked."

I scowl at the reminder. After learning about the dragon, and coming up with ways to steal it, I'd decided to give them a chance of simply giving it to me. Or at least letting me hang out with it, barring all else. I'd even come up with all kinds of arguments on why they should: ranging from heartfelt interest in such a powerful creature, to outright threats on informing Professor Snape.

Honestly. Their wariness of him at this point is just ridiculous.

But what happens when I try to talk with them? Hermione… well, Hermione at least looked guilty when she hurried off somewhere to avoid me. It hurt my feelings quite a bit, especially with how Harry looked at me with suspicion. Hopefully after the whole dragon thing is resolved, she'll have the decency to apologize to me.

Weasley responded how I expected him to, with a sneer and a crumpled nose. It's a mystery… His face just looks more and more punchable every time I see him. I'm not going to explode him. For now at least. I do enjoy my little prank contests with Fred and George after all, and I'd hate it if we were to get on bad terms because I killed their brother.

'Maybe I could get him to get himself eaten by that giant dog…'

But anyways, the incident Draco was referring to is how when I asked Harry to talk to me without Weasley around, he blew up at me! (Metaphorically) And not in a good way.

He started shouting about how Weasley had "warned" him about how I'm working for Professor Snape now, and that I betrayed our twinly bond. Suffice to say that the other students in the corridor were watching this with great interest.

So they all had front row seats- 'I still find that expression weird to use for people who are standing'- when I decked him across the face and knocked him to the floor.

I stomped away in a huff while he watched from the floor in shock while holding his cheek. Though since his glasses had flown off of his face I doubt that he could actually see me when I left.

Shaking my head clear of the memory, I glare at Draco. "Despite our… difficulties at the moment, we're still twins. That's not a bond that's easily broken. Just look at Fred and George: a prime example of twin power!"

He dismisses my assertion with a shrug, already having been on the receiving end of my lectures on how twin bonds are superior to sibling bonds before. Sure, Harry and I aren't exactly showing that ourselves at the moment, but…

I sigh, tossing the thought aside. I'm positive that we'll work things out at some point. But not as long as the bloody little Weasley is around. Maybe we can work things out over the summer, while finding a new place to live on the wizardly side of the world.

Sure, we could live with Clarity, but we've already lived eleven years as muggles. And we hated every moment of it. Now that we're part of the magical community, I want to see how it is living on this side! We'll still keep in contact with Clarity of course, though I'm not sure how her parents will feel about the owls randomly showing up at their house.

Eh, they'll get used to it.

"But getting back to the matter at hand, we're ambushing them on Saturday when they're moving the dragon. Of course we'll be hidden under the Invisibility Cloak I got for Christmas, though we can expect them to be doing the same."

I frown. "It's more of a question of where we ambush them. Should it be not long after they've entered the castle? Or maybe when they get close to the Astronomy tower and they let down their guards thinking they're safe?"

He taps his chin in thought. "It would likely be best to do it around the middle of their journey. That way we don't have to worry about them getting help from either the oaf or the people taking it. What I'm worried about is how we'll be able to find them while they're under their own Cloak."

I smirk. "Leave that to me~."

`~`

"I challenge the two of you to a Gryffindor prank-off!"

Fred and George exchange amused glances before looking back at my outstretched finger.

"You know-"

"What that-"

""Means, right?""

I nod my head, long used to them alternating who's speaking their sentences. "Of course I do. Next month will be a Slytherin prank-off." A sly smile crosses my face. "But to make it interesting, let's put a condition on."

""A condition?"" They echo.

I nod again. "We're only allowed to prank them with things that will force them to give off a strong scent, but won't affect the places they go. No leaving trails of smells to bother anyone else, just the people who are in the same area as them."

George rubs his chin in thought while Fred taps his own. "A challenge, eh? That does add on to the level of difficulty."

Fred smirks. "But given how much more experience we have, you might be giving yourself a hard time with this. A rookie is still a rookie!"

I let the confidence in my smirk tell them what I think of their advantage, and the challenge is on. By the time night rolls around, the two members of the Golden Trio transporting the dragon will be easily found by scent alone!

I'm so looking forward to tonight~.
