Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Approval letter
The day after Edwin's confrontation with Moody he could feel his eye on him during breakfast and he knew that If it was actually Moody there isn't a problem but he still couldn't shake the feeling that Barty somehow found a way to avoid the map from Peter.
After all, someone who works under Bartemius Crouch Sr. visited Peter before his trial and Edwin got stuck on the fact that there might be a chance that Barty might still be posing as Moody and Edwin had almost no chance of finding out until the Goblet of fire as neither Moody nor Barty would let their guard down around Edwin after that incident.
The day went by smoothly until Edwin was called into Snape's office, Edwin walked into the office and for the first time Snape wasn't doing paperwork but was reading a book a muggle books no less "Professor Snape that's a great Book "Edwin said as he saw the title that says 'journey to the center of the earth'
"It's readable "Snape replied and put the book down "about our extra classes they would return to normal"
"That great "Edwin replied with a nervous smile "but can we use an empty classroom "
"Why "Snape asked as he positioned himself to sit up "shouldn't the chamber be more suitable or is it too occupied to be used"
Hearing what Snape said Edwin knew what happens someone talked about the four houses "Should have used the curses "Edwin mutter softly as he placed a slight smile on his face ready to lie "It's just too gloomy and wouldn't a classroom be easier to access "
"it's just strange I heard a rumor about a rather large club in Hogwarts… they even have a unique system finding members "Snape said as he got up from his chair and walked towards Edwin.
"But that's not the strangest thing "Snape stated looking Edwin in his eyes" the rumor goes that the club is located in the chamber of secrets but that's impossible right "
Edwin decided to come clean with the four houses and tell Snape the truth as Snape has so far never betrayed his trust, Snape was mostly okay with the four houses idea but he still had a few questions to why Edwin didn't just ask Dumbledore to create a club instead of hiding it from the teachers.
"it's a secret "Edwin replied and received a glare from Snape who didn't press on the matter, in fact, Edwin himself didn't understand why the club had to be secret as he could just make a secret room for the emergency.
The following weeks Edwin continues with his everyday routine to try to avoid more suspicion from Moody/Barty but it didn't work as normal was weird to Moody he kept Edwin close during his classes and would make sure to stand behind him during any spell demonstration.
"Edwin, why is Moody after you, "Daphne asked Edwin as they were walking to their table for breakfast.
"He's just crazy everyone knows that "Edwin calmly replied as he took his seat and noticed that Dumbledore and most of the teachers were at the head table.
"Everyone I have an announcement to make, "Dumbledore said standing up "I have brought up the unfair age requirement with Ministry and the other Headmasters"
The noisy grand hall turned quite in anticipation for the hopefully good news, Edwin felt like Dumbledore didn't say the whole thing just to create the anticipation.
"The other headmasters agreed that condition would be good enough to protect the students but the Ministry didn't think so" Hearing Dumbledore words everyone let of a sigh of disappointment.
"that being said we didn't give up and Ministry will allow the underage students to enter the Triwizard tournament under the strict conditions that there must be parents signed approval, a recommendation from the School Defense against the dark arts teacher and three other teachers including the Headmaster"
The student groaned at the amount of thing they will need to take part and Edwin wasn't any different as they only difficulty in getting the approval for the Triwizard tournament would be getting Moody's recommendation.
During the day the owlery was empty as the most underage student tried to get their parents approval and during Lunch, there was a large number of howlers screaming that they were insane and a quite a few of students shouting that their parents signed their approval,
Mrs. Weasley had sent Howlers to the twins and Ron after they asked for approval, no one in the Slytherin house received a Howler but only approval with just a few rejections, Draco and Theodore got their approval not long after they send their owl.
"Edwin aren't you going to send Nightwing, "Isabella asked Edwin who kept looking at the letter he would have to send.
"Yeah I'll send it later "Edwin replied even though Edwin didn't need to send the letter as it is a full moon and Ivan would be coming to give him further instruction on the Animagus transformation" what about you aren't you sending one "
"nope "Isabella replied with a smile" Don't want to take everyone's else chance of winning"
"You sure it doesn't have anything to do with the spiders that might be there, "Daphne said with a smile as she transforming Isabella spoon into a sliver spider "after all it's their favorite creature and yours "
Edwin thought of the best way to ask Ivan to let him participate in the Triwizard tournament but he couldn't find a good way to ask and just decide to just ask and hope for the best and as usual, before lights out, Edwin was in the chamber with his friends.
Where the twins were practicing their parents signature "that won't work Fred "Hermione said as she looked over his shoulder "it won't be so simple after all Dumbledore must have charmed the paper "
"It worked "Fred shouted as he wrote his parents name "George it worked nothing happen "
"Wouldn't be so sure "Edwin stated as he saw the burning letter and when Fred saw it he quickly tried to put it out but nothing could stop the fire when the letter was completely destroyed the fire disappear as though it was never there that day many fires started and disappear around Hogwarts.
