Chapter 2: Chapter 2.
After I finished changing. I walked into the other room. I only found Kyle and Lawrence.
"How was it?" asked Kyle
" It was ok....although painful," I replied.
"Oh don't worry that's how my mom's tattoos are I even have one," said Lawrence while showing me a tattoo of an angel on his arm.
Just then Regina walked in.
" Thanks again for the free tattoo," I said.
"Uh..guys I think we should be heading out. Home is quite far and Claire here shouldn't be late," said Kyle.
"Ok bye thanks for stopping by oh and tell your friends," said Regina.
"Bye and see you around," said Lawrence.
As we were heading out, Kyle said he had to one last thing and told me to go ahead and wait in the car. I was too tired to argue so I just went on. While in the car I saw Regina's head on the bonnet! I was so freaked out! I couldn't even scream.
Just then Kyle came in. When I looked again the head wasn't there.
"Hey, are you ok?" asked Kyle.
"Yeah, yeah , let's just go home," I replied.
" Ok then," said Kyle.
I just took another nap and Kyle woke me up when we arrived it was exactly nine minutes to seven in the evening. He walked me to my door.
"Thanks for a good date," I said.
"You're welcome. I'm glad you had a fun day plus a free tattoo," said Kyle and we both laughed.
"Have a good night Mr. Chandler," I said while tiptoeing to kiss him.
He kissed back and pulled away after a while and left. I entered the house and Dad was watching football as usual, mom was making dinner.
"Hey sweetie how was your date?" asked mom.
"It was good," I said.
"I'll be in my room call me when dinner is ready!" I said while running upstairs.
"Ok honey," said Mom.
I ran upstairs to my room. I took a bath and wore my pajamas. I charged my phone and went to Tyler's room.
" Hey can I come in?" I asked while knocking on his door.
"Yeah sure," he replied.
"What were you up to?"
"I just ended Face Time with Maddie."
"Oh, ok."
" How was your date?" He asked.
" It was good actually I even got a free tattoo," I said while showing him the tattoo.
" Not bad," he said.
Just then we heard mom tell us dinner was ready. We went downstairs. It was lasagna. After dinner, I went up to my room to brush my teeth and video call Emma.
"Hey Emma."
"Hey Claire. How was the date? Give me every single detail."
" Ok so he came over to pick me up and gave me a kiss. He then took me to this place out of town. After lunch we visited his friend called Lawrence. His mom owns a tattoo parlour. She even gave me one free of charge!"
"Whoa that was nice."
"I know! But here is the crazy part. I kept seeing her head on Kyle' s bonnet."
" Now that's creepy, but you probably saw your own things."
"Yeah maybe you're right and I'm just overreacting. Goodnight."
"Goodnight," said Emma.
Just then I got a text from Kyle.
*Hey. So Mrs. Brooks invited us over for dinner tomorrow. Goodnight.*
*Ok, goodnight.*
I slept soundly. The next morning I woke up and my back was paining. I hadn't told anyone about the tattoo except Tyler. I didn't know how my parents would take it.
When I went to my bathroom, I saw Mrs. Brooks' head again on the sink. I put my hand on my mouth and left the bathroom.
I quickly texted Emma and told her what had happened. She came over as fast as she could.
"So you saw it again? We have to investigate this Brooks family. How about today?" asked Emma.
"No we can't do it today. Kyle is still taking me there for dinner. We'll do it tomorrow, " I said.
"Ok...but be careful today, " said Em.
"Ok I will, " I said.
"Wanna get some breakfast?"
" Sure, I love your mom's cooking, " said Emma.
We went down to have breakfast. As usual, Tyler was already there. I mean he is ever punctual when it comes to food.
"Good Morning guys, " Emma and I both said.
They all responded. Today mom had made pancakes.
I usually ate my pancakes with chocolate syrup.
"Hey Mom, where is the syrup?" I asked her.
"It's in the last cupboard near the window," said Mom.
I stood up and walked to the cupboard. I opened it and took the syrup. As I closed the cupboard, I looked outside. I immediately dropped the syrup. Mrs. Brooks stood outside in a white torn dress and her blonde hair was dirty. With that I woke up in Emma's hands and was surrounded by my family.
"Honey are you ok?" Asked Mom.
"Yeah, just dizzy."
"Take her to her room, I'll come up shortly after with water and some painkillers," said Mom to Emma.
"Ok," said Emma.
She helped me up to my room and laid me on my bed.
"It was her wasn't it?" asked Emma.
I nodded in despair.
"How am I supposed to show up at their house for dinner?" I asked Emma.
"I don't think you should even go. Figuring out this whole thing is way more important ," said Emma.
It was just eight o'clock. Mom entered the room with water and medicine.
She placed the water and medicine on my nightstand and told Emma to make sure I took the medicine. She then left my room.
"We need to figure out this first before you can tell anyone."
"Even Kyle?"
"Especially Kyle."
I took the medicine and then eventually slept. I woke up at around eleven o'clock. Mom was sitting on the armchair across my bed.
"I see you woke up."
"Yup."
"How are you feeling right now, sweetie?"
"Much better thanks."
"That's good because Emma wanted to take you out just to cheer you up. If I were you, I would be in the shower."
"Ok then."
I took a shower and got dressed. I picked my car keys and went outside to meet Emma.
"I know you lied to my mom."
"I had to, I didn't want her to know that her daughter was going on a witch hunt."
"Actually, I would call it a ghost hunt," I said and we both laughed.
I drove out of town and showed Emma the restaurant when we passed by it. When we arrived at the place where the tattoo parlor was supposed to be, it wasn't there. Instead, there was a garage I had never seen before.
We got out of the car and walked towards the garage.
