Chapter 20: Plans
His past, his late entrance into the class, and his power which astonished the class, everything indicates him being the protagonist.
All I have to do is pay attention to him and I would be able to meddle with the main story.
One might say that every incident with the protagonist's involvement doesn't necessarily mean that it is related to the plot.
And it's not like I want to stalk him every day. Just the thought of it is enough to send shivers down my spine.
So how do I know in which incidents I should get involved? It's simple. The one to who will tell me is none other than Joe.
Gods aren't the type to be watching the mortals 24/7. They only pay attention to events that interest them.
Now if Joe has to give me Edit Points, then he will only pay attention to the events that are important in the original story.
That way, it would be easier for me to decide when I have to hide my abilities.
Sure there is a good chance that he won't be watching me at all. Because all he had to do was connect the Edit Pen to the fate of this world so that the points would be awarded appropriately and he wouldn't need to do a thing.
But that wouldn't be a problem at all. In fact, I couldn't ask for a better scenario than that.
I mean, who would like to be watched at any moment of their life by an unknown person? Definitely not me.
Now that this is decided, there is one other matter which I am curious about. Whether this story is a harem or not or even if it has a romance element at all.
Till now I haven't seen any clear indications as to who might be the main heroine or if there will be any side heroines.
For now, Anastasia, Amelia, Aster, Grace, and Ella are most likely to be the heroines if the story really has a romance element to it. But I can't say for sure who it is or if the story really has a female lead.
To be honest, I am not that interested in the MC's love life nor do I have any intentions to get involved with them.
The only reason I am interested in this matter is due to Amelia Black.
To me, Amelia is someone who has been deeply hurt due to my past actions even if it had been before my memories awakened.
Whenever I think about her, I always feel discomfort in my heart.
I want nothing more than Amelia to lead a happy life. And I want to do everything in my power so that she can be happy even if I have to turn the entire earth upside down.
I won't deny that I am doing this due to the guilt I have towards her. However, that be, I genuinely wish for her happiness. In fact, even I don't know why I feel so strongly towards her.
My emotions turn into a real mess whenever I think about her. If not for being numb to these feelings in my past life, then I would definitely not be able to interact with her.
With each passing moment, the questions in my mind only grew in number and I didn't have any answers to them.
Heaving a sigh to relax my mind, I decided to think about it later.
For now, I decided to see about the pen like Joe told me.

Create an enjoyable story? I have to entertain him?
In an instant, the entire room was filled with killing intent.
Windows and doors started to rattle as if an earthquake had hit the room. A few objects and utensils fell to the floor due to the vibrations. If continued, it seemed like the entire building might collapse.
"Haaaaah..."
It took a lot of patience to control myself. I was so concentrated on figuring out the details of the story that I didn't notice the main point till now.
That I would be nothing more than an entertainment tool for the Gods.
Just the fact that I have to entertain those Gods of all people infuriated me to no end. If it had been in my previous life then I would have been able to stay calm but now even a little of Lucas's emotions is enough to make me lose control of myself.
I was angry to the point that I even started to consider destroying this world.
"Haaaaaah...." I let out another sigh in order to calm down.
There is no helping it. Even if it feels nauseating, I have no choice but to hide my strength for now.
To relieve my mood I decided to resume the task which I was about to do,
Unlocking the AI assistant.
In my previous life, when mana was still not present, computers held the greatest power. They even do now, but seeing things how they are, that period might as well been the Golden era of computers.
Most people today are all fighters, which resulted in little to no innovation in science and technology. Sure, today's technology is advanced compared to my previous life but the foundations of it all were already established in my previous life.
Like how the floating trains were based on Maglev, a Virtual world based on augmented reality and many such technologies had already laid the foundation.
If there was any difference, then it would be the usage of mana for such devices.
And for me, who was one of the greatest hackers of my time, unlocking the AI is child's play.
Feeling motivated, I held my smart bracelet and started to work on it. After 2 minutes of fiddling with the bracelet, I was finally able to unlock the AI.
[AI assistant Athena at your service. What do you want me to do Sir Lucas Morningstar?]
"First, don't call me Morningstar from now on. Just Lucas is fine."
Just listening to that name annoys me to no end.
[Understood. Will Sir Lucas suffice.]
"Yeah, that's good. I will call you later if I need anything."
[.....Why did you call me for?]
"Oh, it was nothing. I just wanted to check whether I successfully unlocked you or not. You can go to deactivate mode."

"Is there a problem?"

Just like that, I was able to unlock my AI assistant without a hitch. Though it would be hard to use it openly.
