Chapter 29: Interlude: Just a R.O.B.‘s daily Business
He had not had a great time.
When He decided to reincarnate a few humans from the earth number one with the wishes trope He had intentionally picked some He knew would wish to be reincarnated into Harry Potter, well that was what He though in the beginning at least.
Not that this was His only grievance.
The first guy He met wanted to be reincarnated into Overlord instead for some strange reason.
Luckily for Him the reincarnator did not think too much about his wishes before speaking them; and that despite not having many in the first place!
He immediately asked to be reincarnated into Overlord as Ulbert Alain Odle without a level cap.
And just like this his three wishes were all gone without him having stated when he wanted to be reincarnated at all.
He was grabbed by panic when He told him about this, apparently he wasn't stupid enough to not understand the implications this had for him, he had just though he would be able to negotiate a bit over the wishes.
The next moment he found himself as he wished as Ulbert in Overlord, but he was still in Yggdrasil and he was not in Nazarick, did not have his equipment as he gave it to Momonga for safekeeping and it was only second before the server shutdown.
The only thing not completely infuriating about all of this was that He would from then on be able to go back to watching the misery of Mr. I-wanna-be-Ulbert whenever He was consumed by rage over this fail.
And this misery was great, great enough to let this first reincarnator sink deeply into depression with no chance of ever getting well again.
He was petty enough to even let the reincarnator keep his memories just to be able to witness his descent into madness.

Then came the second reincarnator, this time He had been extra careful to get the right human to make sure he would not be faced with disappointment again.
At least that was what He thought he had done.
The reincarnator did indeed choose the Harry Potter world but since he only had three wishes again he just wished to be reincarnated into Harry Potter while keeping his memories and with the ultimate mind arts talent.
Excited for this one He immediately granted the wishes and decided to spin the wheel for the reincarnator's origin, after all a bit of gambling could never hurt.
Well, the reincarnator who was reincarnated as a muggleborn with barely any magic and an abusive family would surely beg to differ, but He didn't care and just blamed it on his bad luck, excited how His chosen one would deal with the situation.
Then the reincarnator became a twisted and evil child with no care for morals or boundaries and just did what he wanted.
Apparently he also had quite the libido considering what he did to a few girls from the original series with his powers, not caring about their ages.
After seeing what His chosen one did even He became disgusted; He wasn't a big fan of morals but even He had His own code of conduct which was the only reason He even gave His chosen ones any wishes and this did not fit into these borders.
So He picked another Harry Potter world and another human, this time He was a bit more carefully while searching and also decided to give this one a better childhood whatever his wishes would be.
And He was not disappointed at first, this one was able to get four wishes and used them wisely by becoming a highly talented descendant of the Rosier's with the ability to ask one question every ten years instead of his original wish for omniscience.
After using his gifts and questions wisely he became a well-respected wizard from the late 20th until the late 22nd century when he decided to no longer prolong his life with magic and died in the arms of his three wives.
But this didn't satisfy Him; this chosen one had just avoided any contact with the plot of Harry Potter and due to Him choosing a more shy and introverted person this time he had not dared to avoid Hermione despite Him having made sure there had been at least one or two sm*t fanfics about her in this chosen one's collection.
He still got three wives of course but two of them were just some muggles and the third one was an untalented witch from Russia with no interesting heritage.
He didn't even become some sort of business mogul as he just gave most of his creations away almost for free to „better the world".
He didn't even make any bigger contact with the non magical world.
All in all He was just extremely bored after having to watch this disappointment for almost 200 years.
So He decided to try it only one more time before giving up on the Harry Potter world and concentrating on other worlds again.
Again He gave His best to learn from earlier mistakes and found another candidate and a new version of the Harry Potter world even though he didn't really make sure it was an authentic version this time, but that shouldn't be a problem, right?
This time He was again not disappointed with his amount of wishes even though He was a bit pissed the new chosen one decided to ask for a system but used the half wish to turn it into a mere annoyance with barely any real use.
But then he was favourably surprised when his new chosen one did great in his early years in comparison to the other ones.
He also noticed He had apparently sent this one to an au version of the Harry Potter world and used a bit of His power to make sure the plot would still not change too much around a few points He really wanted to happen if His chosen one didn't change them.
But after a while He was more and more annoyed with one specific part of all of this:
The „system".
He thought He would not care too much about something like this, after all what bad could this really do?
But it annoyed Him more and more how He had given His only interesting chosen one a completely useless power so He decided to intervene once again, justifying it before Himself by saying it was just a patch to a bad system, He would cut out parts of it and instead give something good in turn.
He would just make His new chosen one able to only see magic power but instead of just for him it would work on anyone in sight.
This would take away most of the useless things and give His chosen one the ability to gauge the strength of people he saw.
