Chapter 12: Distracting Queen
Kate's POV
Don't talk to strangers. A basic preschool lesson that should be practiced for the rest of our life. There is a prominent danger of talking with a stranger especially online that most teens and young adults like me failed to realize until its too late.
Anyway, Queen is still below the legal age so I have to make the right decision. We could call back the unknown sender and tell him to stop being a creep. But I see no relevance in wasting my time to a stranger when I can let the authorities handle the matter.
There are three patrol cars parking when my phantom pulled over the police station. As we entered, a female officer inquired about our concern.
I told her the event that transpired on the boutique. Even the post that Queen made since my instinct says there is a strong connection between the two.
Then the officer asked some of my personal information as well as Queen's information for their records. After answering and getting our response, she guided us to a table and started asking questions.
"When did you say the incident happened?" the officer started.
"About an hour ago..." I trailed looking at the policewoman straight in the eye.
"Do you know the person who sent the text message?" she added while scribbling in her pad.
"We don't. At least not yet but we will be." I told her with a determined tone.
"We can make interventions. We can invite the person and both parties will have a talk at this station and come to an agreement." The policewoman said and explained to us the rest of the procedure.
After filling a police report, we headed straight to our apartment. As we arrived, Queen headed to the living room and jump on the couch. She curled her body while hugging a pillow tightly. I felt a deep wave of sympathy hits me.
"Let's enter a dungeon!" I announced.
Sometimes, playing online is an effective distraction. Perhaps, Queen can release her stress inside the game.
I saw Candace and Lorraine automatically unlocked their phone.
"Let's do 5v5 PVP (five players playing against five opponents) instead!" Candace suggested while logging in the game.
"Send your invite, Ace!" Lorraine beamed and suddenly runs towards the dining room. When she returns, four bottles of water are in her hands.
After several minutes the four of us are already in the lobby of the game.

"Let's wait for my friend. He is about to enter. Anyway, our mission here is to obtain 20 bloodbaths. Whoever completes the mission first will be victorious." Candace quickly goes through the explanation of the mode that we are playing.
"How many are the kills needed to trigger bloodbath, Ace?" Queen casually asked my sister.
"Just four. It's equivalent to quadra kill, Queen." Candace responded without glancing at her.
"So we will play safe and avoid deaths instead of playing aggressively?" Lorraine inquired about our game strategy.
"Ideally but TYPHOON will be joining so there is no need to hold back..." Candace declared then I saw our fifth member entered the lobby.

I stared at my phone screen where the progress bar appears. Then I secretly glanced at Queen while waiting for the system to show our opponent.
I heard Raine speaks with her usual request and asked our new teammate to open his mic but my sister told her the guy does not like to. Raine pouted her lips but did not speak anymore.

"Which map are we going to use?" I asked.
"It's random, Kate..." Candace replied. I nodded my head and saw my character teleported on rocky terrain. Alone!
"What the heck? Why am I alone?" Lorraine gasp in a panic tone.
"We can regroup! It's a game strategy to spawn everyone in a random location of the map. Be careful, you might bump into our enemy!" Candace said.
"Oh no... There's a big guy here! The one with IGN destroyer!" Queen announced and I saw her straightened her sitting position.
"Run on your left, Queen! I saw your character, I will intercept." I said then aimed my gun at the avatar with a destroyer name.
"Bang!"
"Oh geez! The guy is a tank! My bullet has a few damages on his HP! (Health Points or in-game character's life)" I muttered and fired more bullets on him.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
"No way! This is a cheat!" I exclaimed when I saw his health bar becomes full!
"Why?" Candace asked.
"His regeneration is abnormal!" I quickly answered.
"It is probably in his armor that gives him max regen! Just run, for now, I am looking for the best position in the terrain." Candace muttered then I heard a loud explosion sounded in the background.
BOGSH!

BLOODBATH! [1]
"What was it? A bomb?" Lorraine inquired softly.
"It's a grenade. They will respawn, be careful!" Candace's warning was a little too late as the avatar with the IGN Cold spawned in front of me!
"Ah!" The sudden appearance of his avatar in front of the screen caught me by surprise!
I almost dropped my phone and in the process, my character failed to block nor dodge his attack!
"Hahaha Kate, your startled face looks funny!" I heard Lorraine giggling.
Two hours. That's how long is the duration of our match! Our opponents went on full defensive mode and scattered in a different location after their grenade deaths.
It's only Ace and his friend TYPHOON who triggered the bloodbath until we accumulated 20 counts. The remaining three of us are either running or dying!
"That was fun! Hahaha" Lorraine laughed hysterically while looking at the result. I died 80 times!
"Yeah, you are best in doing the home run! All you do is running, Raine." Candace playfully told Lorraine. Raine died 74 times.
"Well, Queen was in death-bath instead of a blood bath!" Lorraine joked as Queen got the highest death among the five of us. She died 218 times!
"Hey! This is my first time playing this kind of map." Queen pleaded while pouting at her screen.
"Nah, some players got more than five hundred deaths. Our deaths are pretty low." Candace stated.
"I'm logging off. What do you want for dinner?" I asked them while keeping my phone in my pocket.
"How about we order pizza? I'm craving some pepperoni." Queen suggested as she also logs off.
"Pizza night sounds good! I'll go call for delivery." Lorraine volunteered and went to the counter where the telephone is placed.
"We have to do beauty rest tonight so that we won't look stress tomorrow. Don't play too much, Ace." I told my sister before I stood up and went to the dining area.
After 20 minutes, the pizza delivery arrived. Candace turned on our plasma TV and played some comedy films on the remote. Then we ate in the living room silently while watching the film.
"What will you wear tomorrow, Kate?" Queen quietly asked beside me.
"I work in The Regency, Queen. I might as well appear wearing our company uniform." I replied giggling at the film in front of us.
"But it's an event, Kate. You can't appear wearing your uniform." Lorraine interrupted.
"It will give me more than convenience, Raine." I casually replied.
"Oh, then I'm gonna wash our new dress. Guys, I'll place our outfits in the washing machine and put them on the dryer." Lorraine then walked towards the laundry room carrying three paper bags in her hands and a pizza in the other.
"I will head to sleep now. Good night, guys." I heard Queen yawned and stood up.
"Good night, Queen." Lorraine peeks her head from our laundry room and shouted while still chewing her pizza.
Queen waved her hand to her before she turned her back and walked away. My eyes follow her movement until she went inside her room.
"Ace, tell your friend to trace this phone number. We need any information about the person's identity." I handed my phone to my sister to show her the contact number of the person who sent a creepy message to Queen.
"I'll send you the details later, Kate..." Candace responded as she started typing on her phone.
"Alright, I'm also heading to sleep. Do not respond just in case some strangers will knock outside. We don't know who that person yet." I reminded them. Lorraine gestured a thumbs up while my sister nodded her head.
I slowly headed to our main door and double-checked if everything is locked before I went to my room. After closing the door of my room, I ran a quick half bath and then went to sleep.
