Chapter 49: A Date?

Brian pursed his lips and frowned. He couldn't even defend himself. Whatever Daniel had said was true. He indeed did not have an outstanding reputation. But it still hurt when it came to the woman he liked.

Owen sighed and patted Brian's shoulder. "I can totally relate to you, brother. It will never be easy for us to clear our names even though we did nothing wrong. We were just enjoying life, and yet we have to pay this price."

"Look, Brian, I am not judging you, but that is probably how Anna feels," Daniel remarked. "She doesn't wanna trust you because she knows you aren't someone who sticks around for a long time. Maybe she feels you'll get tired after a week or so and just walk away, pretending that nothing ever happened between the two of you."
