Chapter 2: Prologue
It's been twelve years since that time.
"Tadashi! Hurry up, we'll need to say hello to our new neighbors."
"Yes, mom."
...
Our new neighbors lives just right besides our house. It's very close, only a couple of steps away.
*Rings the doorbell*
When I rang the doorbell it only took a couple of seconds before I heard footsteps coming.
*Click*
The door opened and I was greeted by a beautiful woman with a little girl holding her hand.
"Hello, I'm Sumaku Shiori, we're your neighbor living next-door."
Mom was the one who first spoke as she introduced herself.
"Hello, I'm Hasegawa Katsumi. I'm really sorry for not greeting you earlier, Mrs. Sumaku. We were quite busy with the moving going on."
The beautiful woman, Hasegawa Katsumi slightly bowed her head, apologizing to mom.
"It's all right, Mrs. Hasegawa, or rather we should be the one apologizing for the sudden visit. I hope we didn't cause any inconvenience for your family."
Mom also slightly bowed herself.
"No, nothing at all. We were pretty much done with the moving."
"That's a relief."
Mom sighed in relief before looking at me.
"Come on, introduce yourself and give them your gift."
I nodded handing the basket filled with fruits in my hand.
"I'm Sukamu Tadashi, nice to meet you aunt Hasegawa and...
I looked at the cute little girl in front of me, judging by how she is trying to hide behind her mother's back. She should be shy or wary towards us.
Aunt Hasegawa received the basket in my hand then nudging the little girl that hung tightly on her arm.
"Suzune, go on and introduce yourself."
"Uh... um... hello aunt Sumaku and Sumaku-kun. My name is Hasegawa Suzune."
The little girl although shy but still introduced herself to both mom and me.
"Suzune-chan, you can call me aunt Shiori and you can call my son as Tadashi, too."
Mom went close and patted the little girl's head, smiling gently.
The little girl Hasegawa Suzune nodded her head twice.
"Um... hello, aunt Shiori and Tadashi-kun."
The little girl slowly spoke.
"You can also stop using honorifics Katsumi-san, if it's okay with you. I'm sure that both our family will be really close soon."
Mom smiled while looking at both me and the little girl, Hasegawa Suzune.
"I'm fine with it Shiori-san... and Tadashi-kun, you can also call me aunt Katsumi."
Aunt Hasegawa, no, Aunt Katsumi nodded in agreement to mom before looking at me, smilingly.
"I understand aunt Katsumi... and is it okay if I call you Suzune?"
I smiled and nodded to aunt Katsumi before asking the little girl, Hasegawa Suzune.
"Mn, it's okay.
Suzune nodded her head in approval.
"I'm sorry for taking your time Katsumi-san if you need anything you can call me, our house is just right beside each other after all. Also Suzune-chan. You can come to our house anytime and play with Tadashi."
"It's fine Shiori-san and I'm also sorry for not properly receiving you. You even had the time prepare us a gift. It's very much appreciated.
We'll make sure to visit your family soon. I'm thankful, really. For Suzune to have someone she could play with on her age. I'm very happy to hear it."
Aunt Katsumi slightly bowed herself again, having a beautiful smile on her face. I guess she really is happy for her daughter. To maintain that smile I should always play with Suzune from now on.
"I see, don't worry my son will come and play with her often... then we will be going now. Katsumi-san if you need anything our house is happy to welcome you."

That was the start of the close relationship of the Hasegawa Family and the Sukamu Family.
