This was the right direction, he concluded. The ring didn't tell him how far they were from the village, but they would find it when they ran into the barrier.

This ring was what all of the elves used to find their way in the forest's dense vegetation, and was also what they used to enter and exit the village. Without it, there was no way to exit or enter the barrier.

Like everything else Morne had gotten from the elves, it had been fitted to his irregular size, and soon enough, a pulse of Chimh spread out with it as the center. A section of the forest ahead split in two like parted seas, revealing the village within.

Morne and Essenla went inside, one limping and the other walking normally. The elves inside the village gave the two a concerned glance but soon turned back to their duties and various forms of entertainment.
