Chapter 2: Chapter 1

Eclipse's POV:

"Hey Warfalcon!" I greet him as I walk into his office, leaning against his desk.

"Hey SG." He smiles at me, "Sorry to do this to you, but we've got some new recruits that are causing some issues. Could you go take over their training for the day?" He asks as he gives me the puppy eyes.

I roll my eyes as I stand up straight, "Yeah sure. I'll have them in ship-shape before long, don't worry."

I walk outside and towards the outdoor training area, admiring the gorgeous day. As I refocus my attention I see the group of students sitting and chatting on the grass as one of the senior heroes fought for their attention.

"Hey Starshooter!" I greet the hero.

"Hey Stronggirl. They are impossible." She replied with a frustrated sigh.

"Don't worry, I'll handle them. Why don't you go do whatever you need for training?"

"You're a lifesaver, though I honestly don't know who to feel more sorry for." Starshooter chuckles as I roll her eyes at her.

Somehow I had gotten the rep as the toughest hero... Not sure how, though I'm sure that the way I dress helps. I look down at my black suit with a shrug before I turn my attention to the students in front of me.

"Excuse me, May I have your attention please?" I ask in an attempt to be polite.

When that didn't work I purse my lips together and blew hard, producing a shrill whistle that carried over all the noise.

"Now that I've got your attention..." I begin as the students become quiet, rubbing their ears and glaring at me in annoyance as I grin. Ok, maybe that's the real reason.

"I'm Stronggirl, Second in command here at the academy, and your teacher for the day."

"You?" a girl in the center pipes up with a smirk.

"Yeah me, got a problem with that?" I ask with a raised eyebrow, surprised that someone stood up to me with my rep.

"Yeah actually, I've been here a week and I barely see you do anything."

"Then you obviously haven't been paying attention. Do you not know who I am?"

"Nope." She replied, popping the p, "And I honestly don't care, goth girl, because I'm pretty sure I could beat you with one hand behind my back."

"Oh really? What's your name hotshot?" I sneer, surprised that she hadn't heard of me.

"Fiesta."

"Ah yes I remember seeing your file yesterday. You have super strength, super speed, and plasma that act as fireworks."

Fiesta rolls her eyes, "Who cares what you know and what you don't know? You all stink. I bet I could run this place better than any of you."

"Oh really? In order to do that then you would have to challenge me. Is that what you're doing?"

"You know what? Yeah I am." Fiesta smirks as she stands, her friends cheering her on.

"Alright then." I nod, keeping down the grin and replacing it with a relaxed look.

I turn and lead her into the arena, explaining the terms of the challenge to her as we walked. "In order to be the leader then you have to first beat me in a one on one battle with no weapons, then Warfalcon. Got it?"

I take off my utilities belt and tossed it to the side.

"Alright let's get this show on the road already!" Fiesta announces as she throws her own utility belt to the side before sending a firework blast at me.

With a flick of my wrist, I deflect the blast easily.

"You're going to have to do better than that if you want any chance of winning." I grin slyly at the girl.

Fiesta snarls at me as she sends blast after blast and each one is effortlessly deflected. Fiesta becomes frustrated as she continues to miss and my face turns into a cocky grin.

"Is this really the best you can do?" I laugh, egging her on as the girl glares at me.

Her face grows red as she hears her friends whispering around her. Letting out an angry shriek, she rushes me. Without hesitation I step to the side, letting the girl plow by me.

Unfortunately for her, she didn't realize that I had inched back until I was almost pressed into the wall and it was too late to stop as she slammed into it. No sooner had she collided with the hard wall, I pin her to it. My forearm on the base of her neck and shoulder kept her from moving as my other hand pinned her free arm to the wall.

"Give in!" I command as the young girl struggles against me, blocking out the lewd thoughts that enter my mind as her hips grind against mine in her struggle. What the heck is wrong with me?!

"Ok... ok... I give." The girl pants after wearing herself out.

I step back and look at the rest of the group, bringing my breath back under control. "Anyone else?"

At the vigorous shaking of heads, I continue, "Good, now everyone to the obstacle course."

They turn and hurry to obey me.

Later that evening, as everyone reconvenes in the cafeteria, Warfalcon meets up with me and gives a low whistle.

"Pretty quiet in here... good job."

I shrug as I look at my group, noticing the few who looked away from me in fear. "I just had to put them in their place. Excuse me for a second will ya?"

I get up and walk outside as I realize Fiesta wasn't with her group. I finally find her sitting at a picnic table all alone.

"Not going to join everyone else inside?" I ask as I approach her.

I see Fiesta sniff, wiping her eyes as she turns away from me. "I'm not hungry."

I raise an eyebrow. "What's wrong?"

"Like you care... just leave me alone."

"Why wouldn't I care?"

"Your life is perfect, You've got this amazing job, plenty of food and friends, and you're the most powerful person here. Let's face it, you haven't got a clue what life is like for me." Fiesta scoffs.

I laugh shaking my head, "You think my life is perfect? Far from it."

Fiesta gives me a skeptical look, "Yeah right. My parents hate me; they didn't even want me here. I had to run away even though I'm older than 18. I finally get into the academy and I screw up so badly that nobody will even look at me."

"Look I don't know what goes on at home for you guys, and I'm sorry it's so bad, but that didn't excuse your attitude."

Fiesta shrugs, "Nobody really understands me or even cares to try... so again I ask, why should you?"

"Well let's see... my birth parents abused me as a child because of my powers. The king of my planet frees me from them at the age of 5 and then on my 13th birthday I crash land on earth and my family now thinks I'm dead and I can't do anything about it. My best friend died and my twin brother blames me for his death so now he wants to kill me and because of our bond as twins I have to be careful what emotions I show and when, just in case my powers go haywire... That enough for you?"

Fiesta becomes quiet as she looks at the ground.

"Everyone has their trials. It's not what happens to us that determines who we are, it's what we do with what happens to us." I continue. "Look, We're starting an apprenticeship program and I think you will benefit from it. Why don't you fill this form out?" I hand her the form and walk away.

Anna's POV:

I stare at the paper she had set into my lap, looking up and watching as she walks away. I couldn't ignore the feeling I had when she pinned me to the wall. I felt her breath on my neck and it sent my system into overdrive.

I look back at the paper with an idea, maybe I will fill this out...

Eclipse's POV:

I hum as I walk to work the next morning. My thoughts drift to the new girl. I had caught her staring as I walked away the other day. What was she thinking?

"Hey SG! I have to talk to you." My head jerks up at Warfalcon's voice. "I got the apprenticeship forms back and somebody requested you personally."

My eyes widen, but I'm pretty sure I know the answer to my next question, "who?!"

He reaches for the papers, "Anna Flare, Fiesta."

"Really now?" I say thoughtfully "... tell her I accept." I smile, "I think it'll be fun."

I go about my day like normal, but I continue to think about Fiesta. Does she like me or something? I remember the feeling I had the day before, my breath hitching as I shake the lewd thoughts from my head once more. I growl like a wolf in frustration.
