Chapter 1: DxD 1 – Meeting within the Abyss.
'How long I had been in this place… and who was I before I came here?' A sudden thought came to the ball of light, which in fact, a soul in itself.
The soul himself, has no clue how long he has been in this place, that has nothing but pure endless darkness all around him. Because it been that long, since he came to this place, the soul already forgotten who he was, or what he did before coming here.
Only thing this soul knew about himself. That he used to be a huge fan of anime, before he died and come to this abyssal place. He was an anime geek, he wanted to call himself an otaku, however he got a feeling he wasn't Japanese himself.
When one thinks about it. It is strange for the soul, who already long forgotten his own name, who he was, or what he did before he died and came to this dark endless place. And yet, he someone could remember his knowledge of the anime culture itself.
And yet, he doesn't remember one ounce about himself. But there is a reason, why this soul of a former anime geek only recalls his knowledge of anime. But not himself.
And that reason, is boredom. The endless boredom the soul has, in this abyssal place, that has no end. No matter how much he wanders around, there is nothing in this darkness besides himself. Because of that, his boredom became as endless as this abyss-like place before him.
To pass the time, the soul replays, rereads all the anime knowledge inside his mind. And somehow, he managed to even formed a Memory Palace, with all the data of anime and other such culture in his headless head.
(AN: Is it too much? Memory Palace, I mean. It wasn't part of the original content, but seems fitting to explain, how he managed to memory all that anime knowledge, might be due to Sherlock's Mind/Memory Palace technique.)
But it isn't the only problem he has, in this abyssal bottomless place before him. For some reason, more he stayed in this abyssal place, more he felt like he is going to lose something very important here.
However, the soul himself, has no clue what this thing is. He just feels it instinctively, something is affecting him in this place, and he doesn't know what it is. Maybe it has to do with his soul itself?
Because each passing moment in this abyssal place, he felt his soul is being strengthen by something in this abyss, even if he has no clue why he knows this. He just does.
But in the end, the soul has no way to find out, why his soul is being strengthened for, or why he knows it being strengthened by something in this darkness before him. Instead, over time, the soul himself just lose interest, why is his soul becoming stronger, and just hope one day, he could leave this abyssal place, before his knowledge of anime also fades away, like his memories of his past.
While he floats aimlessly like usual, in this abyssal place that he like to call the Abyss, the very place he been trapped in, God knows how long.
There have been many times, the ball of light, the soul himself, thought of many things about his missing past. Did he come to the Abyss, by accident? Or did someone or something throw this poor soul inside the Abyss, to be punished?
If that is so. What kind of inhumane crime did he do, to be thrown inside this endless darkness, with nothing but darkness around him?
And yet, this orb or light, has way to tell or know why he is here for. While the only thing he could do in the Abyss, is to either wonder aimlessly, or recall his knowledge of anime to past the time yet again.
'Seriously… when will the day come for me to leave this place…? By this rate, I will become insane… wait, maybe I already am insane?' The soul thought to himself, hovering in the endless darkness of the Abyss.
However, the moment the soul thought that, the very next moment, the ball of light, suddenly halted in mid-air, when he suddenly felt like someone, or something is watching him.
This isn't the first time, he felt like someone, or something is watching him. He felt it dozens of times already in the past. First time, the feeling itself was weak, but each time he felt the gaze, this feeling only grown stronger each time he feels it.
It is one of the reasons, why this ball of light, thinks he going insane, or maybe he already is. Because no matter how many times, he tried called out, no words come out of his mouthless mouth, since he just a soul.
In the end, the soul just thought he going crazy, from the loneliness, since he is the only one in the Abyss.
However, for some reason, this gaze this time around, feels like it getting stronger each passing second, this is the first time the soul felt this way.
'Why is it getting stronger…?' The soul thought to himself, not understanding why this gaze kept growing stronger, almost like whoever staring at him, is heading towards him?
But the moment the soul realised what's going on, before he become startled, or anything else, realising the owner of that gaze is heading towards him. All of the sudden, he felt his bodyless body become frozen, as an overwhelming pressure all of the sudden locked onto the poor confuse soul.
And to make the mater more startling, the void before the soul, began to fracture, as it started to crack like it made of glass, only for a giant red sinister looking eye behind the broken glass-like void, to stared at him.
{Interesting… normally when someone… stands before me… or stare in my eye… either my eye… or my aura… will turn them… into nothingness… how I think about it… how long as it been… since you came to my domain?}
The giant eyeball, that bigger then the Earth itself, asked the soul, who become horrified before the abyssal red eye, that stared at him. But when the soul tried to speak, but he finds himself he cannot, as he stared frightenedly at sinister abyssal eye before him.
{Right… in your terms… it will be around 4592 years… 67 days… since you came here, wasn't it? I am truly interested… why you… a soul that wandered into my domain… not only you haven't been devoured by my domain… but instead… your soul has become tainted by my aura instead… I wonder, is this what it feels like… to have a child of your own? Since I could feel… my power dwelling deep in your… soul?}
Asked the abyssal red sinister eyeball, still staring at the soul, who become startled when he heard he been in this place over 4,500 years. But soon confused, since he has no clue, what this gigantic eye meant by, his soul has been tainted by his aura.
{Kekeke… I also wanted to know… as well… but it not impossible… to have a soul… that compatible… with my powers… But never once… I think it will happen to me… it is truly a shame… little one… I been watching you… for this long… watching as your soul… become so tainted… instead of being devoured… I really wanted to know… child with my aura… what will you become in another thousand… or maybe million years… within my domain.}
{However… thanks to some annoying pests… I have no choice to get rid of you… Truly it too much of a shame… child with my aura… to destroy you… or devour you… since you nothing but a mere drop… in a vast ocean to me… at my level… and I don't want to destroy… something that feels a part of me… yes… like my own child… I want to destroy the first child… with my aura.}
Upon hearing the words, and the creepy laugh at the beginning. The soul himself, become even more frighten, fearing this might be his last day, in this place. He might wish to leave this place, but he doesn't want to be destroyed to leave this place, eternity at that either.
But relief soon filled his soul, hearing this abyssal being happened to be unwilling to destroy or devour him. Because his soul has been tainted in his aura and powers, made this gigantic monstrosity eyeball unwilling to his poor life.
Nonetheless, for some reason, when the ball of light looked at the gigantic eyeball, that bigger then Earth itself, not by a small amount. He cannot help to recall among his memories that hasn't faded, the ones based on anime culture. He remembers in many fanfictions; their openings are similar to this situation before him.
After all, no matter how much the ball of light thought about it. This gigantic eyeball, screams ROB, those beings, that can not only grant three or more wishes to those fanfic's protagonists, but even could reincarnate or transmigrate them into a fictional world of their choosing.
The reason why the soul thought of that side of anime culture, anime fanfictions. Is because, in some of them, sometimes ROBs will find wandering souls like himself, who happened to find themselves in their domain for some reason. Only to send them off to be reborn in an anime fictional world.
{Hmm… interesting… it is possible… to reincarnate you… in a world of anime… However… it cannot be among your own choosing… I am afraid. Among the worlds I am still connected to… in the vast multiverses, only three anime worlds… I still have a faint connection to. Two of them are parallel types… while one is an original type.}
When the light bulb or the soul himself, heard that, he become startled, realising this ROB like abyssal being is reading his mind. And yet when he thought about it. Isn't it the most common thing, for ROBs, to read other people minds?
Heck, if there is a book on 'How to be a ROB for idiots', he is very sure, the first topic will be how to read minds, and memories just by looking at other people.
But soon, as he put those unnecessary thoughts to the back of his mind. He soon realised what he just said, it was possible for him to be reincarnated in a fictional anime world!
Overwhelm with excitement, the soul's felt his inner otaku soul being awakened, realising he has a chance to be reborn in a world of anime itself.
Which anime geek or otaku never dreamt of being reborn in anime fictional world? To meet and speak to the very same anime characters, that you only seen behind the screen or on paper?
Experienced what it like, not behind the screen or paper, but before yourself, when something happens in the anime. Every geek, nerd, or otaku dreamed least once, what it will be like, to be that character, or be part of that world alongside with them.
And this soul is no exception, which is why he begin to danced, or more like hover around, with the mere thought of visiting that kind of world, and experiencing the life, he only can see within his Memory Palace.
{Kekeke… I am glad… you seemed delighted… my child… however… do remember… I did tell you… there only three anime worlds I am still have a faint connection to… two parallel types, and one original types…}
Hearing the abyssal ROB, the soul snapped out of it, and nodded with his headless head. As he somewhat guessed what he meant by parallel and original types.
When it comes to fanfictions, they are many kinds out there. Some follow the original canon, but normally add their protagonists to take over a character based on the already existing canon characters, or create an OC, short for Original Character, as their protagonist.
This is the Original Type, that normally follows the original storyline, with some twists, like if Natsu in Fairy Tail wasn't taken in by Igneel, but another kind of dragon, and instead becoming a Fire Dragon Slayer, he will be a Water Dragon Slayer instead.
Or having the protagonist joining Fairy Tail, changing the course of the whole canon. Original types, just means, the storyline follows the main canon, with some twists that isn't in the original canon. After all, it wouldn't be a fanfic, if it wasn't any kinds twist, wouldn't it?
While parallel types are different, and even more complicated, then original types. This is because, the element of parallel types, are elements that don't exist in the original canon. Like having other characters from different anime worlds. OCs besides the protagonist or having a crossover between two or more anime canons.
Like a Naruto fanfic, with One Piece characters as ninjas, and their Devil Fruit Powers will be formed into ninjutsu instead. This will count as a parallel fanfic, elements of other worlds, or your own original content to the mix of the original canon of the anime, or fictional work.
{You right… these three worlds… are indeed what you thought of… my child… the only Original Type world I can send you… is Dragon Ball… no defence my child… even with my power… dwelling within you… it wouldn't be easy to survive that world… so it is least recommended one… among the three worlds…}
The moment the ball of light heard the abyssal ROB's words. He not only become startled, but even fearful of even imagining being reborn in the fictional world of Dragon Ball. As he even felt all strength in his bodyless body has left his none existed body.
Don't get him wrong, it not like he dislikes Dragon Ball, in fact, he is a fan of the Dragon Ball franchise. However, being a fan of the anime or manga, and living in the universe of Dragon Ball itself, are two different things.
If anyone asks you, what are the top 3 anime worlds that the most dangerous. Without a doubt, many will pick Dragon Ball at the very top of the list. After all, in the franchise of Dragon Ball, there are countless powerful beings, and among them, are those that could destroy worlds if they made of paper!
It no wonder that this light source, became afraid of the mere thought of being summoned to that world.
{Expected… as much… As for the second option… is the first parallel type world… like you know… my child… parallel types… are fictional worlds… that has elements that shouldn't exists… like the second anime world is Fairy Tail… I recommend this one the most… since it is the safest option among the three… and what makes this parallel world of Fairy Tail special… you might be wondering… is everyone's genders are swapped… but besides that… there nothing wrong with the main plotline… of the world.}
Upon hearing the words of the abyssal ROB, for few moments, this mindless mind went blank, as he stared at the abyssal gigantic crimson red eyeball with a blank mind. Before he felt something cold down his spineless spine.
Sure, the idea of a female Natsu, Gray, or even Mirajane and Erza as males, might sound like an interesting plot for a fanfic. However! When the soul thought of them as their genders swapped, he felt like spitting out blood! Shame, his bodyless body doesn't have blood, if it did, he is very sure, he will die right now, from the lack of blood!
He doesn't mind reading a fanfic about them, but he does mind being the protagonist of such a fanfic! And for some reason… Dragon Ball sounds lesser frightening when he compared the two… strange? Wasn't this Fairy Tail should be the safest?
{I really don't see… the problem with that… shouldn't it matter… I am not the one to judge… when it comes to one's own sexual interest… But know this my child… in the many multiverses… if one work has that… the other will have the other thing… they could be evil in one world… and good in another… they might be males in another… or females instead… they might all be based on the same… Origin… but at the same time… they all different.}
{Well… there only one option left… besides Dragon Ball and Fairy Tail… that will be DxD… Keep in mind… this one is also… a parallel type… where there elements existed in that world… that shouldn't be… but the main plotline of the fictional still lies there… however… there also things that exist there… there shouldn't be… overlapping of existences from another fictional anime works… and even beings, you call Original Characters… also existed in that world…}
{Don't worry about genders… being swapped around… it doesn't exist… just keep in mind… there are people existed in that world… and other such elements… that shouldn't exist in the original DxD.}
When the soul heard this, he became overwhelmed with joy.
He is a huge fan of the anime of Highschool DxD, but for some reason… the Soul cannot remember reading the light novel of the canon.
Because he doesn't know the true ending of DxD canon, somewhat makes him excited to see it first hand, and also worried, because he cannot prepare himself in case something bad happens if he doesn't know how to defend himself.
And knowing there also other anime characters besides DxD ones, made him more willing to go there. Even if the soul knows, even if DxD is not as dangerous as Dragon Ball, it's still a very dangerous world, since there exist many powerful beings, like Gods, Devils, Angels, and even Dragons in the world of Highschool DxD.
But knowing other such characters from other anime culture and works also existed in that world. Made him very willing to take the risk and go to that fictional world.
He wanted to experience the world of DxD, and the other elements that shouldn't exist in DxD. Just thinking what other kinds of characters of what anime existed in that parallel universe of DxD, or even the OCs as well, made him so desireful to see them, and to see how they affect the DxD he knew of, even it just the anime knowledge he knew of.
He wants to see the ending, that he has no clue of, and he also wanted to see, how much of a change he also will have in that world, when he will be reborn there.
Just thinking of the many possibilities, made his otaku soul burn with delight, just thinking about the future in that fictional world, with many unknown elements waiting for him to find there.
Knowing all this, the soul nodded his headless head, in a joyously mood. And even thought, what wishes should he have to survive in that world.
Without a doubt, the wishes he need the most, is properly be a System, to help him grow stronger, and a special bloodline, or a race besides human, allowing him to evolved into higher tier classes of evolution, like the Angels and Devils are capable of doing.
However, the abyssal ROB's next words, made his hope of a System, and a special kind of bloodline, along with all different kind of anime powers down the drain.
{Sorry to disappoint… you my child… it is possible to create you a System… or grant any of your wishes… no matter how abuse they are… since I am that powerful… But that power that dwelled inside you… will interfere with anything I give you… It just simply impossible… to grant you any wishes...}
{However… it is possible to repair your memories… to regain what you lost… in the flow of time in this place… Of course… I can give you another gift when the time is right… But before all that… keep in mind… my child… that power of mine… even if it just a little bit of my power… is still enough to devour you… when you are reborn as a baby…}
{That's why… for your own safety… both your missing memories… and that power that now dwells deep in your soul… will awakened... the moment you turned 6 years old…. And as for how to use those powers… you will know… your instincts will know.}
Upon hearing the abyssal ROB's words, at first, he was disappointed and frightened, when he heard he will be given nothing, no wishes or System, in a world as dangerous as DxD.
However, he soon understood why he wasn't given a System, or any of his wishes. When this gigantic eyeball informed him, the power that dwelled inside his soul, is the reason why he wasn't given any wishes. And just hope, this power, whatever it is, will be enough to survive against the countless powerful beings in DxD.
And knowing he will be given back the rest of his memories, that been missing for many years. He cannot help but to grow curious who he was. And why was he so willing to forget his memories of his own past, but kept all his knowledge on anime, manga, and other such culture things.
He wanted to know, if he had a family, if he had friends, and what the cause of his death. The soul wanted to know everything about him, that no answer will come to him for the last few thousands of years.
In fact, it is very strange if one think about it. Even if the soul managed somehow to formed a Memory Palace with his knowledge of anime, and other such culture as well. But the soul doubted he could make his Memory Palace last this long, after all, over 4000 years has passed, and he is just a soul of a normal human being.
However, he is also a soul of a human being, that also been tainted by this gigantic eyeball's aura for over 4500 years. But in the end, the soul didn't think too much about it. And just felt glad, not only he will finally leave this place, but he also will be given a second chance, to live again.
Not to mention, the soul is also overexcited going to DxD. Even if DxD is a dangerous anime world, but he also a harem anime world, who has many outstanding and beautiful female characters and heroines.
And just thinking that he could see their beauty in real life, not behind a screen. Made his otaku soul burn brightly with just a mere thought of that.
However, the soul is also confused, what this abyssal ROB meant, he will know how to use his power, if he entrusts in his instincts. But before the soul could figure out the meaning behind his words. All of the sudden, the soul felt tired, something he never felt once, since coming to this abysmal place.
Not only he is feeling sleepy, but he also discovered his bodyless soul body, also feels heavier as well. He became even more confused, as he tried to fight against the sudden sleepiness he never felt, in these 4500 years.
{Don't fight the sleepiness… my child… the next time… you wake up… will be when you turned 6 years old… until we meet again… child with my aura… I hope… you enjoy your new life… But do understand this… even if it just a fragment of my power… it still of a power outside of logic and common sense… that goes against the rules of the multiverses.}
{That why… Devour… Devour whatever comes before you…. And become stronger… through each feast you devour… Until we meet again… I will be watching you… my child...}
As soon the abyssal ROB, the Abyss itself said that the soul finally shut his eyeless eyes and went into a deep sleep.
But the world of Parallel DxD, still has no clue, that a true monster, or monstrosity is about to be born into their world.
A monster that defies common sense.
A monster that cannot be killed by normal means.
A monster, that will devour his enemies, gather the lost, and become feared in the world full of Gods, Dragons, Angels, Fallen Angels, and Devils. As a true Devil-like God himself.
Is about to be born from the Abyss itself.

This is the second version of chapter 1 of this fanfic. Due to readers saying it felt like a machine wrote this chapter. I had redone the chapter from bottom to the top. Basically, I rewrote the whole chapter.
Which is why this chapter alone is 4000+ words long… It just somehow ended up that way. Anyway, not all chapters all this long in this fanfic, but they also could be that long.
I still have a copy of the first version of this chapter, that why, those that still remember my first chapter was like. Do you think I could keep this chapter as it is, or changed it back what it was like?
And for those thinking the old chapter is different, no it basically the same, just this one has more content, and the ending is also different as well. Besides that, it the same, just more added detail.
