Chapter 151: SISTERS IN ARMS

Even though he committed an unforgivable sin by taking my children away from me, my father was given a befitting burial. He was buried in the mountains. Rissa was the one who lit the pyre he was buried in. I thought it was more fitting since she was more of a daughter to him than me.

Rissa and Christine wailed as we watched the flames burn the corpse of my father. My mother and I just stared at the pyre, lost in our own thoughts. After a while we went back to the castle where we discussed what we were going to do with Christine and Rissa.

In the end we decided to let them go, they weren't much threats to us now. Since Ivan already burned down their home, Christine decided it would be best if they go stayed with a distant relative. Ivan gave them money for them to be well off but knowing Christine, she'd spend it on fancy dresses and powder for her face.
