Chapter 2: Search for Senku pt. 1

Senku was stomped on, throwing streams of blood everywhere, leaving the lower level guild members doused with blood; moments later the adventurers were overrun by dead monsters. Hokori was still knocked out cold on the ground as all of his associates were being killed. Monsters didn't eat, digest, or drink anything. All of the bodies were left toppled on top of Hokori's alive, but unconscious body. He was hidden from the monsters that had now dispersed.

Hokori woke up with a headache, "What's going on?"

He lifted and pushed bodies off of him; he counted each body but one was missing-it was Senku's body. He couldn't seem to find it.

"I'm sorry, Senku," Hokori muttered under his voice, he heard light footsteps came from around the corner.

"More of the necromancer's puppets. I could take a few on but too many and I could lose, also if I follow them I might be able to find Senku. It's well known that necromancer demons take the leader alive back with them to show off but he might have gotten away. My best bet is to just follow them back."

Hokori grabbed the dead bodies and put them back on top of him: hiding from the dead monsters.

A deep, grinded voice spoke, "-))x 5)8: -;43 _'43/:6 ?33!x "3-43:z "35: (0z"

"Well I don't know what that means but they are leaving so I'm assuming they are going home."

After they passed the corner Hokori slid out from underneath the bodies and crept around the corner slowly, he didn't possess any magical abilities and Senku didn't possess any combat abilities so their best bet was finding each other. It didn't take long for the two monsters to meet up with another two monsters. About every hour the two would meet up with another two and then they would head back towards their liar with the four of them. It was now six.

"If one hour is my counted average for the two to meet up with another pair of monsters then I would assume I've been walking for three hours." Hokori thought to himself, I can walk for another few hours but this could be going for days."

Hours later, they now had a group of twelve, "I don't know how much longer I can go with these wounds." Hokori went over his options in his head. "There seemed to be a pattern in these caves, one cave to the left and then a few more yards there would be one to the right and sometimes there would be another one off to the left again. That's where the dead monsters would come out in pairs. Because I have Goddess Nexia as my chosen I don't have any stealth abilities or skills. I'm relying purely on being quiet with soft footsteps."

"There are hundreds of Gods and Goddesses," Hokori's father told him, " as people start to grow up these Gods start to choose who they want on their side and give an offer to that person whether or not they want to use a portion of their power for their loyalty to their God in return."

Hokori had accepted Goddess Nexia's offer of one skill and 9% of her power. He had grown with multiple more skills and sharpened his swordsmanship skills over the few years that he had taken Goddess Nexia's offer. Although, that wouldn't help him in a time of stalking his enemy.
