Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Welt in Negotiation

Theresa felt extremely unlucky. What was originally a mission she was confident about capturing had turned into the current situation.

She couldn't understand why, no matter how hard she tried to think about it.

First, there was Patricia being transferred away, then that sudden explosion from Chase that injured her... Of course, these weren't the most unfortunate events. The most unfortunate was the awakening of the Second Herrscher.

The current Second Herrscher had long shed its timidity and youthfulness. Floating in the air, with purple long hair fluttering in the wind, imaginary numbers formed its clothing, and the shattered void transformed into attire. The imaginary numbers forming a belt seemed like handguards ready to tear apart the enemy in front, shred it to pieces.

Sirin looked down at Theresa on the ground, a contemptuous expression forming on her lips involuntarily.

Theresa looked at the Second Herrscher in the sky. Although she, seasoned from countless battles, didn't feel intimidated, she was indeed considering a retreat.

Joking aside, an awakened Herrscher was not something an injured Theresa could handle. Charging at the Herrscher now wouldn't be bravery; it would be foolishness!

"Hehe, bluffing." Theresa patted the side of Judah. Judah immediately produced a chain, seemingly ready to restrain the Herrscher.

Seeing this scene, Sirin smiled, waved lightly, and numerous void openings appeared behind her. Spears of frigid light emerged from them, clashed with the chains, and bounced them away.

Taking advantage of the gap, Theresa narrowly avoided the attack. The paralysis from the injury caused by Chase's explosion occasionally sent waves through her, slowing Theresa down more than usual.

"You're really annoying!" Sirin said, and a spear larger than before emerged from the void openings behind her. Before Theresa could react, it shot out rapidly, carrying a terrifying force that seemed to pulverize everything in its path.

In the midst of panic, Theresa couldn't counterattack in time; she could only block the predetermined trajectory with Judah.

[Judah's Oath], as the core forged from the remnants of a past civilization with soul steel, not only possessed various functions like attack, control, and detection, but its own strength was also exceptional.

Even Chase's final explosive attack was only deflected by Judah; it didn't break through its defense.

So, using it to block Sirin's attack should have been no problem!

It should have been like that.

After that, Theresa witnessed an inexplicable scene. The enormous spear directly pierced through Judah in front of her and then stabbed into her own body.

No, perhaps it couldn't be said to stab because this void spear had no substance; it directly passed through her body...

The lance went through...

Was it just an entity-less illusion?

Theresa stared at the Herrscher in the air, only to see a meaningful smile on Sirin's face.

*Snap* Sirin lightly snapped her fingers.

She instinctively felt the danger; her pupils contracted. Not out of fear, but simply due to the immense shock and pain.

The half-pierced void spear in her body instantly materialized, penetrating through her heart.

Blood splattered before her eyes, and Theresa was filled with confusion.

How could this be real?

Feelings of unwillingness, frustration, confusion, regret, and anger intertwined in Theresa's heart. She wanted to stand up, but her already weakened body wouldn't allow it.

The invincible Theresa fell.

Sirin was in a cheerful mood, making a "hmph☆" sound, lightly beckoning. Another void spear appeared behind her.

"Die!" The void spear thrust towards Theresa, carrying an aura that seemed to kill her with a single blow.

However, facing the heavily injured and unconscious Theresa, the void spear indeed killed her.

Sirin turned to look at Chase still lying on the ground, her eyes reddening slightly.

Sirin couldn't cry, not until the enemies were dealt with...

Now that Sirin had the power, she could take her brother away to a distant place. No one would find them, and no one would harm them.

Sirin watched as the void spear approached Theresa more intensely, a smile forming involuntarily on her lips.

The next moment, the void spear pierced Theresa's heart, completely killing her.

Afterward, she would take Chase and leave this troublesome place, as far away as possible, where no one could find them...

But a man's appearance forced Sirin to interrupt her fantasy.

Welt Yang blocked the attack, giving Patricia, who had just returned to the battlefield, the opportunity to rescue Theresa.

"Theresa is still alive; quickly take her for treatment," Welt said.

"Give her to me," Sirin, furious, summoned the void spear again and shot it toward Patricia.

Welt blocked it again, the purple-red collapse forming a tangible substance, colliding with the void spear in front of Welt and creating a shockwave in the air.

This confrontation ended with the defeat of the void spear, falling on the snowy ground with a *snap*.

"You can actually catch my lance. Who are you?" Although Sirin was displeased with the man in front of her, she couldn't help but ask.

"A lance in the imaginary space, unable to be defended against by physical means. But for me, it's just an ordinary lance."

"I'm Welt, like you, a Herrscher. I came here hoping to have a good talk with you."

"A Herrscher, like me?" Sirin was puzzled.

[■■■■]

"[God], what do you want to tell me..." Sirin was still contemplating when an revelation from [God] made her pause.

However, her words stunned Welt, and countless waves surged within his heart.

[God]? Could it be...

Can a complete Herrscher directly communicate with [Honkai God]?!

"Hahaha!" Sirin's voice brought Welt back from his shock.

"So that's how it is~ It seems that before me, there was a traitor who betrayed [God]☆" Sirin looked at Welt with a contemptuous expression.

"And you, you're just a copy of that traitor."

"A mere counterfeit, yet you dare to call yourself a Herrscher."

While Sirin, the Second Herrscher, the Herrscher of the Void, who had already betrayed [God], had legitimate reasons to resent Welt for obstructing her from killing Theresa, she now added another layer—Welt was a betrayer of [God].

Sirin looked at Welt seriously. "With your life, repay the sins of betrayal."

Seeing that communication was impossible, Welt's expression turned serious, temporarily giving up the possibility of persuading Sirin through negotiation, and prepared for battle.

"Your [God] is just using you."

"It seems we can only talk properly after defeating you."
