Chapter 57: The creatures of darkness always chase the brilliant light
Adam looked weirdly at Rimuru who collapsed in his arms, shivering in delight as her expression was flushed with bliss

He ignored the world's voice- which despite being in another universe- it still managed to use their connection to it in order to reach them and announce this
Because sure, unlocking her aura did further the connection they already had- The one that was created due to Veldora naming both if them, and their surnames also being the same
...Although he didn't know what the voice of the world was smoking at the time to approve and even coax this connection further
Adam made a telepathic connection with Rimuru, couple that with his soul touching hers to unlock her own Aura, combine that with their already existing connection and their two [Great sage]s being connection with one another....
Then again, the silver haired boy did use the knowledge of the Master-servant contract he acquired from the Gacha to form a connection with Rimuru and make it easier to unlock her Aura... so the slime girl's current expression shouldn't be a surprise
This is interesting.... Although it surely is temporary
"Oh well..."
Adam sighed, unfolding his devil wings and taking off to the sky with a flushed and 'Distracted' Rimuru in his arms
Putting his hand forward, he made a grasping motion and threw his palm back
*Whooosh*
The air was displaced following his telekinetic pull, a red blur rushing towards him with intense speed
Adam put his palm forward once again, the red blur abruptly stopping in place, revealing an unconscious Rias Gremory
He sighed as he looked at the red haired devil that was being held in the air by his palm that was pressing against her chest
"You made a huge ruckus... I didn't expect that, Rimuru" The white haired boy looked at the blue haired loli that was being supported by on of his arms
"A-ah... Sorry, I didn't know my Aura was so large" The blue haired slime smiled sheepishly as she apologized with difficulty, her large and intense Kaleidoscopic Aura flaring around her 'being' for a split second
'.... Is she really the reincarnation of Veldanava...?' Adam looked at the monstrous slime that was docile in his arms, wondering if the theory that Rimuru was the reincarnation of the creator of the Tensura multiverse was actually true
But wait, if Milim existed, then didn't that mean Veldanava fell in love with a woman and was actually a man....?
... Did Milim even exist at all-?!
"Argh-!"
An abrupt groan broke him out of his thoughts, looking down on the red haired devil, he saw that she was slowly waking up
Slowly opening her eyes, Rias noticed Adam in front of her. She blinked once more in a daze, glancing at his hand that was on her chest in confusion
"Huh...?" The busty devil made a confused sound as she looked around her, only now noticing that she was in the air as the haze from unconsciousness faded
"Don't you remember what happened before you got knocked out?" His voice snapped her out of her thoughts, her eyes snapped to Adam's glowing blue ones as she looked at him in confusion
"Oh...." Her mouth curled into an 'O' as she remembered the current situation, understanding filling her
Her devil wings popped out of her back, flapping wildly
"But wait....! Why was Rimuru's Aura so violent? Is this normal?" Although Rias understood what happened, she was still confused, so as he dispersed his telekinetic grip in her, she asked him
"Haah...." Adam sighed, seeing as she floated besides him on her own, he temporary ignored her as he glanced at Rimuru, opening his mouth "Hey, Rimuru-"
"Okay!" The slime girl interrupted him, reluctantly pushing herself off his arms as her own bat wings popped out of her back
The silver haired boy's eyes widened as he looked at the blue haired loli, who was flying beside him, naturally and without his input
"How did you...?" Adam stopped himself from continuing further as he received information in his head
He looked at Rimuru with deadpan eyes, the slime girl herself giving him an embarrassed yet happy smile
'What an overpowered link...' He thought in his heart, lamenting at how deep their connection currently was
They could both understand each other's feelings... And even their intentions! Frankly, Adam would normally be wary of leaving himself bare at anyone that wasn't his previous life's parents, but....
He just couldn't have any vigilance against this cute slime girl! She was so pure and naive, that she was just mostly embarrassed and happy at being able to connect with her best friend at such a deep level
Rimuru's cheeks flushed bright red at him, Adam knew that she could clearly feel what he was currently wanting to convey
So, no one could be wary of such a cute and honest girl.... Even though this girl suffered in the future because of those same qualities
"Right...." He muttered with a weird expression on his face
It was temporary anyway... And it was also one of the rare times he can indulge himself at such a level. Nothing could go wrong, right?
"Eh? What is going on between you two!? Are you guys communicating with your expressions or something?"
An annoying voice interrupted their moment of intimacy. It seemed that their devil companion couldn't wait anymore....
Adam dead panned at Rias "Are you really the little sister of the strongest devil of your world?"
Rias huffed in offence "Hmph! What's that supposed to mean? My brother is indeed one of the top ten strongest being of my world!"
Despite all of her character development by his Talk-no-jutsu, she still went back to her 'bratty and spoiled princess' persona when he insulted her family
"Really? Then did you forget about communication magic and telepathy?" He smiled teasingly at her, his eyes reflecting the amuzement he found in her ignorance
"Eh-? Ah....." An understanding light filled Rias' eyes, but she quickly averted her eyes from him as her cheeks flushed in embarrassement
Adam continued looking at her, his ever present teasing smile still on his face
"I forgot, okay?! It is used in Rating games most of the time, not in everyday life!" Rias pouted in annoyance as she turned her head away from him
Rating games... From what he remembered, they were basically matches where two devils and their peerage(slaves) fought against
Although it was mostly used for the entertainment of the others-
"Uh, shouldn't we be more focused on those creatures on the ground?"
Rimuru uncharacteristically interjected in their conversation, although it was mostly for Rias. He knows her intentions through their bond, so that was mostly a reminder for the busty devil
"What are you talking...." Rias opened her mouth to reply, but she stopped herself
She looked down on the ground, where countless black creatures, big and small, where running around, killing and destroying everything in their part
"... Oh" The red haired devil grimaced with a complicated light in her eyes
The scene of so many monstrous creatures killing every human in their path, regardless if they were young or old... It was a gruesome sight, one that filled her with melancholy, even though she is a devil
"Oh, indeed..." Adam looked down at this scene from the sky, pursing his lips as his eyes were radiating a gloomy light
The screams of despair, their desperate calls for help... The sickening crunching noises of the Grimm biting, crushing and even eating the humans
"...." Rimuru didn't say anything, she also felt bad about this matter as this was most probably her fault, but her nature as a monster made her more apathetic toward this
She knew from the knowledge Adam shared when they became connected that Grimm are attracted to Aura. Her Aura was large and powerful.... So, many of those black creatures swarming into this city and wreaking havoc was her fault
Rimuru clenched her fists, guilt overtaking her as she slowly comprehended the ruin she brought upon here unwittingly
Adam looked at the slime girl, conveying some particular information to her through their connection
The blue haired loli's eyes widened, but she instantly went back to normal, a fire of determination beginning to take presence in her golden eyes
"Rias"
"... Yes?"
"Use your power of destruction sparingly. Wait until Rimuru is done preparing, and don't exhaust yourself until I finish saving some people"
Adam looked made eye contact with Rias, his eyes conveying a heavy seriousness
"...." Rias pondered for a moment in silence, although she wanted to destroy all those monsters... She knew she was too weak to do so, and doing that would also burden her fellow members, who probably had a better plan than her
"... Fine" She relented in the end, hoping that Admin-san had a better plan
"Good"
After saying that, Adam, whose face had slightly paled, promptly turned into a blur and dissapeared from their view in an unexpected burst of speed
He had some plans to put into motion, and people to save. It's not that he wants to be a hero and save everyone, but it would make his mission easier
Also, after witnessing that, he couldn't stay still anymore. He was apathetic towards death as he has already died once, but that didn't mean he was cold and emotionless
Witnessing the destruction around him, he was moved. Rias and Rimuru were moved too, but their race made them a lot more resistant to evil in general than him
Besides, having capable allies is obviously a good option....
