Chapter 3: Nostalgia
"Whoa!"
"As expected of one of the top academies in the world."
Two youths can be seen in front of Chiba Academy, they are wearing Chiba academy uniforms. These two were Kiana and Kenneth, after they finished their breakfast, they quickly went to school.
"Let's go, Kiana, we'll go to the faculty to meet our class teacher," Kenneth said towards the white head.
"I know I know, let's go."
Kenneth didn't say anything more and they started walking towards the faculty. On their way there, Kenneth caught a glimpse of a beautiful girl and was stunned.
"Hey!" Kiana called out to Kenneth after seeing he was suddenly stunned.
"Oh! Sorry, I was dazed." Kenneth smiled apologetically, 'Am I missing them too much, I even thought for a moment, I saw Mei there.' he thought
They then continued walking towards the faculty, on the way, Kenneth's mind wandered.

"Alright, there's a transfer student. Let me introduce you to him. Please enter, Ashford-kun." The class adviser of 2nd-year class A motioned for Kenneth to enter the classroom.
Kenneth entered and introduced himself with a light smile. "Hello everyone, I'm Kenneth Ashford, nice to meet you all."
Kenneth scanned the faces of his new classmates and was once again stunned after seeing one particular face. 'Mei?!' he exclaimed in his mind.
After seeing that particular face, he remembered his old friend. They just look too similar, especially those long dark purple hair and indigo eyes. Their only difference would be their hairstyle and this classmate of his doesn't wear glasses.
"Ahem* Ashford-kun, you can sit beside, Raiden-san." The teacher said and pointed at a free seat beside the window which coincidentally is right beside that Mei look-alike.
"Nice to meet you, Raiden-san." Kenneth greeted awkwardly but did so anyway as he thought it would be rude not to greet her.
"Nice to meet you, Ashford-san." Raiden Mei replied with a smile.
Kenneth nodded and turn away awkwardly, he still can't get past that he saw someone who look extremely similar to his friend.
Meanwhile, in the class besides Kenneth's class, Kiana successfully transferred too. But she was grumbling in her mind.
'Hmph, why do I need to be in a different class.' she thought
...
The class proceeded without any problems and soon lunchtime came. Kenneth and Kiana found themselves a spot on the rooftop. Each of them holding a lunch box, Kenneth prepared.
"How's the class?" Kenneth asked
"...Mmph" Kiana didn't reply and just started eating.
Kenneth just smiled wryly and started eating too. While eating, his mind wandered back on some memories of the past.
.....
"Hey, Kenneth and Su, let's eat on the rooftop." A white-haired youth said
"I agree with Kevin, what do you think Su?"
"...Do my opinion even matter, you already decided to proceed anyway."
"Hahaha!" Kenneth and Kevin burst out laughing. The three of them then went on the rooftop of the school building and ate their lunch there.
....
'Ah, how nostalgic.' Kenneth smiled after remembering the past. His gaze came towards Kiana, as usual, she was eating happily. Suddenly an image of a white-haired youth overlapped with her, to which Kenneth shook his head.
'Ah, how I wish to meet my friends again.' He thought but he knew it was nearly impossible since it's been so long. Besides, he doesn't even know if they're in the same bubble universe.
"Hey, why did you stop eating?" Kiana's voice suddenly got Kenneth out of his daydreaming.
"Oh! Are you still hungry? You can have this, I'm already full." Kenneth pointed at his lunch, which he hardly touched.
"W-what are you saying...hmph!" Kiana shouted but still took Kenneth's lunch box and started eating it.
"Haha~" Kenneth laughed dryly at that sight.
The two stayed at the rooftop for the whole lunch break and came down after it was time.
...
Kenneth arrived at their classroom and saw that his classmates are already seated. Though their teacher is still out.
Kenneth walked to his seat and sat. He looked outside through the window. He saw some students doing some activities.
'Partner, do you think I am in the same bubble universe as my previous life?' Kenneth asked mentally,
{I'm not sure, you do realize I'm limited around you. But didn't you already deploy some people to find 'that'? If they found it then that means you're in the same universe.}
'True, though it's been about 3 years since the search and it could take more. Guess I just have to wait for it.'
{But what are you planning after you find 'that'? After confirming you're in the same universe, then what's next? Continue protecting this world?}
'Yeah, that's my oath, in the past as well as now. And 'that' would be essential in my job.'

'That Elysia, she gave me that embarrassing nickname. It stuck to me ever since then, from then on, every time someone saw me, they'd call me by that name.' Kenneth wanted to cover his face after remembering that past.

'Okay okay, let's stop here. Class is starting,'
{Well, I'll sleep first, partner.}
Kenneth's next class was history, luckily he already read about some of it when he tried to research about this world. It went smoothly for him.

"Ashford-san!"
Kenneth heard someone calling him after their last class. He was about to leave when he heard this.
He turned around and saw it was that MEI looks alike which coincidentally also named Mei, Raiden Mei.
"Oh, Raiden-san, what can I help you with?" Kenneth asked
"Our class teacher said, you can get your textbooks at the faculty. He said that you should go there before leaving today." Mei said
"Oh! Is that so, then thank you for telling me, Raiden-san." Kenneth said before quickly getting his bag, "Well, please excuse me then. I'll be going first."
Kenneth walked away swiftly, he couldn't stay in that room for long. He wasn't used to seeing Raiden Mei who look like his old friend.
He was quite scared of what he could possibly do. What if he acted friendly towards her when they just met this morning. That could be quite a problem in the long run.
