Chapter 68: Undying Players
A patch of land is blackened, and traces of a disastrous explosion seems to decorate the place. No longer is the fake Buddhist temple, and the corpses of dead demonic cultivators are there.
It has been just a week since the destruction of the Bones Devouring Sect.
The players who embraces their demise just a week ago find themselves resurrecting. It is a miraculous power through and through. The Biron King learns of this as the Game Master doesn't really plan to hide this from him.
No matter how the Biron King begs the Game Master to let him and his wife join the sect, the Game Master remains steadfast in declining the King's request.
To the Game Master's own words. "It is a waste! You are at the 8th stage and your wife is at the 6th stage! I will let you join the sect after I improve my system's cultivation! Once the upper limit reaches a stage above your stages, then I will let you."
The Biron King doesn't really understand what his dear mentor, the Game Master, means. He only knows that someday, he will be able to join the System's Providence Sect and achieve more truthful immortality. As long as there is hope, Yin Wei wouldn't stop wooing his mentor by allowing him to be allowed the privilege of resurrection.

Lu Gao shudders at how cruel and decisive the Biron King is. Busying himself with the royal archives, Lu Gao tries to find his blood-related family by perusing the records. While at it, he also read the other records out of fancy as he realizes there are actually interesting folklore and stories in the archive.
Recalling a certain crocodile, Lu Gao laments on how lonely he is… The two of them wish to go and visit the royal archives, but it is only Lu Gao now that is in the palace reading the many stuff… It sure is tiring, but as a bookworm, Lu Gao's situation is not actually so bad. As long as he can persist in escaping the clingy clutches of the 11th royal princess, his stay at the royal palace has been enjoyable so far.
In the Sandwyrm desert, a lonely figure stands with a melancholic face. After bidding farewell to his close acquaintances, he now shall focus his time on mapping the whole Sandwyrm desert. Last time, plenty of days ago, Lurker went to the Game Master and was asked to map the whole Sandwyrm desert.
Lurker is eager to throw himself on the quest the Game Master asks of him. With his mapping skill that is about to reach the peak and his Scout subclass that is on the B grade, he feels that his journey to the Sandwyrm desert will be fruitful. He fantasizes about the many exp points about to rain on him.
What Lurker doesn't know is that his Game Master has kind of forgotten that he gave a mission to him… It will only later that Lurker will learn of this…
Sui Yang, the former leader of the Flying Daggers espionage team finds himself in a canal. Here, he meets a monk who seems to fall into a deep sleep. It is not so long since Sui Yang shaved his head, but just by his bearing alone, he seems to be someone who has been walking the path of Buddhism for a long time. The path to Buddhism is long and hard. Thorns would embed themselves on his soles, and his soul will always meet test after test.
His long time of enduring finally is paying off. "This must be the Bloody Asura Monk!" Sui Yang is a fan of this monk. The first time Sui Yang hears of the monk's story, he immediately grows into admiring this legendary character.
Seeing the bloody, precarious, and dying state of the monk, Sui Yang feels as if fate guided him here. "I have to save him!" With a determined heart, he carries his idol on his back and rushes to the nearest village possible to seek aid and treatment.
Back in the Biron Kingdom, everything is as usual, and not much impact is there after the destruction of Bones Devouring Sect.
A young man not even over his 20s returns to his village. Bian Deli with his 3rd stage cultivation strength can easily lift lots of things just by his raw attributes alone. "I have come to marry Ai Chunhua!" Bian Deli drops a whole cow at a humble hut's door. Bian Deli then drops bags of gold at the front door.
This raises a commotion in the village!
A relatively clean woman with freckles on her face comes from the hut. "What the f—" She looks at the very expensive dowry, and dumbly looks at Bian Deli. "You Villager B! You got freaking rich!"
That is how Villager B and Villager A reunite… through a marriage proposal…
"Nah," Ai Chunhua snickers at her childhood friend's antics. "I reject your proposal, you doofus!" Though she suffers from poverty, she is not one who easily accepts a 'marriage' proposal with benefits. Ai CHunhua is a very romantic person after all, and won't be moved by money easily.
While the players of System's Providence Sect is being merry on their eccentric almost mundane lifestyles, the Temple is making moves behind the scene.
Chou Guan who should be dead already kneels on both knees as he clasps his two hands as if in prayer. The way he clasps his hands is so different from how martial artists greet their counterparts…
"I solemnly ask for your forgiveness as I have failed the faith. The Biron King is rebellious and doesn't wish to cooperate. I ask permission from the heavens to allow the descent of a 'Chosen One' to deal with the System's Providence Sect. Claims that they have the power of resurrection have been widespread, and should this continue… The loyal followers of the faith might turn their backs from the righteous path…"
In front of Chou Guan is an altar of a saint that has a compassionate smile. The altar trembles as words echo into Chou Guan's ears. "I permit the descent of the Chosen One! For now, delay the attack on the System's Providence Sect, and prioritize receiving the Chosen One."
Chou Guan smiles in his heart, but still, maintains an unmoving expression like an ascetic monk. "I thank the saint for your compassion."
Deep in the Butterberry Forest, there is a bouncing white figure. She is Bi Yuan, the mighty rabbit! Arriving by the borders of the Butterberry Forest, Bi Yuan is about to throw herself into another adventure… To the Dark Forest, this little bunny shall engrave her legend.
Bi Yuan swears in her heart. She shall not leave this forest until she changes her shape! She knows that the System's level cap is still level 160, but so what? That is how stubborn Bi Yuan is…
Trailing the little white bunny is a bouncing head. He is the 'grunt' who is halfway responsible for the destruction of the Bones Devouring Sect. When the Game Master asks him to join his sect, this body-less 'grunt' who only has a head agrees with no hesitation.
Now, this 'grunt' by the name of Peng Xiang is a player, he now has the power of resurrection too. The truth is he died at the 'nuke' of the Game Master. After resurrecting him, Peng Xiang is full of gratitude for this new lease on life. He swears he will be a good boy from now on.
Sadly, in his resurrection, he remains body-less. As a head, he can only bounce up and down using his qi to propel himself in the air. "Wait for me!" He cries at the hurrying bunny… As the bunny's babysitter appointed by the Game Master, it is Peng Xiang's responsibility to cater to the bunny's needs.
While the System's Providence Sect meets a time of stability, its players continue to drastically grow all thanks to the power of resurrection. For now, the Undying Players shall busy themselves with getting stronger, while the world waits for this fourth calamity to finally rise to its task to cause chaos to the world.
