Chapter 26: 26. Prophecy
"Hold on to me, little one," Aurelius said, patting Dougal's head. Dougal tightly hugged Aurelius' thigh.
In an instant, Aurelius's figure distorted, just like an Auror apparating, and disappeared into the orphanage.
Is that Apparition? No, of course not.
As the ever-changing Obscurus, it's not difficult to imitate magical effects.
He had to do this so that Chastity, the children, and Grindelwald could see it!
"It's dying! Quick! Fix it!"
"The flames are blazing!"
"Shattered to pieces!"
Three or five Aurors were besieging the bird snake, its scales stained with blood.
Aurelius felt strange. Why didn't the Occamy shrink and escape in the face of danger? Instead, it grew larger to attract attention.
"Oh~" The invisible beast wrapped in Obscurus cried sadly, and Aurelius seemed to understand.
In the movie, it's Dougal who brings food to the Occamy. As a female snake that has just given birth, she should be agitated. If Dougal can get along with her, they must have a good relationship.
Though it's a bit incredible, magic is incredible, isn't it? The reason why this Occamy mother didn't shrink down and escape was probably because she wanted to protect the weaker Dougal.
And Dougal is afraid of Aurelius. The aura of Obscurus on his body frightens this spiritual beast. But to save the bird snake mother, Dougal chose to give up its disguises and appear in front of Aurelius.
"What a touching interracial friendship," Aurelius sighed. He didn't know if his guess was right, but he wanted to believe it. He took action!
Before being exposed, he chose to stand by and hide himself. But now, there's no need. His body expanded and instantly transformed into a giant.
The huge turbulence pushed away the Auror attacking the bird and snake. By holding on to the flying broom tightly, they managed not to fall.
The Aurors were nervous. They didn't understand these magical animals. The invisible silence opened them up, but to the Aurors, it appeared as the power of birds and snakes.
Wouldn't it make sense that a flying snake could harness the power of the wind?
But Bird Snake herself knew that this was a power that frightened her.
The Obscurus expanded to form a huge hollow cage, making the Occamy mother feel extremely uneasy.
In desperation, the Occamy were about to make a desperate fight.
"Whoa whoa--" The cry of the invisible beast gave the Occamy pause. It calmed down, and its scales gradually stopped exploding. It hovered in the body of Obscurus, gradually shrinking as the body of Obscurus shrank. Soon, the sky fell into silence.
"Escaped..." An Auror grimaced.
"Chase!"
"Where are you chasing?"
"Shut up! Will you die if you stop talking?"
...
Magical Congress.
Grindelwald stood in front of the map, accompanied by two subordinates.
"How many did you find?" Grindelwald asked, his tone gloomy.
"A poison-horned beast, an Occamy, and an Auror reported finding an invisible beast in an orphanage."
"Orphanage?!" Grindelwald raised an eyebrow. His mind immediately turned to Second Salem.
However, he didn't pay much attention. Based on the information he had, the Obscurial he was after, 'Kevin', was no longer there, and Second Salem had lost its worth.
Buzz - a burning sensation surged in his eyes. This feeling was all too familiar to Grindelwald. It was his unique ability!
His vision split in two. In one eye, he saw the regular world, but in his precognitive eye, an image appeared:
Credence wielding a wand, unleashing a massive wave of magic on a crowded street!
Dark flames transformed into demonic wolves and evil dragons, rushing forward like a tsunami toward a figure...
"Credence?! He's not a squib!" Grindelwald was shocked.
He knew that dreadful demonic fire!
The Fire Curse! No one understood the terrible black flames better than him!
The black flames may appear different from ordinary red flames, but only Grindelwald knew that there was no need to worry if it were just a regular fire.
The Fire Curse was a form of black magic that was easy to cast but incredibly difficult to control.
The fluctuating Fierce Fire Curse symbolized the pinnacle of control!
Someone who possessed such control not only couldn't be a squib but had to be an unparalleled genius!
What had he missed?! A super genius who could potentially rival even Dumbledore himself?!
"No... there's still a chance." Grindelwald narrowed his eyes. He acknowledged that he had been too hasty, severing the once strong bond between himself and Credence.
But he believed there was still an opportunity to win the allegiance of this extraordinary genius. At the very least, he couldn't allow him to side with Dumbledore.
With this in mind, Grindelwald carefully analyzed the scenes in the prophecy, frame by frame.
Where was this? Who was Credence fighting? Why was he fighting?
It was challenging. The prophecy fragment was too short, and aside from the powerful fire curse, it provided very little information.
This was the flaw in Grindelwald's ability to see the future. He could only glimpse fragments, with no knowledge of cause and effect.
Still, it was more powerful than the predictive abilities of most seers. Long ago, he had discovered the existence of the Obscurial in New York through a prophecy, and this knowledge was repeatedly confirmed, strengthening Grindelwald's confidence in his ability to predict the future.
After pausing for a moment, he lifted his coat, turned around, and exited.
"Sir! Sir? Sir Graves! Where are you going? We should stay here to provide support!" his subordinates called out repeatedly, but all they received in response was, "Aren't you all still here?"
Who has time to worry about the fate of the Magical Congress when he wants to protect his talented subordinates?
