Chapter 50: Chapter 50

Most people would not give in until they have reached their intended goal or suitable level and Albert's roommates were no exception to that room. Staring at the book they borrowed from Albert, the twins tested the spells out.

"| Vis Agri Zona |," Fred cast as his brother held 'Disillusionment Charm and Co: The Basic Guide for any Aspiring Auror,' in his hand and pointed to the incantation.

"The book says there should be a semi-solid barrier forming around the caster," George said as he compared his brother's effort to the description in the book.

"Come on, try again," Lee Jorden said as he picked up and threw his copy of 'The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection' at Fred.

"What are you doing? Are you trying to kill me?" Fred said as he jumped away and glared at Lee Jorden.

"When you are in a dangerous situation, your adrenaline kicks in and can help you master the spell," Lee Jorden said.

"Who told you that?" George asked as he saw Lee pointing at Albert.

"I told him that but I didn't expect him to throw a book at you," Albert said as he picked up his pillow and threw it at Fred. "You should have thrown pillows as it's safer and won't hurt if it hits you."

After being hit by a pillow countless times, Fred gave up and George wanted to have a turn. He gave up as he didn't want to be hit by a pillow many times and Lee took over. Lee had formed an outline of an illusionary barrier before falling on the floor and panting.

"I don't get why you're trying to learn a hard spell when you can't even do the basics," Albert said.

"Because if you can do it, why can't we?" George said.

"Fair point," replied Albert.

"Do you have any trick to learn it faster?" Fred asked.

"And how did you learn it in three or four days?" Lee asked.

Although they were in the pro-muggle-born camp, they couldn't believe a muggle-born was THAT much more talented than them. He made them seem they were from muggle household while he was a pureblood receiving private tutoring from the age of six.

"Have you ever played a game where you can level you your skills by trading in experience point?" Albert said.

"No, why?" Lee said.

"Because that's my life," Albert said.

"Really?" George asked in a confused tone.

"No," Albert said, as he scoffed and snapped. "I'm just more talented and put in more effort than you do. As Pele said, 'Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and, most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do.' I come from a muggle home where we did not believe in magic and magic was something we could dream of. Now I can do magic, I am taking every opportunity to better myself in magic. I read more than you. You don't practice as much as I do. I failed more than you. What did you do after you got everything you needed for Hogwarts? Sat at home playing Wizarding Chess, playing Gobstone or just messing around. You guys have done nothing to help yourself. What you see before you is the proof of all the hard work I put in that you guys don't see. If you get stuck or need help, go ask the professors for help. That's what they're here for. Don't keep asking me."

<<That paragraph does not belong to the RAW in any way, shape or form. I know some of you may criticise me for adding this paragraph to the story, but I feel like it belongs here. I believe Albert would eventually snap. My main reasons for this is his true age, being surrounded by eleven-year-olds and being constantly asked questions he don't know the answers to along with the fact he may be homesick and the general atmosphere of the school and possibly the bigotry he may have heard over his stay.>>

The room was silent for a few more second before Albert broke the awkwardness. "Sorry for snapping at you."

"We're sorry too," George said. "We didn't mean to keep bugging you."

"Or ignore your feeling and prioritise ourselves over us," Fred said.

"Yeah me too," Lee said.

"I really do mean sorry, and I'll answer your question properly this time. The reason I'm better is that I have better control over my magic. You guys have much more latent potency regarding your magic, but you guys struggle to control it," Albert said.

"How can we control it better?" Lee asked.

"Practicing more. I remember Professor McGonagall saying that Hogwarts can help us control our magic better," Albert said.

After hearing this and their repeated failures, the three purebloods tried to learn something simpler: the Unlocking Charm. After a few hours of practice, a couple of breaks, and Lee quitting as well as Albert stepping in to help them, Fred successfully cast the Unlocking Charm with no damage to the lock.

"Look, Fred did it first," Albert said as he nudged Lee. "Since you lost, you have to face the consequence."

"What bet?" Fred asked.

"Who would pull off a successful Unlocking Charm first?" Lee said as he picked one Bertie Every Flavoured Bean from the packet Albert offered. "I bet on George and he betted on you."

"Why didn't you bet on me?" George asked.

"Because the last time you two practiced, Fred looked like he could perform it better, so I betted on him," Albert said as he stretched out his fist. "No hard feelings."

"We good," George said as he fist-bumped Albert.

"Come on, Lee, bottoms up," Fred said as he encouraged Lee to put it in his mouth.

"Ahhh, Carolina Reaper, again," Lee said as he rushed to the bathroom. "I swear I'm never going to bet with anyone of you again."

"We all know that's never going to happen," George said as he noticed Albert put his copy of 'Disillusionment Charm and Co: The Basic Guide for any Aspiring Auror,' away. A few minutes later, Lee joined them and Albert offered him a bar of Fredo. George then asked, "How have you got on the Disillusionment Charm?"

"Not as far as I hoped," Albert said as he remembered he was on Level 0 35 / 100 for it. "I can make something like a rock or chair disappear, but nothing moving. I haven't tried it on anything living yet."

"Is it that hard?" Fred asked.

"Yes, I guess so. Aurors have to learn it in their training period and you know how hard it is to be an Auror. They are one profession that require to be talented across all subjects Hogwarts offers," Albert said.

"Its over then, isn't it?" George said.

"What is?" Lee asked.

"Going on a night tour and not being caught," Fred said with a sigh.
