Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Diagon Alley

When they got to the living room, they sat down facing each other. Arthur looked at Professor Snape with a little bit of sadness in his eyes.

Professor Snape was a character he had liked in his past life when he watched the movies, although Arthur didn't have a good impression of him in the early movies.

But as he slowly learned about Professor Snape's life, he understood why Professor Snape treated Harry the way he did.

After all, a son pays for the sins of his father.

This person had caused the death of his only true love because of himself. From then on, he lived in regret and self-blame, and his final death was perhaps a relief for him.

"Mr. Gaunt, your surname is well-known in the magical world. Your ancestor, Salazar Slytherin, was one of the founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the founder of Slytherin House."

"Due to some reasons, your family has declined in recent years, but the glory of pure blood still flows in your body. I believe that at Hogwarts, you can make this surname great again."

Immediately after, Professor Snape explained some common knowledge of the wizarding world.

Arthur suddenly realized that he had no idea of this surname before Professor Snape mentioned it.

But after Professor Snape finished speaking, he remembered that Voldemort's mother was from the Gaunt family and the Resurrection Stone in the Horcrux was the Gaunt family's heirloom.

"That's the general information. You can learn more at Hogwarts. Do you have any questions, Mr. Gaunt?"

"No, Professor. I look forward to learning more about magic and can't wait to go to Diagon Alley."

Arthur wasn't lying, his curiosity about the magical world had already reached its peak.

"Then please stand next to me, Mr. Gaunt, and grab my wrist."

Professor Severus Snape stood quickly, and As soon as Arthur grabbed his wrist and stood next to him, he used a Disapparition spell.

Then, with a vortex flushing like a toilet, the two of them disappeared from the spot.

...

Diagon Alley

Arthur looked around with curiosity at the scene in front of him. It was a long street built with cobblestones, and it was some people dressed in wizard robes.

"We'll first go to Gringotts to get some Galleons. Although the Gaunt family has declined, as one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, they still have some resources," Professor Snape said as he headed toward Gringotts.

As soon as he walked into the hall, Professor Snape approached an empty counter and addressed a goblin sitting inside, "We're here to go to the Gaunt family's vault. This is the heir of the Gaunt family."

The goblin glanced at Arthur and had him extract a drop of blood, which he placed in a magical container and examined for a while before leading them to the vault.

The Gaunt family's vault was located at number 710, at the deepest point underground. Arthur experienced what it was like to ride in a small mining cart, but he did not see any dragons, probably because they were hibernating.

After opening the door to the vault, the two of them and the goblin entered. Although the vault was large, not many Galleons were stacked up due to the Gaunt family's decline.

"About fifty to one hundred Galleons should be enough for your expenses for the next year," Professor Snape's voice came from behind.

Although Arthur had drawn a lot of Galleons from his Gacha, it was not suitable to use them now, so he put two handfuls in a bag and left.

After leaving Gringotts, the two of them arrived at a small shop with a golden sign on the door.

[Ollivander; Makers of Fine Wands Since 382 BC]

As a wizard, the wand is a part of their life. So naturally, Professor Snape took Arthur to pick out a wand first.

Arthur found that it was much bigger than it appeared outside. They must have used the Extension Charm. The shelves in the store were filled with thin boxes.

"Good morning, Mr. Snape. It's been a long time since I've seen you. Let me think... Birch, dragon heartstring, thirteen and a half inches, right?"

A soft voice came from Arthur's right side, and an old man appeared beside them.

"Yes, you haven't forgotten. This is Mr. Gaunt. I brought him here today to choose a wand that suits him." Snape replied emotionlessly and didn't seem interested in talking with Garrick.

"The wand chooses the wizard," Garrick didn't care about Snape's coldness, but he took his words seriously. However, after a short retort, he began to observe Arthur.

"Mr. Gaunt, I see, boy, which is your dominant hand?"

Garrick waved his wand, and a measuring tape flew to his side and floated there.

"Right." Arthur replied.

Then, the measuring tape began to spread on his body.

After retrieving the measuring tape, Garrick led Arthur to the shelf area. But before he could choose a wand, the wand boxes on the shelf began to tremble.

"Whoa!"

Almost all of the wand boxes were instantly pushed open, and countless wands quickly rushed to Arthur's side, floating and spinning around him.

"Oh, my Merlin."

Garrick showed a surprised expression.

"This is truly a miracle. Let me see... all these wands flying up are made of phoenix feathers."

"Child, your compatibility with these wands simply refreshes my knowledge. You should know that Dumbledore's wand was sold by my grandfather back then, and the scene was far less shocking than it is now."

Arthur knew that this must be because of Furry. He thought that making a wand with Furry's feather would be more suitable for him. Then, with a thought, a ball of fire appeared in mid-air.

In the surprised eyes of Professor Snape and Garrick, the phoenix Furry flew beautifully onto Arthur's shoulder.

"This is my partner, Furry. She appeared in my house two days after I received my Hogwarts letter, and we have been partners ever since," Arthur explained.

Looking at the phoenix in front of them, the other two couldn't believe their eyes. They never expected that someone besides the Dumbledore family could gain the approval of a phoenix.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Arthur asked, "I think it might be because of Furry that I am more suitable for a wand made with phoenix feathers. Can Mr. Garrick customize my wand with Furry's feather?"

Garrick's eyes lit up when he heard what Arthur said. Fawkes, Dumbledore's phoenix, had gotten grumpy over the past few years and hadn't given him new feathers in a long time.

He was getting low on stock and didn't know when he would run out.

Then, Garrick took Arthur to his workshop to discuss their deal.
