Chapter 28: Torrin's Grand Daughter Is Obsessed With Nightmare

"You!" Nyx said helplessly when he saw the pink-haired girl looking at him with a smile on her face.

'Of all the places, I just have to end up with this crazy girl,' he thought as he rested his back on the bed; although he had regained a little bit of stamina, Nyx was still far from walking out of this place. The best he could do was regain a little strength before getting out of here.

'Thankfully, it's still night,' he thought, staring at the window and seeing the moon. 'That means I still have time to return to the cell.'

"No thank you?" Violet suddenly asked with a pout on her face. "Is this how you pay back the person that saves you from dying?"

After seeing Nyx so close to the death door, the pink-haired girl had forced a C-ranked 'healing pill' that could regenerate any injuries into the red-haired boy's mouth. That pill had regenerated all his internal injuries and was the reason for him to be alive, yet this ungrateful boy couldn't even say a thank you.

"I'll repay this debt, so I don't need to thank you," Nyx stated matter-of-factly as he looked around again. It felt a bit awkward seeing his mask staring back at him. Even in his personal lair, he didn't have this many masks.

This made him wonder if Violet was, by chance, obsessed with Nightmare, which was very strange and awkward because the girl in question was the daughter of humanity's strongest hero, so how could she be obsessed with someone as evil and inhuman as Nightmare?

"Seeing that serious thinking look on your face is cute. I can watch you like this for an entire day," Violet said, stretching her hand to pinch Nyx's cheeks. "And you don't need to repay me back or anything, just take it as me helping my future partner."

"Your future partner?" Nyx asked, confused, feeling uncomfortable with the way Violet was pinching his cheeks. He wanted to resist her, but his body was just too weak to even move a muscle, so at the end of the day, he could only resign to his fate.

One thing was certain though; he didn't feel any bad intention coming from Violet.

"Yes, you're my future partner, and together we would rule this world!" Violet said and started laughing manically like a villain.

Nyx watched the pink-haired girl with a strange expression on his face. 'Is this something the granddaughter of Torrin supposed to be saying?' he thought as he evaluated Violet in his mind again and he discovered that this girl's past behavior didn't align with heroes.

Her behavior aligned more with villainy.

'That explains the posters of me on her wall? Am I, by chance, her villain crush?' Nyx thought. 'I better start a conversation to break this awkward laugh.'

"I didn't expect Torrin's granddaughter to have such plans, nor what is even more surprising, having the posters of the greatest villain to ever grace this world all over the walls of your room," Nyx said, inwardly pleased with himself.

"Ugh, being a hero is so lame," Violet finally snapped out of her maniac laughter as she went towards one of Nightmare's posters.

"You see this guy, Nightmare, the architect of Chaos? I want to be like him."

"Why be like him? I bet with your resources and talent, it should be easy for you to become someone strong like your grandfather?"

Although Nyx asked this inwardly, he was very happy because now it seemed it would be easier to get Violet on his side, and the thought of seeing the face of that righteous fool when he discovers that his granddaughter is Nightmare's pawn only made him excited.

"I don't see myself being a hero. The reason? It's pretty simple; I don't want to be restricted by the stupid Hero Bureau and their rules. I like seeing people in pain; I want to be feared and tremble at the mere mention of my name, just like Nightmare. I want to rule this world."

'This girl is even more sick than I am,' Nyx thought as Violet continued. "Although I didn't see him from what the History and documentary I saw, Nightmare had all these privileges, and I want to be like him. My vision is to one day wear this mask and terrorize the entire world."

"And you, my friend," Violet said, coming up to Nyx. "Would be my partner. From your eyes, I can see that you're crazy just like me. I believe together we can do crazy great things."

"What do you see in my eyes?"

"A bloody manipulative motherfucker, just my type, and I know there is no villain running around in the academy, it's all your doing."

Nyx's impression of Violet increased a little after hearing her, but he didn't like the way things were going. He wanted to be in charge, not to work under someone. However, before he addressed this issue, he had one more question to ask, but in the end, he dismissed that thought.

He wanted to ask why she was in the Hero Academy but remembered the nature of Torrin Blackstar. Knowing that guy's character, Nyx knew he must've forced his granddaughter to attend the Hero Academy, not aware that she was a psychopathic sadist.

'She looks like someone I'll give birth to,' Nyx thought.

"So, would you agree to be my partner?" Violet stretched her hand for a handshake. Nyx looked at her hand for a while.

"I have one condition," he said. "I'll be in charge of this our villainy business." Violet frowned, and seeing this frown, Nyx added, "Of course, you'll sit beside me on our throne."

Violet's cheeks flushed red. "Would we also be getting married and be like the power couple like Beyonce and Jay-Z?"

"Of course not. Why would I get married to a child? We'll only strictly do business."

"Ah, I see." Violet's expression dropped considerably as she thought with determination. 'We'll see about that in the future. I'll make sure you become my husband.'

'She's convinced now, that's good,' Nyx thought as he looked at Violet's beautiful face. He hadn't decided who would be his right-hand person. What he just did was to get Violet to work for him by offering her a deal that they'll all benefit from. It was in the far future; he'll know if she was worthy of sitting beside him or not.

And just like that, Violet had formed a partnership with humanity's deadliest villain, Nightmare. Together, their future was bound to be filled with battle and chaos!

"As official business partners, I have a task for you," Nyx suddenly said.

"Shoot it," Violet replied with a smile.

"I need to get back to the administrative building cell, and I'll be needing your help."
