Chapter 5: Hospital

Arriving at his penthouse, Qing Shan changed into his slippers, and went for wash. Looking at his house, no one would be able to tell if some one lives here or not. His coat will be hanged at its place, the shoes will be at their place. Nothing out of the blue. It would not be a big deal if anyone enters the house and guesses that the owner is a person having OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder).

Finishing his bath Qing Shan laid down on his bed. When he closed his eyes he noticed that a blurry image appeared in his mind. A weak girl wearing a pink frock, curling up and crying. Her shoulders were trembling. He had strong desire to run up to her, hug her, embrace her in the arms and say 'Don't cry rose, don't cry, I will protect you."

Suddenly opening his eyes Qing Shan noticed his phone ringing. Wondering how bad could this single day get, he noticed, it was barely 2 hours of sleep that he got.

Wondering what could cause his grandfather to call him in the middle of night Qing Shan picked up the call.

" Hello, Grandfather is everything fine? Why are you calling me at this hour?" asked Qing Shan with a slight raspy voice indicating that he was asleep.

" Okay grandfather, I will come immediately"Qing Shan answered after hearing something from the other side making his face as pale as anything.

Hearing that his grandmother collapsed and was taken to hospital, Qing Shan felt that his entire world has collapsed, Quickly changing his clothes, he rushed to the hospital.

As soon as he reached near the operating room he noticed his grandfather was standing near the operating room waiting for the doctors to come out.

Rushing to him Qing Shan hugged his grandfather who was on the verge of collapsing.

"Grandfather, you have to hold yourself. Nothing will happen.

See I am also here, but you have to hold yourself well.

Think if grandmother sees you in this condition, what will she think?" Helping his grandfather to sit on one of the waiting chairs, Qing Shan got some water for him.

Pacifying his grandfather Qing Shan called his father Mr. Qing to inform that he will be in the hospital so he can come later.

After a couple of hours, the doctor came out of the operating room.

" Doctor, How is my grandmother?" asked Qing Shan with worry evident on his face and his hands sweating nervously.

" We have stabilized her condition. But, as I have told already she needs to get the surgery done. If we delay anymore, the success rate of the surgery may fall and then it will be difficult to operate on her. I advise you to make a quick decision

We will keep her in ICU under 24 hours observation. If her condition improves she can be discharged after two days."

Feeling relived that his grandmothers condition was better, Qing Shan sent his grandfather home and decided to wait in the hospital to take care of his grandmother.
