Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Spending Time at HQ.

Now that the mission of taking over Planet Metamor was over. Turles figured Zarbon would have time to train him again once more. After all, why would Turles ignore such an easy source of strength that was willing to aid him? He waited outside of the room that Lord Frieza frequented for Zarbon. As a low-class warrior, he still hasn't gained enough promotions to let him do whatever the hell he pleased and walk right in.

Alongside him was a saibaman near equal in height to himself. It had a scouter and wore full body armor, unlike any other saibaman. To further its individualism, Turles even drew a symbol on its armor. A spiky fruit was drawn on the saibaman's armor. Turles and Naba had one on their battle armor as well. The saibaman copied his stance as he waited. The two stood straight, disciplined, and quiet. Well, Turles did. His second squadmate got bored not even five minutes later and pulled on Turles arm and pointed down the hall.

"Sure, go ahead, Sai." Turles gave it permission to wander around.

Hours passed with Turles literally standing outside the door doing nothing. Inwardly, he was rather pissed off that this prima donna was wasting his precious training time. Here he was, being the perfect little soldier, and Zarbon didn't even want to give him the time of day anymore? Did Turles get replaced because he knew he hadn't done anything wrong. He completed his missions, did as he was asked, and didn't even cause trouble in the force.

Eventually, Zarbon finally came out of the room and looked down at him. Before Turles could even finish his respectful bow, General Zarbon spoke, "If you value your life, never step in front of me again, monkey." Then he walked back into the room.

Ha.

Haha.

Hahaha!

What?!

Turles pushed down his irritation that was begging him to rush into the room and beat that handsome bastard's face into a bloody pulp. He put a casual smile on his face as he walked down the hall. If Vegeta didn't kill that bastard for some reason, Turles promised to kill him painfully and brutally.

"Hey, Turles!" A group of soldiers waved at him.

"Hey, guys." Turles greeted back.

"You have that symbol too, huh… Is that saibaman wearing armor a part of your squad?" They asked.

"Yeah, why? Did it get into some trouble?" Turles asked. He could go for giving someone a good beating right now.

"No, nothing like that. Everyone was just wondering who was playing around by dressing up a saibaman like an actual soldier. I'm not surprised it was you." They laughed.

"You keep an eye on, Sai. Just watch. He'll become an elite soldier in no time." Turles said with confidence.

"I wish I had that much confidence in raising my own rank." the soldier dismissively chuckled.

"Never mind raising a brainless saibaman to an elite! You're ridiculous, Turles! See ya around, man." The other laughed.

"See ya, guys." Turles waved goodbye, slightly disappointed.

Turles could absolutely crush Zarbon and Dodoria with his full strength. By using his Great Ape form, Turles had a power level in the hundreds of thousands. Captain Ginyu wasn't his equal if they compared power levels alone. Turles was probably the strongest soldier in the army right now if you excluded Lord Frieza and his kin.

But there was a nice little prank that Turles could do to abate his rising rage. Eventually, Sai found his way back to Turles, and Naba came back from whatever she was doing with the other eggheads. They met up in the canteen together and started eating lunch.

"So this thing is just a little experiment for you?" Naba asked.

"I guess you could say that, but their name is Sai, and they're a part of the Crusher Corps. Just like you and me." Turles pointed at her, then himself.

"Since when did I agree to be in your little team?" Naba wondered.

"Ever since I drew our team's logo on your armor." Turles pointed at her chest.

"And what are the benefits of being a part of your Crusher Corps? Do I get paid? Can I earn more than what I'm earning now as an engineer? What are the dangers of being in this Crusher Corps?" Naba gave a sly smile.

"Well, if anyone messes with you. We got your back! Right, Sai?" Turles looked toward Sai.

"Kyah!" Sai happily looked up and nodded its head before digging into its food.

"Are you seriously making your own faction with just yourself and a saibaman?" Naba would've called him crazy if she didn't already know that this monkey brat was insane.

"Yeah, why? Are you scared?" Turles teased her.

"If you're going to start stuff with other factions, yeah! I'm not a combatant!"

"Hmm, that's true." Turles put on a thinking expression. "Someone would try to use you to get to me, and I can't be around you every second to prevent that. Guess I'll have to put the Crusher Corps creation on hold until I get strong enough to wipe out every other faction." Turles fired a finger beam at Naba's chest.

Naba screamed as Turles's beam burned off the logo of the Crusher Corps on her armor. It didn't damage the armor, it didn't hurt Naba, and she was completely fine. Turles grinned at the overreacting blue alien. "You're fine. Quit freaking out." Turles made fun of her while Sai laughed.

"That's not funny, you bastard! I thought I was going to die!" Naba held her rapidly beating heart.

"Naba, you're my friend. Give me one reason why I would ever kill you." Turles kept the logo on his armor and the saibaman's armor.

"Just don't do something like that again." She sat back down as everyone was staring at them.

"Why? It was pretty fun watching you be so scared for once." Turles's hand glowed with energy.

"I will shoot you in the face with my blaster." Naba pointed her wrist-strapped blaster at Turles.

"Fine, fine. Your little bro won't scare you anymore." Turles chuckled.

"You shrimps mind quieting down while some of us are trying to eat?" A rather large group of soldiers surrounded their table.

"Our bad, we'll settle down." Turles casually responded as he was about to go back to eating.

"Yeah, you will settle down, won't you, monkey?" The largely-built human-like alien slammed his palm on their table.

The table broke from the force of his hit, and Turles whistled. Sai frowned as they continued eating the fallen food. Naba readied herself to use her blaster on these assholes interrupting their lunch. Turles clicked his scouter and scanned their power levels. "You guys are pretty strong, huh? Can't say I recognize you all, though. How can I help you?" Turles was polite.

"You haven't heard yet, shrimp? Everyone knows by now that General Zarbon kicked you out of his faction. You have no one to protect you anymore. Not even those other monkeys."

"What did you do!?" Naba quietly yelled.

"Later, Sis. Not now." Turles told her in a somewhat serious tone.

"That may be true, but I don't think I've done anything to deserve you ruining me and my friends' lunch, did I?" Turles raised his head up.

"You killed some good friends of ours. Why don't you follow us so we can teach you a lesson?"

"Ah! You're General Dodoria's men!" Turles finally figured out who these guys were. "You don't know how happy I am to see you guys right now." Turles was still upset with Zarbon.

"H-Happy?!" The fish-like alien looked back at his allies. "Are you guys sure this is the right Saiyan?"

"The other Saiyans don't travel alone."

"He doesn't seem that weak either… He has a power level of 15,000!"

"Shut it!" The fish captain yelled. "Follow us or die here."

"Okay." Turles got out of his seat and allowed himself to be surrounded by the soldiers.

"Turles! Are you-" Naba softly shouted at him.

"We're just going to have a nice long talk, Naba. Sometimes co-workers need to discuss things with each other in private, right guys?" Turles asked the men.

"Right. Haha. Just a talk." Captain Fish chuckled along with his men.

Turles was escorted to one of the larger training rooms meant for squads instead of individual soldiers. The purple-skinned humanoid operator laughed as Turles was locked in the training room surrounded by four of Dodoria's elite men. All soldiers with power levels around the ten thousands. They were not a bad bunch at all. From what Turles has seen so far, the strength of the average soldier was between 1,000 to 3,000.

"Before we begin, I'd like to know. Are you going to kill me or just beat me up?" Turles asked.

A soldier rushed Turles from behind, bringing his fist down toward the young Saiyan's head. "Shut it!" He shouted as he attacked with all of his might. Turles didn't even turn around as he caught the larger alien's attack with his arm behind his back and over his head. The small Saiyan didn't flinch or move an inch. Everyone could hear the sound of the soldier crying out in pain as the bones in his arms were being crushed.

"I hope you all made sure to leave behind a will for your families. I may be polite, but I'm not polite enough to pass on your last words." Turles turned and uppercutted the thick blue-skinned alien in the chin. Dodoria's men all heard the man's neck snap as he fell to the floor dead.

Turles vanished and reappeared in front of the only exit in the training room. "Let's have that talk, gentlemen." A purplish aura of ki surrounded him.

"Attack that monkey together if you want to live!" Captain Fish yelled as he powered up.

"Right!" They responded, powering up as well.

Turles closed his eyes with a grin as he heard the men charging toward him. He didn't use his ki to sense them, either. Relying entirely on every sense besides sight. The sound of the soldiers' yelling was enough for him to figure out their location, but this still wasn't enough. He needed to clear his mind and flush his emotions until it became second nature to do both. Relying less on his senses and mind.

That inner lust for battle, a satisfying fight, and his innate nature as a saiyan fought against him at every step. Turles ducked under the combined pincer attack of the soldiers while counter-attacking at the same time. Just as he dodged, he shot back up before they could fly past him. His fists went soaring into the chests of two soldiers at once, who screamed in pain as they were launched into the roof. Turles didn't see any reason to hold back. Fodder like this didn't have any use to him but to serve as training dummies.

He couldn't see the expression on the remaining soldier's face, but considering he heard no sounds of movement, Turles guessed he was pretty afraid. At least, that was what he thought until he felt something slightly touch his lip. Near instantaneously, Turles turned his head and jumped into the air with a rising knee. As much as he wanted to say something, Turles kept focus. His knee met nothing in his failed counterattack.

Calling on all of his meditation training, he flushed his mind and kept his breathing steady and even. Turles could hear the strained breathing of the two he hit earlier groaning on the ground next to him. Without a thought, he impaled his foot into the nearest one and blasted the other to pieces. There was no reason to keep additional factors in this fight that could bite him in the ass.

Turles relied on hearing and touch, but since the other party kept still or moved quietly, it was time to use the others. He sniffed the air twice and kicked off the ground. His fist found home in the arm of the remaining soldier, who grunted in pain. Turles latched onto the flying soldier's arm and tossed him to the ground below.

"Die filthy Saiyan!" Turles could hear and feel that attack coming his way.

"..."

Turles could've fired back with an energy attack of his own. He could've just flown out of the way despite their close distance due to his superior strength. It was also possible to just block it. Or he could deflect it. But none of those would aid his training. The core of this was not to think but feel.

It wasn't until Turles could feel the burning heat of the beam touch the hair on his arm that he moved. Turles moved to the side of the beam and rushed toward the soldier below him. His foot led the dive as he heard the terrified screams of the soldier right under him. "Wait! Spare me! I was just acting under---" His last words were interrupted as a child's knee crushed the upper half of his skull.

"Whoo…" Turles released the breath he was holding and opened his eyes to the carnage he's caused.

Although he felt satisfied, dealing with some fodder like this wasn't worthy of praise. Since Dodoria thought he was such an easy target, he'd deal with him along with Zarbon. Then he'd be Lord Frieza's right-hand man. Turles then bust out laughing at the thought of Frieza keeping some saiyan next to his side and actually listening to him for advice. It was going to be a hell of a challenge to do it, but he still had some things to accomplish before he resigned himself to administrative duties.
