Synopsis
A week before my bonding ceremony with my fated mate, Caleb Blackthorne, I told him at his friend's party that I was going to sever the mate bond.
Everyone laughed.
They all knew that for the past six years, my life's goal had been to become his marked Luna.
With the ceremony only a week away, how could I possibly want to sever our bond?
Even Caleb thought I was throwing a tantrum.
"Just because I have to take Dahlia to a purification ritual on our ceremony day, you're going to throw a tantrum and demand we sever our bond?" he'd said. "We're adults, Aurora. Can't you be more mature? We can reschedule the ceremony. Why are you so fixated on that specific day? I don't have time for these petty games."
I nodded silently.
Yes, some things needed to change.
But it wasn't the ceremony date I wanted to change. It was him.
I was ready to accept someone else's mark.
