"Of course, I received an S! Don't take me for a peasant!" Ethes exclaimed, proud of his grading.

Many looked over at Sol, slightly confused and thrown off by his ranking.

They hadn't seen him fight, so it was understandable why they were at a loss.

Sol smiled, "The ranking from all three of these rounds doesn't mean jackshit. The real contest starts when the one-on-one battles begin. Only then does this all matter."

A few kids quickly whispered amongst themselves as Sol said this:

"Is he making an excuse?"

"I wouldn't expect him to do that."

"Cheh! He should just admit he got a lower score because he was weaker than those with higher scores."

Kids far away from him began to say. Of course, those teens who were still near him didn't peep a word.
