Chapter 1: Chapter 1: I volunteer
NARRATOR POV
In the world that was devided into two status the North and South world. North were the big cities locate or the rich cities occured and they think they are the superior and ruling over the Southern People while the Southern is were the small places locate such as village, islands and many more small places. Southern people live in fear, cause every year the Northern people will visit the Southern places to take another person to be there slaves. And when that day will come people will silently praying that they will never be the chosen one while other try to seek freedom but ended up dead that's why they are afraid to provoke Northern people. But behind those circumstances , behind those fear they live on will suddenly be disappear and that will be proven by the island girl named Adelice Lanning who lived in Coastal Island.
ADELICE LANNING POV
Another day, another chapter to be unfold. Gumising ako ng maaga para paghanda ng makakain ang bunso kong kapatid.
"Goodmorning ate" sabi ng kapatid ko habang kinakamot ang kanyang mga mata.
"Ohh gising kana pala, halina't maligo kana para makakain kana rin" sabi ko naman sa kanya. Actually were living a simple life at kontento na ako sa ano man meron kami ngayon ng kapatid ko basta matustusan ko lang mga pangangailan namin at makakain ng tatlo beses sa Isang araw. Kapatid ko nalang meron ako ngayon simula ning pumanaw ang mga magulang namin dahil sa aksidente 5 years old pa non c Alice at ako namn ay 15 years old. Kinupkop naman kami ng Lola ko but sadly sumunod din c Lola kanila mama kaya kami nalang kapatid ko ang naiwan sa bahay natu. I know right that was the saddest part that happend in my entire life kaya nagpakatatag ako para sa kapatid. Pero bago pumanaw c Lola palagi niyang kinwento about sa Lugar namin which the North and South world. Were the North was rich while South is the poor one. And unfortunately we belong to the South world and every year the North will visit here and I will definitely pray in silent na sana hindi kami ang susunod na kunin nila. Dahil Sabi ng Lola ko na kapag hindi daw nila magugustuhan ang serbisyo mo sa mga tao duon possibling hindi kana uuwi ng buhay. And I think what my grandma said was true dahil my ibang tao nong napili nuon nakakauwi naman na buhay pero makikita mo ang takot sa kanyang mukha at ang iba naman ay hindi na ito nakauwi. Kaya as long as I know some way to avoid there presence, I will avoid them, cause we don't know that you could be the next target and I can't afford that will happend someday and my sister still needs me. Kaya hanggat kaya ko I will avoid any of them.
"Ate una na ako" sabi ng kapatid ko habang papalayu na ito.
"Oh sige, ingat ka palagi wag ka lumapit sa mga gulo ha" sigaw ko naman para marinig niya ito at naghanda narin para papunta ng trabaho. And while I was preparing my phone rang.
"Hello" I answered.
"Beshie wahhhhh" sabi sa kabilang linya.
"Oyy kung makatili parang walang bukas, sisirain mo ba ear drums ko" biro ko naman.
"Ayy heheh sorry na excite lang ako" Sabi sa kabilang linya.
"Ohh Sarah anong kailangan mo?" I interrupt her excitement.
"My crush is already confessing to me wahhh" Sabi nya naman.
"Really, yan lang tinatawag mo sa akin" I irritatedly said to her.
"Ito naman wag kana magalit, tinawagan kita dahil birthday bukas ni Dieago invite nya tayu sa bahay nya" Sabi nya.
"Let see, pero di ako sure kong makakapunta ako alam mo naman ang boss ko napakasungit" Sabi ko naman.
"Hay naku gurl yan talagang boss pag ako hindi nakatiis ahhh, parang sinong mayaman ehh hindi naman nakatungtong sa North Cities" Sabi nya naman.
"Hayaan Mona, oh siya baba kona to may trabaho pa ako, bye" Sabi ko and immediately hung the phone. And after that i went to the super market place we're I work.
And finally after several hours I straightly go home but suddenly the people was gathering. "Oh no, they're here" I said to myself and I quickly find my sister and thank God I saw her immediately.
"Alice come here, don't go far" I said and she nod. Even though we don't like gathering here to witness whose gonna be the next target but we don't have a choice they will check our house one by one to make sure no one is hiding.
"Hello Coastals, do you miss us" said the man in the stage.
Miss our butt
"So today were gonna be choosing another contestant hahahah, are you ready?" The lady in microphone excitedly said.
"Whose gonna be the lucky one" the man gladly said.
Lucky my butt, are they crazy they called this lucky it's the worst nightmare of every people here.
"So today were going to get a young maiden" the man in the stage said and smile widely. And I was observing the people here was frightened, scared some pray silently and one of them.
Please lord wag lang ako o ang pamilya ko
"The chosen one issssss" the lady in the stage said.
"Alice Lanning" When I heard my little sisters name I felt the time has stop running. Nakatulala lng ako sa paligid at hindi makapaniwala sa narinig ko habang namalayan ko na kinuha ng mga guard ang kapatid ko.
"wait no, I volunteer, I volunteer to be her replacement".
