Chapter 30: Chapter 28
(A/N: I just read a powerful quote and my brain was like; "Go write a chapter. Now. I'm motivated." So here.)
In an open plaza, countless hunters wearing their gears were present. Some were organized and standing by at one corner while some are disorganized most probably because they were lost or do not know what to do.
A bit further on the distance, military jeepneys and trucks were present which seems to be the type of transportation these hunters will use to bring them to the many gates appearing in Japan, even now. The situation is so bad, gates are appearing one by one at least every 2 hours.
Not just Japan, but the rest of the world is experiencing the same thing. Though, this phenomenon only happens in places that have a lot of concentration of mana. Many hunters from different countries join in these countries' requests, the reason? Money. Sure, they could have helped their own country, but bigger countries like the US are offering some good deals, so why would they refuse? Though, that is only the deal on the outside.
It's like an iceberg. At top, it looks like nothing dangerous. But beneath that ice, a sinister ploy is present. And these hunters are quite unaware of it. Of course, the US is not the only one that uses this tactic, but also the fellow big countries.
Anyways, at the aide of the plaza, a wide building was present, and on the 4th floor, overseeing everyone below, two people are present.
"That guy Toneri still isn't here... Did something happen to him?" Asked one of the men
"Doubt it. I've seen him fight before, I highly doubt something would happen to a hunter like him..." Answered the other.
It was Ryuu and Albert. Ryuu, as a guild leader, is supposed to be with his guild members right now. Though, something from his current vibe is that he isn't all that worried.
The reason is simple. On another side of the plaza, a very organized group of people was lined perfectly, and in the front, a girl was commanding them. It was Ryuu's guild members and guild advisor.
'Gotta say, she's really good at this...' Ryuu thought
On the other hand, however, Albert came here without a guild. He just came here with a group of his friends who were also his brother's friends. They were all A and B Ranks by the way. So they can also be interpreted as his 'bodyguards'.
At this moment, however, another voice interrupted both of them.
"And as someone who fought him, I'm pretty sure he'll be fine."
It was Goto Ryuji.
After the Jeju Island fight, he and his guild took a bit of. a break before continuing their activities.
In the original series, since Japan's best, Goto Ryuji, died on the Jeju Island Raid, they were left defenseless when the mass gate appeared. But thanks to Toneri's interference, they were not only saved but also saved some parts of Japan when the other guilds weren't able to solve the gates.
Though, as strong as the Draw Swords Guild may be, they won't be able to single handily clear all the gates appearing all around Japan. So they still need to attend the mass gate clearing organized by the Japanese hunters association along with the other guilds. That includes Ryūchi Guild which is owned by Ryuu, which by the way, if not for its focus on making weapons for hunters, would be second only to Draw Sword Guild.
When Ryuu saw Ryuji, he didn't show any change in his expression and just remained his indifferent expression. Albert, however, started asking Ryuji of who he was. 'He doesn't even know Goto Ryuji... Has this guy been living under a rock?' Ryuu thought
Ryuji avoided Albert's questions and continued to speak with Ryuu. "Going back to the topic, even though 'He' is not here, I am pretty sure that we can handle ourselves."
He then glared at Albert and continued. "We don't even need any help from other countries. The association is just wasting their money hiring hunters from other places... Especially that man." Ryuji pointed his finger at a person from below sitting on a comfortable chair under a shade drinking some booze, laughing loudly. It was Yuri Orlov.
"Although I agree with you about the association... Yuri Orlov is also useful with... That giant gate. As for the matter of Toneri not being here or not is also important." Ryuu replied
Hearing this strange and vague response, Ryuji raised one brow and asked. "How so?"
However, Ryuu did not answer him and just stayed silent.
'Tch. Fine, keep it to yourself.' Ryuji thought before leaving the two alone.
After about half an hour, the association finally appeared and gave them instructions on what to do and what is not. The hunters will be dispatched to different regions to clear gates and harvest mana crystals to be gathered in Tokyo. The reason is so it can be used for Yuri Orlov's barrier that is to be set up.
Normally, with these many people, coordination is really difficult. But surprisingly, the hunters followed accordingly and boarded the jeepneys and trucks that were on stand-by and left. That includes Ryuu, Albert, And Ryuji.
The mass gate clearing has now officially started.

While all of these were happening, a certain white-haired person with blue eyes is currently standing on top of a destroyed field.
It was none other than Otsutsuki Toneri.
He started practicing and learning various Jutsu around the afternoon. But because of his focus and loss of track of time, he continues learning them until the next day. Yes, you heard that right, this man stayed up all night and did not even mind that it was already night and continued his training.
As for his training? It went terribly horrible. Turns out, you can't just learn different jutsus in one day. As the Jutsus from the Naruto world was created and further advanced and improved by many people from different generations. And this man just tried to recreate those advanced jutsus that were created long ago here.
The result? Well... Tattered clothes... Burnt skin... Flowing water everywhere... Some strange rock formations... And severely destroyed areas. The result of his stupid idea resulted in him not only getting injured but also the land around him.
But... After staying silent for a long time, his eyes finally gleamed with positivity. "YEEEEESSSSSSS!" he screamed at the top of his lungs.
To tell the truth, the essence of his so-called 'Jutsu Learning' is not about discovering new Jutsus... It's about discovering and learning one jutsu that will tremendously help him!
The one! And only! Shadow Clone Jutsu!
Although it's not *Multiple* Shadow Clone Jutsu, at least it's superior to a normal Clone Jutsu!
"Alright, let's do this...!" Toneri muttered in excitement.
He then clasped both of his hands together. And made the corresponding hand seal: Tiger.
Then, two puffs of smoke appeared behind Toneri, and when the smoke subsided, two perfect replicas of him were shown. Even his tattered clothes and burnt skin were present. It was so very detailed!
With Toneri's current chakra reserves, at best, he could only create about 40 or 50 clones. Completely contrary to Naruto Uzumaki that has access to Kurama's almost infinite chakra that can easily create 100 clones.
If he creates more than 100 shadow clones, it will surely make his chakra reserves go into danger.
The way it works is:
Toneri's chakra will be evenly divided between his clones: creating one clone will give it half the user's chakra, creating two clones will give each a third of the user's chakra, and so on. Depending on how much chakra Toneri has and how many clones he makes, this rapid depletion of his reserves can be dangerous. Because of this, usually, only those of at least jōnin-level can safely use the standard Shadow Clone Technique. Even then, they could only create at least there or four before passing out.
Anyways, for now, he will only use two clones. The reason is really simple. He will use them to learn more jutsu, but FASTER!
'Alright, let's do this! Naruto Uzumaki way!' He thought
The two clones moved away about 20 meters away from each other and started making hand seals.
Seeing this, Toneri almost teared up as he knows someone his workload will finally decrease.
'I'm so happy right now. Tobirama, your shadow clones are perfect for guys like me that need fast training!' Toneri praised the white-haired Uchiha-racist
And just like that, another day went by with Toneri learning more Jutsu, completely forgetting his purpose in Japan.
