Chapter 27: Tribulations (1)

Mattius was sitting at the desk in his office located in the Academy when there was a loud, frantic knock at his door.

"Come in."

The door opened to reveal a frantic look Mrs. Goodwin. Her hazel eyes were as round as coins and her round face was red. "There's been an incident."

He placed the quill down and gave his full attention to Mrs. Goodwin. "What happened?"

"A student has been taken to the infirmary," Mrs. Goodwin began. "There are claims that she may have been pushed down a flight of stairs. We have the two students in question detained."

A student was forcibly pushed down a staircase? Mattius rubbed his temples at the incoming headache he knew was bound to come.

He stood up from his desk. "How is the student?"

"She suffered a minor fracture in the right ankle."

"And who are the students involved?" Mattius asked.
