Chapter 8: Chapter 7

Eragon POV
Everyone watched as Laurent walked towards us he had glossy black hair, a slight olive tone to his pale skin, dark hair, and a medium, slightly muscular frame, and an easy smile as slowly held up his hands showing he is coming in peace. Tanya spoke, "Who are you and What are you doing in our territory."
Laurent gave a small smile and replied"I am Laurent and I heard about your coven feeding on animal blood rather than human blood.I wanted to try and join your coven."I narrowed my eyes at him and said"You have already met the Cullens."
Laurent who heard this looked at me with surprise as Elezar questioned "What are you hiding."Laurent was hesitant but soon answered "I was part of nomadic coven we passed through the Cullens territory one of Cullens mate was a human girl. My coven mate is a tracker he got the scent of the human girl and wanted to hunt her.I warned the Cullens about him and his mate as I decided to leave their coven."
Tanya looked at me for confirmation of his story as I telepathically told everyone"He is too dangerous to be let into the coven since he has a little sense of loyalty and would abandon us in a blink of an eye when we are in trouble. Be careful he may not be powerful but he is still dangerous in a sense."Eleazar who heard all this calmly told, "Laurent we don't drink human blood so it will be hard for you to change to animal blood especially considering you have been probably drinking it for centuries."
Laurent saw that they were not going to accept him into the coven as he said "Okay I understand."With Laurent sped away from the house into the forest as Tanya questioned "What did you see when you read his mind."
I looked at Tanya and replied "He was always attracted to people with power, and curried their favor. He had a knack for discerning who the most important person was in any given grouping and then attaching himself to that person.He once ran into one of the surviving Romanians, Vladimir, who still radiated some of the power he had once held. However, he did not stay for long as he next turned to the Volturi, who held the exact kind of power that he sought. However, Aro turned him away after finding out that he had encountered the Romanians and he had little or no sense of Loyalty declared him as untrustworthy."
Eleazar who heard all this spoke, "It was a good thing you were here as we may have accepted him to the coven without knowing all this."I gave a nod while I thought about Irina and Laurent "Both of them are not Mates for sure since from what I understand when Laurent was killed Irina did not have the same drive for revenge as Victoria or that female cold one that had attacked Taha Ki's tribe. Irina was quite calm as she even attended Bella and Edward's marriage which was in forks right next to the Quileute tribe. Tanya and Eleazar and told me how vampires sometimes take companions if they are unable to find their mate, So my guess would be Irina and Laurent were just companions."
[Authors Note: This companion thing is something I came up with if you think it is stupid I can say sorry.]
I explained, "Well from what I got from reading his mind he did get some info on us and was planned sweet talk his way into letting him stay although he had no plans to change his diet."
Tanya grimaced and said, "If he could fool Vladimir then we would definitely have fallen for his sweet talk."
Everyone was discussing about Laurent as I could still sense he was in our territory while I was thinking about whether to kill him or not but seeing he is harmless to our coven I decided not to kill him. Then there is Edward the brooding emo vampire who kept telling himself he has no soul and he will no damn another to this life and stuff. Interesting his mate Bella turns out to be equally brooding, It's like the god in the twilight world searched for a good mate for Edward but couldn't find anyone and settled for Bella at last they are made for each other.
Everyone soon had breakfast then Kate decided to just spend time with me as she came and sat on my lap and whispered "Do you think the Cullens got rid of that tracker."I was thoughtful as I replied, "Don't know did any of you call the Cullens."
Kate spoke, "We tried but no one answered our call."I nodded understanding since I could only guess they must have been busy with James. The next day Eleazar called everyone to the living room I saw both Tanya and Eleazar were looking serious as Eleazar saw everyone was present he spoke "I just got a call from allies from the Irish coven. They wanted our help and let's just say it is a very serious issue."
Kate narrowed her eyes and questioned, "What is the problem."Tanya answered "Werewolves."Irina was surprised and she asked "Werewolves but they have been extinct for centuries."
Eleazar sighed and replied, "Some of them must have escaped, I don't know how they escaped Voulturi's notice till now but the Irish coven came in contact with them in their new home."
Kate was confused as she questioned, "Shouldn't they go to the voulturi I am sure they would be glad to help them."Eleazar answered, "There lies the problem the Irish coven had come in contact with last members of the Romanian coven it seems they had a temporary alliance with them, and as you know the Voulturi considers anyone who helps or contacts the Romanians traitors."Everyone soon understood the problem as Eleazar continued"You know how Aro is he is after gifted Vampires like Edward or Alice if they find the Irish coven has any gifted members they will use this as an excuse to either kill the whole coven and If the worst come to pass Aro will use this situation to brand anyone associated with them as traitors which means us and Cullens."
I asked, "So we are going to help them right."I have itching to try by abilities in a fight this is a really good chance. Kate gave a grin and said "I will go with Eragon.I really want to see how strong these werewolves are."
