Chapter 11: Chapter 11 - The Serpent That Met The Sun

(3rd POV)

A delicate hand was placed on the Python's cracked back, and that hand began to exert force, almost as if they were pulling out what was inside the serpent's corpse.

And with a movement of that hand, the thing inside the Python's corpse is pulled completely out, destroying the serpent's skin, and the creature falls to the ground face down next to a charred and destroyed Python.

Apollo naturally went into a defensive stance upon seeing the new creature in front of him.

The creature that rose up from the ground was a gray-skinned woman with long silver hair tied into a ponytail.

Her eyes were amber with pupils like a snake.

Her upper body was bare, showing off her large breasts and curvaceous figure without a hint of embarrassment.

On her beautiful face, she had 4 sets of purple scales, two went from her forehead to her eyebrow, another covered her nose, and the last one covered her entire neck to her chin.

But neither the scales nor even the fact that she was naked was what caught the most attention about her, the most notable thing about this woman was that she had a long purple tail, its length was approximately 8 meters (26 feet).

She was basically a lamia, which was a mythical monster represented by the head of a woman with the body of a serpent.

The beautiful creature raised her arms as if stretching, making her breasts jiggle.

The next moment, she lowered her arms and her golden eyes met Apollo's.

A cruel smile formed on her face showing her fang and from her smile came out her long tongue with the "forked" tip.

(Python Image)

"Python?!" Apollo muttered, narrowing his eyes.

"That's right, brat." Python said, waving her hand causing a piece of the scales of the huge serpent's corpse to go towards her and wrap around her breasts.

Practically forming a top on the breasts, which went from purple to white.

"I have to admit that I underestimated you since you are the son of that useless little bitch, but I can certainly see now that you truly come from Mother Earth's descent." A mischievous smile adorned her face.

Apollo's eyes grew even colder, and without responding to Python's provocation, he raised his hand towards the sun.

"[Solar Construction]: Claymore." In Apollo's hand, a golden sword was formed with a long and expressive incandescent blade.

"It seems that the little god isn't one to talk much, that's fine with me, but forgive me, I'm a little furious, as it's been a long time since I changed my skin and entered my true form." Upon saying this, Python's new body releases a large amount of divine power.

Even though Python didn't have any divinity, she was still a Titan, not to mention she was literally created by Gaia.

Without even realizing it, Apollo naturally became defensive holding the burning Claymore.

Python flexed her hand, and at the same instant, the snake corpse's mouth glowed purple, and two fangs from the mouth of that huge body disappeared, and in Python's hands, two tribal-looking daggers appeared.

And with that same cruel smile, Python quickly slides towards Apollo.

Her speed seemed to have reached a new level, as, in a matter of milliseconds, Python was in front of Apollo swinging one of her daggers towards the young god's head.

Apollo quickly swung the Claymore, hitting the dagger's blade, and pushing it back.

Python twisted her body, attacking with another dagger, but Apollo tilted Claymore to the side, blocking the cut with the Claymore's hilt.

Even though the Claymore was a large sword and in theory a much slower weapon than a dagger, Apollo seemed to have great control over it, managing to block Python's cuts.

Python just smiled as Apollo ignored the damn serpent and pushed her dagger back, and swung the claymore hard.

The air vibrated and Apollo's blade came down on Python who swung her dagger, but instead of defending herself, she used both blades to redirect Apollo's heavy attack towards the ground.

The claymore's blade slid over the dagger's blades and collided with the ground, charring the ground.

In exactly the same second Python flexed her arms, pushing one of the daggers towards the young God. Fortunately, Apollo had time to react and tilted his face, but the dagger's blade grazed his cheek, opening a thin cut.

Not even a second after the slight cut was opened in his skin, Apollo felt something circulating in his blood.

{Poison.} He thought, feeling his body burn, but without thinking much he used his divine power to interrupt the circulation of the poison, greatly delaying its effect.

Python, still with that shit-eating grin on her face, quickly moved away from Apollo at the exact second he used his divine power to slow down the poison in her daggers that were made from her prey.

A few meters away from the sun god, Python swung her tail, which howled against the wind towards Apollo, who had already stopped the circulation of the poison.

"Tsk." Clicking his tongue, Apollo with a quick and smooth movement pulled the claymore back and parried her attack.

Python's tail began to burn, but the inertia of the force that was not even remotely inferior compared to her previous body, on the contrary, was much greater than Python's giant body.

And with the force of the impact, Apollo was thrown towards the forest, causing the trees to break, receiving the impact of the sun god's body.

In the first, second, third, fourth... but in the seventh tree, his back hit the thick trunk, stopping the inertia of the Python's strike along with the blood that spilled from his lips.

{...Her attributes have practically tripled in this new form.} Apollo thought, getting up from the ground while wiping the blood from his mouth, without trying to hide his excited smile.

Meanwhile, Python raised a finger up and her divine power became even stronger and several spheres of acid began to form in the air.

Seeing this, Apollo also raised his free hand using [Heaven's Wrath], and in the air, particles of light formed, and came together taking the form of 8 spheres.

The spheres of light shot beams of light towards Python, who waved her hand, causing the countless acid spheres to rush forward.

Flashes of light and acid explosions begin to occur in the air, while the orbs of light begin to shrink as the beams of light are fired.

The once beautiful forest was being ravaged by these two.

The ability's shock blast continues until the last orb of light disappears, generating a flash of light against the last acid blast.

Being close, Python's vision is slightly dazzled by the small burst of light, and within a few seconds her vision returns and she looks into the forest, but no one is seen.

Python raises an eyebrow, there was nothing and no one in the forest, and there wasn't that trail of light particles when Apollo used that quick movement.

{Maybe he ran away…}

Before she could finish that thought, she smelled a scent, it was a soft and sweet scent.

She could smell this smell easily, as she had a sensory organ that allowed her to detect scents in the air in a way that her nose could not.

And that scent was coming from her side.

Python quickly slipped back only to feel something upwind and a sharp point tearing through her belly leaving a trail of flames.

Her forehead wrinkled in pain, but she ignored it and released her divine power into that area.

Using her divine power to increase her perception, she was able to sense from both scent and divine power that Apollo was in front of her and moving toward her.

With a smile, she threw the dagger, which hit something and ricocheted upwards. And Sliding towards Apollo she grabbed the dagger out of the air with her tail while throwing acid where Apollo was.

But the scent and divine power quickly moved to her left side.

And she twisted her body to the side, but a flaming blade pierced her waist.

However, a cruel smile formed on her lips, and in the next instant, a dagger was stuck into the invisible figure's shoulder by the Python's tail.

And with this pain, the figure of Apollo appears in front of Python.

"So you can turn invisible?" She exclaimed, pushing her tail harder, which in turn made her sink the dagger further into Apollo's shoulders, flooding it with more venom.

Pain coursed through Apollo's body, but Python wasn't doing so well either, as there was a sword cutting into her waist.

"...it's good to have a trick or two." He said, flexing his foot using [Flash Steps] backward, causing his shoulder to be lacerated by the dagger blade that remained in the tail.

{That wasn't a very good exchange.} Apollo thought, realizing that the poison ran much faster through his body causing several spasms of pain.

Furthermore, it seems that his technique called [Reflection] wasn't that effective against Python.

Even though [Reflection] could make Apollo invisible to the naked eye by refracting the light around his body so that others only saw the area behind him, even when looking directly at him, that didn't even remotely make the technique perfect.

Since it was impossible to make his scent invisible, he also had to lower his divine power as much as possible so as not to be tracked.

Feeling the poison becoming more potent, he thought about using [Pure Sunlight], but that wouldn't fully help against the poison, it would only make him expend even more divine power.

He needs to end this as quickly as possible to get rid of the poison.

"Let's be a little reckless then." Saying this, he uses [Aggelos] and 3 pairs of wings form on his back.

He jumps and flies toward Python, who spits acid at him. Apollo gracefully dodges everything and uses his wings to defend himself from some splashes.

"Little worm." Python squirted a jet of acid next to her, and from the pool of acid, two clones made entirely of acid formed.

And together with Python, two acid clones slid towards Apollo who strangely stopped and placed one hand over the other, closing his eyes.

Python felt a tingling sensation on her skin that warned her of the danger to come and slowed down, while the acid copies jumped at Apollo with daggers made of acid.

Before the attack reached its target, Apollo suddenly opened his eyes, which glowed blinding gold.

Light began to grow between his hands.

Then, Apollo used [Earth's Wrath], and a wave of continuous blinding light began to be released.

The highly destructive light envelops the clones, annihilating them, and continues to expand towards Python who turns around, but just as she turns to slide, the light hits half of her face.

The retina of her left eye is destroyed, and blood begins to leak, pain takes over her being, but even so, she manages to escape the reach of the light.

The light goes out, and Python, who was far from Apollo begins to roar in pain.

"Arghhhhhhhhh!"

She knew she was completely blind in her left eye. And with her other eye, she was still dazzled by the light.

With one eye blind and the other temporarily dazzled by light, she began to throw acid around her in fear that Apollo would attack her, even though Python could smell her and divine power was not close to her, but still there was despair.

It was a little ironic that the god of light had placed her in darkness.

She continued throwing acid around her, practically creating a lake of acid around her.

But little by little, her vision in her right eye returned, along with her feeling of a terrifying divine power in the sky.

Opening her right eye fully, she saw a blurry figure in the sky.

"What is that?" She blinked her one eye and began to focus on that figure in the sky.

And then she saw Apollo with his long blond hair, and golden eyes, standing beautifully in the sky, with his three pairs of wings on his back.

But that wasn't what caught her attention, but rather the large circle in front of his hand, followed by 5 more circles, one smaller than the other, which totaled 6 with the large circle.

Fear! Horror! Despair!

That's what Python felt when she saw Apollo looking at her, even though he was pale because of the poison in his body, she still felt the deepest fear in her being.

Then the God flew across the sky looking coldly at the serpent on the ground.

"Perish, damned Serpent." Apollo said, and the large circle that had already been charged with solar energy began to rotate rapidly.

"Y…y-you're just a little god." Python screamed in anger, trying to throw her fear away, but it was no use, after all her body was shaking from the purest fear he felt of the young god.

But even so, she refused to run away, especially because there wasn't enough time to do so.

Then she raised her hand towards Apollo, and a gigantic serpent made of acid began to form around her.

All of its divine power has been spent, but this serpent has more than enough energy to kill a god.

And with a wave of her hand, the acid serpent roared and headed toward Apollo, who looked down without much emotion.

Apollo waited coldly, and seeing the serpent coming towards him, he said:

"[Solar Radiance]." And pushing his hand, the large circle that glowed in flaming gold shot out a Solar Beam that hit the second, which then passed through the third, hitting the fourth and reaching the fifth, and finally colliding with the sixth, shooting out a concerted Solar Beam.

The solar beam heads towards Python, appearing to burn the air itself.

The [Solar Radiance] hits the acid serpent, which evaporates instantly. And then Solar Beam keeps heading towards Python.

"I do not…'

There wasn't even time to say her last words, as the Solar Beam had already collided with her. Unfortunately, Python felt no pain, as she was annihilated the moment the beam hit her.

The earth burned with the heat of the solar beam, being scorched.

Apollo's hand closed, causing the circles to disappear.

But the remains of the solar beam continued to hit the ground, and even though it was created by Gaia, the ground began to crack.

And the remains of the sun's energy mixed with Apollo's divine power penetrated the ground, creating a strange phenomenon where vapor began to be emitted from the enormous crack.

However, Apollo paid no attention to this development as he only had one thing in mind.

{It's over.} He thought with a pale thesis, as the poison still circulated through his body.

The sun illuminated Apollo, it was as if a flaming orb announced the winner of this conflict.

And just like a snake shedding its skin, Delphi would begin a path of change, with the sun illuminating the new God of Delphi.
