Chapter - 2 Start of Training
When Lucas and I arrived there, I started looking around from the entrance of the ground where everyone was training doing their exercise or shadow fighting. "Come here, we will first pick up a weapon that you can use for your training" Lucas was standing on the side in front of a room built just on the side of the entrance for storing weapons.
The moment I step inside the room I was surprised to see the number of weapons available there. They had stored weapons here for the use of practice and every kind of weapon was available here swords, spears, axe, maces, bows, and many others that I hadn't even seen before in any movies that I liked to watch in my world.
"I would suggest you should choose a weapon that will not restrict your movement in battle, it will be best if you took a light weapon for starters" Lucas was giving me a suggestion that will be beneficial for me, Other than that he was also describing the pros and cons of every weapon that I asked about to him.
"It's interesting never in my life have I thought that I have to pick up a weapon to fight beasts or monsters for other world's safety and it's not even for my world, life is mysterious" Max thought and selected a sword of his size, it wasn't any impressive sword or anything even his screen has told him that it's a basic sword. "I should also ask more about this screen to Lucas which is showing in front of me every time I pick up something every weapon in the room was meant for training, so all of the weaponry was on the basic tier. After I took the sword for practice, Lucas also pick up a spear from there and left his sword in the room.
Lucas took me to the side of the grounds where not a lot of people were training and it gave us more space to train freely without worrying about others. I started swinging my sword as Lucas instructed me and he was observing me from the side holding the spear in one hand, from time to time he was telling me to correct my posture or telling me what to do and where to focus while swinging the sword.
After roughly two hours of swinging my sword in the air, Lucas told me to take a break and I'm glad that he gave me a break coz I was drenched in my sweat and panting from all those continuous swings that I had to make.
"Look this is only to increase your stamina and to get a feel of how to wield a sword, I can tell from your movements that you never had wielded a weapon before. It will be hard for you but you will learn all of these things quickly just like the other guy" while I was sitting on the ground Lucas was telling me why it's necessary for me to learn these things and where it will benefit me.
I think this is a good time to ask him some of my questions. "Lucas I don't understand why this screen shows up whenever I touch an item, it gives me a detailed explanation about the item that I'm holding" this thing was important for me to know coz I might not be a good athlete or a fighter but I had a liking to read a lot of novels from my world and in most of the novels the mc had a system which greatly helps him throughout his whole journey.
"Ah, that thing well it's something unique to you, all three heroes have something unique to them. We don't know a lot about how their abilities work but we do know what all of you three will have" Lucas started telling me about heroes.
"We only know that your ability shows up a screen in front of you when you hold something and the other guy before you had a high affinity with every type of magic. When he showed up here we checked him with the highest grade of crystal to test him and the crystal was shattered with the amount of magic he had. He was overflowing with magic but he had to learn how to properly use it for now."
"I got a system-like ability, the other guy had a high magic affinity, what would be third guy ability will be," Max thought while Lucas continues to explain other things and to me, it felt like Lucas intentionally skipped about the last guy ability but I didn't mind that coz I already had something else in mind going on.
"What about the magic crystal that I used earlier to contact the maid? How do you guys get that thing and from where?" I was completely ignoring my training just to further know about the world where I have ended up.
"That thing well there are two types of crystal we used the one that you saw we get them from mines in here, they are very useful for mages here they increase the power of the magic that they cast and with some modification, we can also use those crystals for our daily necessities." The one I used earlier must be one that Lucas is talking about.
"And the other one they are beast cores they are hard to get coz they are inside the beast it's like their power source and we can only get them if we killed the beast, and take out the core from their dead body. We use these crystals for making weapons and armor".
Beasts are stronger than humans, thus later humans here have come up with the idea of using the beast crystal to make weapons or armor and the results were better than normal weapons made of iron. A later weapon made up of beast crystal becomes a must-have item to hunt beasts, they are sharper, sturdier, and give a boost in strength and some weapons of high crystal even have the unique ability of the beast.
Lucas told me everything that he knew about beasts and the hero's ability that he knew about except for the third one. I was just going to resume my practice but before I can, the guy from earlier who smiled at me before was walking toward me while carrying two small axes on the side of his waist.
