After waiting for about half an hour , my turn finally came .
After getting to permission to enter , I slowly opened the door and saw the old man sitting on his big chair with a small frown on his face. He was surrounded by heaps of paperwork and I could feel pity for him because he really must no have any free time from the looks of it .
I went and kneeled near him on one knee which was the etiquette. " Greetings Hokage sama . "
After hearing my greeting , the old man finally separted his eyes from papers and took a look in my direction . His frown dissapeared and a kind smile came on his old face . I on other hand was feeling a little scared inside because when I checked his chakra using my mind eye, I was left stunned because it was like a sea and its density was too much higher than mine . So Super Kage level ninja had so much chakra and this old man must have had a lot more during the peak of his body too . It was inevitable that chakra would reduce in amount with old age as its extracted from body cells .
" What's the matter Ren chan ? It's the first time you have come to my office , right ? " With my mind eye , I could feel kind or bad intentions someone had towards me and from old man's voice , I found only kindness.
I could finally lower my small guard after the confirmation. " Yes Hokage sama it's my first time . I came today with a request .. "
" Oh.. speak . "
I was not feeling nervous because I just came to try and even if my request was refused , then I will come again after becoming stronger and gaining more skills . So I decided to come straight to the point .
" Um. I want your permission to take part in the anbu apprentice test . "
I looked at old man's face and saw that it became serious.
" Ren chan , you realise the meaning of joining anbu force , right ? I remember explaining briefly when you were 8 years old .. "
This old man had great memory to remember that small moment . Well the previous owner had a curious nature so he had asked this old man about the purpose of anbu once ..
" Ahem.. becoming an anbu means that I will protect the village from shadows and have to take dangerous missions which can sometimes easily lead to my death . " I repeated the same words old man told back then from the memories inside my mind .
" You are correct but you have to remember that being an anbu you will have to spend almost all of your time training to become stronger and you wont have much time to enjoy with your friends in future. So , do you still wish to take the test ? "
I laughed inside because the previous owner did not have even one friend and I did not plan to make many in future either . I did not change my expression and decided to be firm because being an anbu means more missions and more skills for me and this is most important thing for me .
" Yes I want to take the test .. " I looked at Hokage who had confusion on his face .
Well , it must be rare for someone to come and urge to join anbu during these peaceful days after all . Nobody knew that in just few years all hell would break loose when Madara and Kaguya revived..
After a while the old man must have come to a decision so his confusion disappeared. " Ren chan , I do not plan to stop you because you have the resolve . With your current strenght, it will be impossible to pass the test of elite squads . So you can directly become an anbu apprentice and train inside the secret base for one year . Then you will have to pass the test and can join the regular anbu corps.."
I was happy that my request was approved so easily but I had more confusion and it must have showed on my face .
" Hehe.. no need to feel confused my child. Anbu is a sole organization but there exist elite corps and regular corps . The elite teams are only few and they are assigned personal missions from me . While the rest of the time they can simply take missions from the mission counter inside the base like the regular anbu corps . In the one year of your training, you will have to reach certain level in the mastery of taijutsu , ninjutsu , fuinjutsu and master the basic skills like lockpicking, information gathering etc . Anyway , you can leave now . Go pack your things because in one hour one anbu will come and take you to one of the secret bases .. "
My confusion had completely disappeared now and I was feeling very excited because I could get to train many skills for free . The old man did not say but I could understand that I could never return to the normal life after watching the secrets of the village . Who cares about that because I could easily master the skills with my system and become an official anbu in way lesser time than one year . I immediately left for my home after giving a small bow to the old man . I had nothing to pack but I decided to take some spare clothes with me anyway...
