Chapter 1: Kol Jupiter
A red-haired young man with pale skin, wearing a white shirt and black pants, could be seen laying down on a concrete bench inside a jail cell.
He had a small piece of rock in his hand, and he continuously threw it up and caught it again, repeating the process boredly.
Suddenly he started to hear chatter from outside his cell.
"Did he actually kill both his parents?"
"Yeah, he's been sentenced to 40 years at the age of 16 but he's only been here for 5 years."
Kol assumed they were probably the guards patrolling the corridors, he simply ignored them and continued tossing the rock.
"Do you know why he's being released now even though he's done all that?"
"Don't tell no one… but I heard that some covert government officials are coming here to take him themselves."
"For what? Isn't he a Level 0 Mage?"
"How am I supposed to kno- Just shut up.." Eventually, both the guards shut up as the sound of steps approached them from down the hallway.
"Open the door." A voice sternly stated from the other side of the door.
"Let me check-"
"I do not need protection, simply open the door." The stern voice cut off the guard's voice.
Kol glanced to his left once hearing the conversation and noticed the door to his jail cell was slowly opening and someone entering.
"Hmm?" Kol calmly started sitting up and stared at the newcomer who closed the door behind him.
"Hello, Kol Jupiter." The man had black hair slicked to the side, a black and white suit, a gray trench coat, black gloves, and a golden cane.
"And who are you?" Kol's hoarse voice reverberated in the quiet jail cell as he watched the middle-aged man make himself comfortable on his prison bed across from him.
"You can call me Dr.White, Mr.Jupiter." Dr.White replied with a smile as he stared at the young red-haired man sitting across from him.
"Are you with the lawyers or something? I thought I already finished all the legal processes years ago."
Kol relaxed his back on the wall as he questioned the man.
"No, actually I'm here to offer you an opportunity." Dr.White remarked as he leaned on his staff in front of him.
"An opportunity?" Kol questioned as he curiously stared at Dr.White.
"Yes, I can free you from jail." Dr.White declared with a smirk.
Kol narrowed his eyes as he heard the man's words.
"Did something change in the case?"
"Actually no, there is a certain project we are doing and your ability of [Lightning Magic] can prove to be useful to it, so we wanted to hire you for a certain job if successful. This is why if you agree to my offer we will exonerate you of what you're guilty of." Dr.White explained as he waited for Kol's response.
"What entails of this so-called offer? And I'm not sure if you don't know but I am a Level 0 mage, so even though I have [Lightning Magic], I can't even control it properly, and neither do I have the mana to even barely exert it, so I don't see myself helping." Kol shrugged as he already accepted his fate.
"Trust me when I say this, it doesn't matter, this offer could bring you the power you could only dream of." Dr.White retorted enthusiastically.
"I get power and freed? What's the catch?"
Kol sat up as he looked at the man with piercing red eyes.
"Maybe death?" Dr. White questioningly stated as he suddenly looked at Kol with cold eyes.
Kol narrowed his eyes as he noticed Dr.White's change in personality.
"I see, because I'm a criminal I'm expendable, so it wouldn't matter if I die.... And what if I say no?" Kol questioned with a bitter smile.
"Then you'll simply be left here to rot for another 35 years..." Dr.White replied as his silver eyes gleamed with mana.
Kol simply stayed silent for a few seconds in thought before replying.
"If I accept, can you do me a favor?"
"And what would that be?" Dr.White questioned with an interested expression.
"I have a little brother, can you support him financially?"
"That's it? If that's the case, then hurry and get up, time is something I do not like to waste!" Dr.White exclaimed while standing up and approaching Kol.
"I'll explain more about what you'll experience later, for now are we in agreement?" Dr.White questioned as he extended his hand out for a handshake.
"I suppose we are." Kol muttered as they shook hands.
"Good, good, follow me."
Dr.White opened the metal door and Kol followed behind him.
"Guards, this young man will be going with me today." Dr.White stated as he looked at the men who were in white/black suits, standing in the hallway.
"Shouldn't one of us com-"
"I don't like to repeat myself." Dr.White narrowed his eyes at the guard.
"My apologies sir!" The two men in suits stepped aside and made way.
Dr.White then led Kol through the maze of security checks and hallways, eventually, they made it outside and once they walked out of the security fence, a Black Rolls Royce was only 15 feet away but suddenly Kol stopped walking.
Kol's hands were in his pockets as he looked up at the night sky and took a deep breath in and breathed out.
"I don't feel that much different...." Kol muttered as he looked at the glistening moon and glimmering stars.
Dr.White stopped walking and looked back toward Kol.
"Even if you're not in jail, life sometimes is a jail in itself."
Kol glanced toward Dr.White once hearing that.
"But that's only if you let it." Dr.White added with nostalgia in his eyes before turning around and entering the car.
Kol simply followed after him and entered beside him in the back seat.
"I apologize for doing this, but it's the procedure."
Dr.White suddenly stabbed Kol in the arm with a syringe and started injecting him with something.
"Hmm?-"
Kol didn't get a chance to react as he suddenly started feeling drowsy.
"D-dont W-orry It's Just a s-sleeping d-d-r-ug"
Kol barely understood Dr.White's words as his eye's started to feel heavy.
'What a pain....'
Kol grumbled inwardly before everything went black.

Kol's crimson eyes slowly started to flutter open, as a bright light was pointing at his face.
Kol furrowed his brows at the discomfort of the bright light in his eyes, he noticed he was in some sort of lab room filled with gadgets, and he himself was standing straight up in some sort of capsule with only underwear.
"The l-light." Kol muttered before noticing two individuals appear in front of him.
One was Dr.White while the other was a female beside him.
"He's awake!" The lady had long black hair, a black turtle-neck shirt with a white lab coat over it, and black jeans with white gloves.
"*Sigh*Calm down Ms.Orion." Dr.White sighed as he walked to Kol's capsule and stopped in front of it.
"What's going on?" Kol questioned, eerily calm.
Dr.White didn't say anything as he pressed some buttons on the side of the capsule and lowered the light's brightness inside it.
"This is your part of the agreement, I know I said I would explain it to you, so I'm explaining it now." Dr.White shrugged.
"Isn't it a bit too late for that?" Kol deadpanned.
Dr.White ignored him and continued.
"Well simply put, we're gonna put some chemicals inside you and then charge you up with electricity."
Kol just blankly looked at Dr.White for such a vague explanation.
"Dr.White you should explain better than that!" Ms.Orion exasperatedly stated from beside Dr.White.
"He wouldn't understand it anyway." Dr.White just waved her off before looking back toward Kol.
"Do you wanna back out?" Dr.White suddenly questioned.
"Haha as if you'd let me, it's not like I got much going for me anyways, might as well take this shot." Kol bitterly chuckled as he spoke.
"Good choice, Ms.Orion start the process." Dr.White nodded before abruptly speaking to Ms.Orion.
Ms.Orion sighed but nodded and started pressing buttons on the front of the capsules.
"Listen up Kol, I need you to also produce some of your own lightning, no matter how insignificant, just let it all out when I say so." Dr.White explained as he crossed his arms and continued to stare at the capsule that was slowly filling up with some sort of blue liquid.
Kol nodded as he looked down and noticed the capsule was filling up.
"Grab the mask and put it on, once the blue liquid goes up to your neck, start producing lightning."
Kol grabbed the black mask hanging beside him and put it on.
After a few seconds, the blue liquid eventually rose to his neck and he started emitting as much lightning as he could.
Very small red sparks could be seen barely coming off his body as they interacted with the liquid.
The liquid itself slowly started to turn red.
"Now it's gonna completely fill the tube so close your eyes and be ready because this is gonna be painful."
As soon as Kol barely heard Dr.White's voice, the red liquid completely submerged him and he felt a powerful shock.
Everything went black.

"Well, he's dead." Dr.White muttered before turning around and looking at the tablet in his hands
"Dr.White! I thought you were gonna enhance him!" Ms.Orion exclaimed.
"Well I was, he seemed like a smart kid, but look here. His EKG line is dead, which means he has no heartbeat, I expected him to be a failure but I didn't think he would die." Dr.White shrugged as he walked across the room to compare his other data.
"Sir!-"
"Listen, Ms.Orion, I let you in here because the government wanted me to take on a protege for some stupid reason. I've tested on over a thousand people, some of them died while others survived. The only reason I don't feel guilty or bad is that they're criminals. The success rate of this experiment was barely 5% so of course I expected him to die." As Dr.White was rambling, Ms.Orion thought she noticed Kol's finger twitch so she approached the capsule.
"Umm sir?"
"What now!?-"
"No look sir!" Ms.Orion exclaimed as she pointed at the vibrating Kol.
"Hmm?-What!?" Once Dr.White noticed what Ms.Orion was pointing at, he quickly jogged over to Kol's capsule before also noticing Kol was vibrating.
"How is that possible if his heart is not beating?" Ms.Orion questioned.
"Of course! How could I make such an obvious mistake!?" Dr.White exclaimed as his eye's widened in realization.
Ms.Orion looked at him confusedly.
"What I mean is that his heart is most likely beating much faster than the settings I configured into the EKG machine, so his heart was beating so fast, the machine considered him dead." Dr.White explained as he approached the capsule.
"Wait Dr.White I don't think that's safe-"
Before Ms.Orion could finish her words, Kol's eye's snapped open as his eyes gleamed with red electric mana.
Crack.
The glass on the capsule slowly cracked as Dr.White's eyes widened in surprise.
Smash!
The capsule's glass smashed open as Kol dropped out of it onto his knees, the red liquid itself crashed down onto the metal ground.
Dr.White just looked at the kneeling Kol in amazement.
Kol slowly got up before his eyes gleamed with red streaks of lightning, suddenly sparks started to come off his body as everything around him slowed down.
Kol dug his right foot into the ground before launching off as a trail of red lightning followed him.
Dr.White and Ms.Orion could only watch in amazement as a trail of lightning simply zipped across the room going in multiple directions until suddenly Kol tripped on a wire.
Bang!
Kol tumbled across the metal ground as he crashed into the wall.
"Ugh...That hurt."
