Chapter 2: Chapter 2 - Moving forward
Today, the day, yes that day ... Today was the day when she left me, left me alone on the beach. The fact that your own mother leaves you makes it hurt more than anything since it is the person you least expect, am I right?
As usual, I went to classes but every year on this day my attention went to the memory, that painful and spiteful memory that can never be overcome. After the bell that ended the first class rang, I wanted to get fresh air. I was walking through the corridors aimlessly to finish by chance in front of the music room, since there was nobody I went in and sad in front of the piano. That beautiful instrument with black and white tiles that transmitted a harmonious melody. As I said before, appa saw my love towards music with only 2 years at his side and he wanted me to enjoy the most of what I liked so I learned how to play several instruments like the guitar or the piano. I thought for a moment what song I could play and I started to play it, as the melody progressed I began to sing the lyrics. I think that song was the perfect one to describe my state of mind. Even though it was a sad song I was reassured by the melody. The music had that power in me, reassuring me emotionally in my stormy moments. It's weird, right? I played quietly until I noticed that the door opened without making much noise and I stopped playing.
Haneul: keep on playing please, I will not bother you -she said sitting down in one of the chairs-.
Jungkook: why are you here? Shouldn't you be in class?
Haneul: I was bored ... and what are you doing here? you shouldn't be here either ...
Jungkook: M... Mind your own business -I sighed getting up from where I was and walked towards the exit-
When I left the class I noticed that I was followed, that the girl was following me so I turned around. The girl did not expect it and stamped against me but stepped away fast.
Jungkook: why do you follow me? Haven't you anything better to do? I'm sure that you are like the others after know how my life is. You will probably get away from me and even laugh at me... so better leave me alone -I turned around but I noticed that the girl had taken my arm-
Haneul: I do not see you with much encouragement and to tell you the truth... you seem a lonely boy ... but I'm sure you'll have your reasons and I'll make sure I'm not one of those who laugh at people for what they have or not. Trust me please -she looked at me with a little smile-
Once I hear those words I turned to look at her, the girl had a relatively captivating and sincere look in her eyes. I had no choice but to go back into that kind of music and sit in a chair with her and explain my life, my unfortunate life. Rarely, when I was honest with my life they listened to me in such a serious way and they won't even try to encourage me, it gave me that feeling of having known a good friend and I really liked it because ... I have not had one for a long time. We walked back to the music room, where we spent the hours explaining our lives and getting to know each other better. I really believe that I found my place, where no one would laugh or look at me differently from the others for being something more different and that is appreciated.
When the last bell rang we picked up our backpacks and we headed home, well I did not really go home. I went to that place, yes, where they abandoned me years ago, I sat there for a long while and looked at the sea. I'm grateful to appa for having accepted me but I always keeped thinking why they have abandoned me. Did I do something wrong? Or maybe I should never have been born? Those were the kind of questions he asked me while I stared at the sea while the sound of the waves enveloped me. After 2 hours I looked at the phone to check the time and decided that it was time to go back to the restaurant of appa and I set off on the way.
When I arrived appa was surprised to see me since I usually do not usually appear, but I decided that this should be over. I am happy with appa and we are a family, I must let go the past and move forward and rather be grateful that now I'm his son. I can not complain, I do not lack anything. In fact appa has always been there for me and if I needed something he always tried to give it to me.
Appa: Jungkookie what are you doing here? I did not think you would come today. -he said in a surprised tone-.
Jungkook: anni -I smiled widely and approached him to give him a hug- thank you.
Appa: -he smiles when receiving the hug- I'm sure you came for food because you're hungry right? - laughs lightly-
Jungkook: -I started to laugh- You know me very well appa. Apart from the food ... I wanted to thank you for all appa and I decide that I should not look at this day as a sad day but a happy one because I met someone wonderful who is now my appa - I raised my head looking at him with a smile-
I think that he was very happy to hear those words and it had suprised him. He was always the first worrying about me when I wasn't emotionally fine. I think that it's normall for parents am I right? Appa went to the kitchen to cook something for dinner and I just walked around. The workers were looking at me but I don't think it was of sorrow or sadness.
I approached the piano and sat down, my hands went to the keyboard automatically and I started to play the first thing that came to my mind, people who were drinking or eating began to notice me or that's what I thought, I didn't payed a lot of attention. That melody was from the song I sang when Haneul saw me. Out of nowhere, a worker approached me and put the microphone next to me so I could sing louder. I began to sing without any effort, the song reflects quite what I felt in recent years. I feeld relieved. When I finished I smiled, and I was surprised that the clients started to applaud me, I was really so focused that I did not even notice that they were looking at me.
