Chapter 4: Testing out the ability

After Zane got the ability last night and the information about all the weapons entered his mind he felt extremely familiar with the pipe and gun he had. He decided to go outside and kill some zombies to level up and test out the ability as it would be useful to him.
After packing his stuff, Zane quickly checked to see if any zombies were outside and found four zombies wandering in the hallway. He quickly exited the apartment and ran to the zombies skillfully hitting the zombies directly on their heads and quickly killing them, while leaving no room for them to attack him.
"These zombies are getting easy to kill now that I put some points in strength and agility," Zane said as he was extremely excited at how fast he was growing
He quickly but quietly went outside looking for zombies not wanting to attract too many. Even though he could kill these zombies pretty easily now a hoard of them is still way too much for him at the moment.
He spotted nine zombies huddled together and decided to engage them and kill them quickly, he rushed out of the building and hit three of the zombies quickly killing them as the rest of the zombies pounced on him tripping over each other. He quickly jumped back a bit and dodged the attack and killed the zombie as soon as he landed, taking advantage of the spacing he promptly swung the pipe straight into a zombie's head then quickly hit another one successfully killing two more zombies.
He quickly killed the other three zombies as they were not enough to give him any trouble. He looked at the ground and found another white crystal glowing on the ground and quickly picked it up.
"It seems these crystals aren't as rare as I thought but they sure are useful," Zane said

"Hmm, what stat should I use these stat points on?" Zane said as he pondered
"Let's put 2 in everything for now as I don't want to have a lot of strength but not enough stamina. I should try to keep my stats a little close to each other so they don't overpower each other." Zane said as he took out the crystal
"Do you want to absorb this crystal?"
"2 points of agility and 1 point of mana gained." The cold voice of the system sounded

"Oh, I thought I could only get 1 stat point each from a white crystal! Also, are there any better crystals? If they are the zombies would probably be stronger than these but for now, we shouldn't worry about that and focus on leveling up!"
Zane quickly left and saw 2 zombies alone and quickly killed them.
"You have leveled up!"
"Sadly no white crystal dropped but I leveled up so I will settle for that," Zane said
"I will quickly head to the supermarket and quickly look for some more food and water. I think there should be some off-the-counter medications there also and that will be extremely useful hopefully, no one looted it yet." Zane said while hoping stuff was still left
He quickly went through the alley killing twelve zombies and getting 300 XP. As he arrived close to the supermarket, he saw a lot of zombies close to the front of the supermarket so he couldn't enter from there. He stealthily went to the back of the supermarket and entered through there crouching and trying to keep noise to a minimum.
Even though he could respawn it still hurt to die and he didn't want to feel the pain of multiple zombies ripping him apart like last time. He quickly stuffed some food and off-the-counter medication into his empty backpack as he emptied it at home for this trip. When he finally finished looting he hurriedly left the supermarket luckily getting away without anything happening as he quickly rushed home.
As he made it to the apartment he called his home, he quickly went inside and put everything down, ate some food to satisfy his hunger, and drank some water.
"I got lucky today that nothing happened at the supermarket. I need to be more careful when going out and I need to prepare a bit more," Zane said while thinking about how careless he was
"This is exactly why I died *sigh* I rush things way too much," Zane said while contemplating
I need to head out again to the drug store and to the gun store to get some ammo and more medication.
Zane took his time and wrapped his arm with the tape he found inside the building and prepared all his weapons ready to go out again as this time he wanted to be fully prepared for anything even if he had to die.
"Not like dying would mean much though," Zane said as he chuckled
"Let me put 2 in vitality and 1 in strength this time," Zane said
"Status!"
