Chapter 23: interlude The Red and The Glory Dilemma

As me and Dean were watching the movie, our eyes met and we started to stare deep into each other's eyes, then a romantic atmosphere began to purveyed the theatre.

But before the romantic atmosphere could intensify it was broken by the end bringer sirens blaring out, destroying all of the romantic atmosphere that me and Dean have been cultivating.

I sat up from my chair in confusion and panic, the date of the attack shouldn't be until next month I thought in a panic.

Maybe it's a test or a miss input on the sirens, Dean said to me, trying to calm my nerves.

Although that didn't help much as the panicking civilians reignited my panicked nerves, I wanted to go out and see if Amy was all right I thought in panic.

Deciding a course of action, I flew up above the civilians, and flew out of the theatre doors to see what was going on outside, and I regretted it immediately.

What I saw on the other side of the boardwalk, was a horrifying scene of the sea, slowly, turning red as two giant and horrific creatures, battled it out as an unnaturally strong storm raged in the background.

As the storm raged around me, I couldn't help, but stare morbidly at the two giant creatures, fighting it out at the other side of the boardwalk, one of them was a construct of a giant spider like creature made entirely out of water, deciding to look closer at this Gargantuan beast, I noticed something about its appearance draws me in.

I then noticed it's constantly shifting form creates an eerie and otherworldly appearance, when I looked at it for too long I suddenly got a headache, and I don't know why maybe it's ever changing form is simply impossible for my brain to comprehend maybe that's why I was forced to look at the other one.

The other giant monster was simply a horrific creature, no other worldliness, no eeriness to its form, simply horrific, looking at it, made me want to puke, with its body encased in a spider like carapace, that shines in a disgusting light, and it's enumerable amounts of tentacles and, it's uncountable amount of eyes and with it's four clawed arms, it strikes a horrific image, a kin to that of a Lovecraftiyn Outer God.

Looking away from these horrific creatures, she instead looks at the red Sea and sees something horrifying in an inconspicuous way.

What she sees is an, encroaching Red Sea that is approaching closer to this side of the boardwalk, killing all the marine life in its path.

Looking closer at the red substance, Vicky can even see the fish floating up and decaying unnaturally fast.

She can't imagine what would happen if a human fell into that Red Sea of rot.

then I was suddenly snapped out of my stupor by Dean, running out to the storm, right behind me, managing to emerge from the crowd of panicking civilians, but stopped himself in horrified disbelief at the site before him.

This is enough to snap me out of my stupor, but also put my thoughts into a complete halting of their functions, as I remembered my sister Amy is still at the other side of the Boardwalk.

In a complete panic, I was about to fly over to the destroyed parts of the boardwalk to save my sister, until Dean held my hand tightly and stopped me from flying over.

He then tried to convince me to not go over and not save my sister, "but instead stay with him and be more safe and wait for the other heroes instead of just rushing over all alone", but I didn't listen to him because Amy is my sister and we are family and I don't want to leave any family members behind. Even if it's just a corpse I'll find at the other side of the boardwalk I'll still be satisfied.

So, despite Deans protesting, I yanked my hand off of his hold, and flew over the slowly reddening sea, while the unnaturally strong storms pelt my force field, as if the storm is trying to bring me down to the red Sea.

[Emma point of view]

While me and Sophia were shopping together, we were looking for stores, to have some fun in but we had no luck, until we stumbled on this cool shop, to start having some fun in, but right as we were starting to have fun, the merchants all of a sudden decided to attack the boardwalk, like the drugged up, idiots that they are, but I didn't panic like all the sheep around me, because my friend Sophia is a cape, and so she should be able to protect me.

And I was proven right when two merchant thugs decided to barge into the store, and started to demand food for some reason, but Sophia was there and knock them out quick ,and after she was done, she told me to "stay here and not go outside".

And lucky, I listened to Sophia and didn't go out despite me wanting to because a few minutes later, I heard explosions outside the store, looking over, I saw skidmark throwing grenades like a maniac, trying to hit Sophia, looking over was a bad idea because a shrapnel almost hit my head, so I decided to duck even further into the store.

My bad luck didn't stop there because as I was going deeper into the store, I saw a merchant thug high out of his mind patrolling around inside the store, how did he even get here I thought to myself, I grumbled as there's nothing I can do, but fight, so with the tricks, Sophia taught me on how to be stealthy, I snuck up behind him and stabbed him in the gut ,and before he could scream in pain, I punched him in the face, knocking him clean out.

After I knocked out that merchant thug, I decided to find a good spot to huddle up in, while I wait for this whole thing to blow over, while I was looking for a good spot, I saw another predator, Besides Sophia hunting these merchants scum, I was a bit surprised, but I put it out of my mind and instead focused on looking for a spot, maybe she's a new hero, I thought.

Finding the door to the second floor, I see two of the sheep huddling up together while looking out the window, liking this area I decided to take cover and wait for this whole thing to blow over, in this comfortable area, the other two occupants didn't seem to mind and just ignored me, so I ignored them back, and instead looked out the window to see when everything has blown over and I can go home.

[Times skip]

While looking out the window I see that ,everything is about to blow over , and skidmark seems to have been entangled by some weird flesh thing, and I can't see squealer anywhere, and most of the merchant thugs are knocked out or dead.

but right as I was about to celebrate, two Apex predators, decided to fight it out to see who is on top, and the building that I am in just happened to get caught up, in the after-shocks of their battle.

Seeing the buildings burn around you, while fireballs rain from the sky, and a flesh wall seems to bisect half of the room, exposing the second floor to the outside air, was not so bad compared to what happened next.

There was no warning, one moment those two sheep, were panicking on what to do, over the destroyed part of the room. The next moment a rain of blood started pouring around us, and one of them accidentally got hit by the blood as a result, he slowly started to melt away while the other sheep, tried to help her apparent boyfriend, but instead she melted along with him in a horrifying display of gore, horrified I quickly went down a floor and took cover from the blood rain.

Luckily, I made it down a floor in time to not get hit, but before I could calm down fully from my horror, it only took a few minutes , for water swords to rain from the sky, collapsing the building around me, helpless, I tried to run outside to not get crushed by the rubble, but I was too late and got trapped under a building with both of my legs crushed, not letting me move and slowly killing me.

[Times skip]

It has been a few minutes since I've been trapped here, I haven't bled out yet, so that's a good thing, and even better news ,is the sword rain has stopped, but the bad news is from the cracks of the rubble I can see, two giant creatures a kin to end bringer's , fighting each other, while a unnaturally strong storm surrounds the both of them, the storm is so massive and strong that ,sometimes small red droplets occasionally ,spills alarmingly close to me.

at this point, I've given up on survival, I just hope that I get crushed by the rubble or one of the giant creatures and just die without any more pain I thought in despair.

But right as I was in the depths of despair, I heard footsteps coming closer towards me, bringing a new hope for my survival, maybe it's a hero, coming here to save me I thought to myself.

But right as my hopes peaked, the footsteps stopped, shattering all of my hopes for survival, and bringing a new despair lower than I've ever felt before.

That is why I didn't notice, the silhouette of a girl shrouding me in an ominous shadow, that covers my whole form.

I was startled out of my despair by a voice speaking from above, saying well," this is an unexpected surprise" ,in a monotone voice.

Looking up, I see a mockery of Taylor's face, with a beauty, that is a kin to that of the Simurgh, and abyss like eyes only filled with cruelty and violence, and an aura that drives me insane for wanting to die, rather than to be in her presence. looking at her eerie visage, I affirm to myself that this isn't Taylor the pray that we hunt, this isn't even the Taylor the predator I always wanted her to be. No, this is something else something much more cruel and unforgiving.

Looking up in horror, I couldn't say a word after I noticed her aura. but miraculously ,I then noticed a bit of humanity left, in her expressionless face with no emotions, as if she has none of them left, and seeing her gaze that is unmoved by the world.

It's as if she is gazing at uninteresting rocks, instead of a human being or a kin to an evil God, gazing at the suffering of mortals

I noticed all of those, but I did notice her eyes, eyes that are filled with cruelty and violence, but behind all those layers of cruelty and violence her gaze is still as tough as a monolith, just like how I remember it, and deep within those black orbs, I can only see the perseverance in her heart ,and a will, that, withstands everything.

But as I was looking for the Taylor, I once knew, a cold and uncaring hand grasped, my forehead and before I could think on what was Taylor doing to me, all I knew was pain.
