All of them were shocked to learn the reasoning. Shin himself didn't knew it. He just knows that adding a bit humor is good, and that is why he added it.
The most shocked in this party was August. As a prince, he very clearly understands the significance of what Arthur said. Diplomacy is done with talk, and the most persuasive one wins. Eloquence, is an ability much fearful than anything.
And August knew that.
Shin is a dumb impulsive guy. And that's why he was with him. In a way, Shin is strength and August is brains.

S class of this academy is most prestigious and talented class. All of the people chose in it definitely become pillars for this country in future. And if someone can sway them, make their thoughts change and manipulate, it would be disastrous for the country.'
This scared August very much. He was afraid if Arthur would become some leader to pouch the talents of this country.
'But thinking about it is absolutely wastage of time.'
August didn't thought much for now, and freed his mind.
"It seems you all understand why it is good to have a joke in speeches normally. Well, it shouldn't be done all the time, or else it will undermine your authority."
"Woah! Arthur, you sure know a lot!"
Shin who learn something knew sparkled with stars in his eyes. He noted all his talk as a lesson.
"Well, I know about it. Knowing all about this is normal if you face the original world. Now, let's go and don't be late for class."
Arthur just smiled and all of them stood and left the hall for their class.

This academy has different classes divided according to the basis of abilities. And the top students are in S, while the rest according to individual abilities are in A, B and C.
Class A, B and C has 30 students in it. While the S class only has 10 students and all are the students are the students in top 10 during entrance exam.
But unexpectedly, this time it was more than that. Rather than 10, there were 12 students in it being Arthur Pendragon and Violet Evergarden as extra ones.
Even though both came 3rd and 4th, it is a truth that both of are from Els. And the highest power in merchant city, the council expressed the Earlshide to accept these two as transfer students.
With Count's recommendation, and Council's letter as an ally, both of them were cleared of any identity problem and were admitted into the academy but the condition to pass the exam was still there.
And with that two passed, and adding those two the rest 10 students were also chosen aside them as S class student.
The students who would be the original 10 if both Arthur and Violet didn't appear.
It may look unfair, but to truth it is very fair from a country's view. The main reason for the formation of academy is to promote the growth of magicians to service the country.
And just teaching the students from outside the country won't give them any benefit. That's why to make it proper them added another two exceptional students.
"Arthur-san!"
Yuri came in running and stopped in front of him.
"Oh! Yuri, you're here?"
Arthur looked at her and smiled a bit making her stare at him for a while. Her eyes kind of made him a bit strange.
"Did something happen, Yuri?"
"No! It's just I feel you've changed. It seems that you're s bit more talkative and opening yourself more than normal past stoic face."
"I didn't have that stoic face!"
"No, I am right. Isn't it, Violet-chan?"
"Yes. Arthur-sama is now more expressive. And he really did have that stoic face."
Both the girls smiled and giggled making fun of Arthur who was bent on protecting his image.
"By the way, Yuri. You are also in top 10! No matter how much I asked you didn't tell me and Violet. Do you know how shocked we were when I saw you few seats near us."
"Yes. I was also surprised."
Both Arthur and Violet told Yuri. Yuri just happily told him of passing but never told him of being in top 10. And even break up with them before the sitting to make them to be under a wrong assumption. Only after sitting they found that Yuri is just near them instead of being far.
"I really wanted to surprised you two."
"Then, you really did."
"Really? But in return, Arthur-san really surprised me. Now he is talking more casual thing very unlike before."
"Well, I just thought living like before not being invested in relationships is not good. So, I changed a bit. Is it not good?"
Arthur looked at them to see if it was strange to him to became a bit talkative.
"No! It is good!" x2
Both the girls shouted in sync. How could they not like their personal love talking with them more?
"Good then. Let's go inside the classroom then."
And with that all three entered inside with rest students in front of them.
