Chapter 44: A Suicidal Childhood Sweetheart 03

Xiu Lin woke up and found himself in a hospital room.

His head was still muddled after passing out after 1204 lost signal and disappeared. The headache hit him badly, causing him to lose consciousness at that time.

He checked his hand again and saw the small hand where the IV was attached. He tried to communicate with 1204 but failed again. He wondered if it was worrisome or not since he didn't get to know the future of the plot and if it was good or not. All could only be his wild guess.

Gu Han, after all, is the protagonist. Seems like being with him will only get him avoid getting into trouble. Which... is not good.

Xiu Lin needs to die quickly if he wants to finish the 100-world task. Becoming a career man will take longer as well as finding his biological parents. Who knows what will go around him if he gets into more trouble?

The boy was thinking about this when the hospital door opened. Xiu Lin's big bright eyes looked up and saw Gu Han walking in holding a bouquet. When the boy looked at the bed, his smile appeared, and approached little Xiu Lin who was staring at him. "How are you feeling?" he asked.

Xiu Lin couldn't utter a word for a while and felt that his body was hesitating to respond. His lips were parted, but he felt like the voice was going back like it didn't want to be heard. He could only look down in embarrassment.

"It's okay, Lin. They said it's just a psychological effect. I'm sure I'll hear you again soon." Gu Han soothed the messy hair as his soft and coaxing voice said these.

Xiu Lin looked up again and smiled. Isn't this little lover of his' a bit cute? But from the plot he received from 1204, wasn't Xiu Lin instigating the escape and not Gu Han? Also, a lot of this doesn't match up, and he was still a bit confused.

"Are you hungry? The housekeeper auntie is coming soon. I asked her to prepare something for you. Also, once you're okay, I can take you back home so you can rest more." He explained.

As he stared at the little five-year-old, a knock outside was heard and the door opened. Two police officers entered the room. When they saw the boy awake, they looked elated.

"Hello." One of them greeted.

Gu Han held the boy's hand and smiled with a calm expression before their heads turned back to the two individuals who appeared.

"Is it okay if we ask a few questions? After that, you can rest." the older officer sat on the chair next to the bed and the other stood beside him.

Xiu Lin could only nod lightly.

"Alright, let's start off by your name." The officer held up a note in front of him.

Xiu Lin opened his mouth again, only to let out a breath as his voice retreated again. He could only hold out his hand to signal for a pen and paper. The other officer tore a piece for him and as soon as the boy was able to get the items, he began to write carefully so as not to make holes in the piece of paper.

The characters 'Xiu Lin' was written down.

"Do you know where you're from?" The officer proceeds to ask.

Xiu Lin tried to dig through the memories. The only memory he could remember about home came to his mind and wrote it down. 'A big house with a big garden filled with lilies.'

"Do you know, which country?"

The boy shook his head looking disappointed himself.

"You can write so nicely, who taught you to write?" the police noticed the writings and thought that the boy seemed to have been taught well despite being very young.

Xiu Lin scribbled. 'remember reading a book.' he explained.

"What book?"

'Mother read me. It's called -Capitalism-. I know my dad owns them.'

The three who were reading that written reply were shocked, almost speechless in disbelief as they looked at the words written and at the baby who wrote it. A mother reads an economics book to his son like it was a bedtime story.

"Do you have your parents' names?" the officer cleared his throat and asked.

Xiu Lin scribbled. 'Xiu Mom and Xiu dad.' Dunno their name man, this is pretty hard.

"Real name? Any name you can remember?"

'Gu Han. Xiu Lin.'

If being honest, the only person Xiu Lin knew is Gu Han. The side characters and the criminals were unnamed and even in memory, he didn't know anyone at all except for the first and last person he befriended.

A series of questions followed and Xiu Lin answered them honestly. Some sensitive questions were raised as well which made the room uncomfortable but otherwise, the child only replied with trembling handwriting.

The pitiful image of him made people subconsciously and consciously wants to protect. The police questioning him even wanted to sigh in despair as they read him a series of questions. But the child was very behaved and obedient, answered the questions one by one before going back to sleep.

Gu Han felt his heart twist. Although he was asked the same questions, he can control his emotions as he was an adult inside. But the small child before him is still very young yet can control such childishness. Those people must have hurt him when he cried to lead him to the point when he was even afraid to shed tears. Only tremble and submit.

He clenched his fist. The two police officers finally ended their questions as Gu Han sent them out. The person who came in next was Gu Han's own assistant who was holding a pile of envelopes. The boy also made his own investigation into the matter.

About why they were photographing Xiu Lin and where are they sending them.

"Young master, these are the pieces of evidence we've managed to obtain according to your instructions." The assistant said. "But I think it is not suitable for your age to look at."

Gu Han raised an eyebrow, ignored his assistant's warning, and opened the first file. Inside, a number of photographs were revealed. By just looking at the first photograph, his small fist trembled with rage.

The photos were obscene. The child was forced to different poses which indeed aren't suitable for his age to see. These poses and different outfits arouse sexual desires from perverts but the poor boy in the photos was on the verge of tears in some and in the succeeding pictures, he has bruises and a dead look, obviously given up like a little puppet.

"These are used as materials to advertise the children's auction to arouse their costumers." The assistant explained with restrained anger. How could those pieces of trash do such a thing to that cute and obedient boy? A bunch of monsters! "The reason why the boy had not been sold yet was that his bid is still unfixed. Or that they are planning to get a ransom out of him." He added.

"Did you find out his background?" Gu Han asked.

"No. His appearance doesn't seem to be local. We are still checking through overseas if there is a missing child with his description."

"Alright. Burn these things. Don't let Lin see any of these unsightly things." He crumpled the photos angrily and handed them over to the assistant as he turned his head to look at the boy sleeping curled on the bed.

The tender cheeks were slightly pinkish and the skin was pale white almost blending with the white sheets. Like a soft and fluffy marshmallow that was tempting to be pinched and bitten sweetly.

Xiu Lin could definitely sell meng whatever he does.
