Chapter 51: 51. Glory City 2.
"What information do we have about soul weapons? If I recall, there is a pair of Katars or something in this city in one of the nobles vaults." I ask Amelia.
"The information about soul weapons we have on hand is pretty scarce, you can only bond with a single weapon and we have no idea how they are made. But they are nourished by the soul and grow stronger with the user." Amelia explains.
"Ah, well I'm not a fan of Katars, I'll try to find it then we can analyze it and see how they are made. I'm curious if spirits can use them like Stella. I'll test it with the matrix." I had finished scanning the school library and had moved to the main glory city library and was going over the book there while people stared at me. I'm still surprised I haven't been approached by anyone.
This library was much larger than the school or alchemy association libraries. Most of the useful books however or what they thought was useful was transferred to the school or snatched by noble families. Stuff they couldn't read or thought was junk was left here.
It took a couple days to scan everything but it was worth it. If I recall there is a place called the prison realm under the city or something where people fled during beast tides a long time ago, there were quiet a few treasures hidden there as people took all thier items with them when they left. Would be a good place to look for treasure as they only want food.
I of course got quite a bit of information on the city and where the nobles lived. So once more the looting began. Of course I had to be sneaky beaky like since I didn't feel like changing the timeline too much and starting a beast tide early of having demigod rank experts after me. I have no idea how strong they are so caution is advised.
Don't want another Hagoromo situation to occur.
Anyway my first target would be the Heavenly Mark's family. Mainly because I believe the soul Katars are there and they had a temporal page I want.
A quick trip to the vault proves me right, most of the items inside however are junk besides the Katars, as for the page, well the Patriarch of the family is a chump and I was able to snatch it without him even noticing.
Quick scan of thier small library and I'm on my way to the next family. It's a walk in the park for me to just scour and snatch things like always. Couple close calls using the drones but eh, I'm not worried about it.
I usually keep guard since I can see through walls while they scan quickly.
They did have quite a lot of good stuff, some of which I took such as an egg which contains a temporal demon spirit beast. A time spirit beast at that.
I put him in a urn for now. I think his name was Jidan in the book? No idea, it was just a time chicken that slowly turns into a dragon. I quickly bound it to me and made it my summon.
Who doesn't want a free time chicken?
On the plus side we found a few books on soul weapons and soul puppets. So we could now make those provided we got the materials. Soul weapons could indeed be used by a spirit, as for soul puppets they could house a spirit like a real body and be controlled by the spirit.
However I was more curious about getting my hands on a Zanpakuto from bleach.
"How long will it take to optimize everything?" I ask Amelia.
"A week, 2 at most." She says over the communicator.
"That's not bad, I'll head around the city and see what they have for sale." Luckily my demon spirit coins I had gotten from the vaults were still able to be used as currency. Seems they didn't change money in the thousand or so years.
I wasn't interested in the armor or weapons or even the scrolls with array patterns. I wanted the herbs and soul stones and various raw ingredients. Of course I wouldn't let some scammer try to fool me and I made sure to double check everything with my communicator which showed items I had already.
Most of this was for feeding the dungeon core so I could get more production of goods online.
With how many times I've read about alchemy and blacksmithing in novels I would be a fucking idiot to not want to try it for myself.
Even if I could make things with my matrix I would still need to have the items I wanted to scan so if I wanted a cauldron for alchemy, if they didn't have one I would need to make one and scan it.
So the question is what do I do in these two weeks while Amelia upgrades all my information.
The answer is we go and shit all over some main characters I don't like and snatch some goodies.
Because it pays to be prepared and I had spare slots to blow for looting.
I of course wanted certain people from certain worlds, however I could stop time in those worlds so I could start it back up whenever I felt like it. Now let's begin.
Opening up the first world I click accept before flashing off once more. This time I appear in some woods in front of a startled young man.
"Woah where the hell did you come from?!" He asks in shock.
I ignore him for the black ring hanging around his neck on a chain.
Raising my hand I suck the ring towards my palm and can sense a soul inside of it. I toss it into my sealing urn.
"Hey that's mine!"
[Foreign soul found, heavenly flame found, storage device found, do you wish to bind?] The matrix asks.
